  • Just received the Meta Quest Pro delivery so I decided to give you all a first look at the unboxing. After I tinker with it a bit I will post a more in-depth review to come in the near future. In the meantime, comment what questions you have and I'll answer them in the next video!

Looking forward to seeing a devs perspective. Using Unity/Unreal without having to have the headset on and off constantly to test meanwhile using pass through monitors and see the keyboard and mouse.
Would love a video as a Unity developer on a project.

Thanks for showing us the headset! A little unobtrusive background music would be a great addition.

i like how you too have that tape on the distance sensor of the quest 2 :)
wonder if the pro needs the same tape

Nice, I look forward to more on these newer generation devices. Your videos on OpenXR have been extremely helpful as I want to make science content that runs across devices and it really streamlined development.
One thing on my wish list is extending PCVR into XR. e.g. Use pass-through in when running on PC VR so that I can make GPU-heavy simulations of cool science demonstrations that users could locate onto a real-world table top environment.

Cool unboxing, looking forward for sharing your experience with it. Side question, those headphones work with the GoXLR? Cheers

I think you've missed the small clip in the box that helps clip the charging wire (or any added battery packs)

Justin, are you having any problems using Quest Link on the Pro? I have tried with a cable (just cycles looking for a PC) and using Air Link, with and without D Link VR Air Bridge (I get a Pair button and after I click it, I get a grayed out Launch button that never becomes enabled). I can use all three methods on my Quest Pro. Thanks

It looks like you have a bichon (or standard poodle?, and you're Canadian (Nova Scotia), and you love VR dev? We're already basically the same person, except you're infinitely more talented at dev, haha

Do you see yourself doing testing on the pro rather than the quest 2 now ?

I have a pimax 5 (soft head strap) and was getting neck pain
I realized after a while that was from always looking down and left at my hand (I think I was playing fallout 4 at the time)
My solution was to strap a one pound weight to the back, which evened it out a lot

Sorry but this is not a developer perspective... Not a single second is a developer perspective. My questions as a developer are: can I put/remove the headset easily? Can I program in VR at least debug (i.e. change few lines to adjust some parameters). What are the APIs for the diferent features like... this is NOT (I can't make it bolder) a developer point of view.

Did you read the “unboxing” part?

    • @alexdubois6585
      @alexdubois6585 Před rokem +3

@@JustinPBarnett yes, as a developer, when I unbox, I've got the questions I thought were sensible, not the 200th unboxing for someone who is into packaging to j*** off... my 2c... Harsh I know. Please accept my apologies, I am not usually agressive like I that, but come on, so much time wasted on this planet.

@@JustinPBarnett Honestly I don't think many people did. Maybe something like "Meta Quest Pro unboxing by a VR developer" would better convey what the video is about?
