- Hiya pals,
Thanks to my friends here who suggested I pick books from my shelves that I've still to read for you to choose for me to pick up next. Help me pick 2 that I will read in June so I can slowly but surely make my way through my physical TBR pile.
The 10 to choose from this month are:
- The Good Liars* by Anita Frank
- Our Women on the Ground: Essays by Arab Women Reporting from the Arab World edited by Zahra Hankir
- Bunny by Mona Awad
- Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop by Hwang Bo-reum
- Out There Screaming: An Anthology of New Black Horror edited by Jordan Peele
- The Good People by Hannah Kent
- Cut From the Same Cloth? Muslim Women on Life in Britain edited by Sabeena Akhtar
- Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward
- Malorie by Josh Malerman
- Betty by Tiffany McDaniel
You choose what I read in June 🙌🏻

Looking glass sound and the good liars! I think you should do this again in june for sure! Justwouls like to szythat your videos are like coffee with a friend 🧡
Aww that’s the nicest thing to say as who doesn’t love coffee with a friend xxx
Looking Glass Sound and Out There Screaming! 😊
And I vote for you doing this every month! Such a fun video. 😁
Aww thanks Jen 🥰
The book shop & bunny. 🥰🥰🥰
Betty and Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop 📚☕️
Looking glass sound and Betty....😊
Betty and The Book Shop x
I pick the Korean bookshop novel and the Hannah Kent novel. Burial Rites is so good and you should definitely read it at some point. I’m also going to throw in The Good Liars…I think that was it. Whichever was the first book you talked about. The mystery set in the 20’s. So many of these sound amazing and I’ll be excited to hear what gets chosen!
Thank you!! Might have to make it three in June with all the suggestions 🧡
Malorie & Betty!
Cut from the Same Cloth reminds me a lot of a book I read called It's Not about the Burqa, edited by Mariam Khan. I'll be adding that to my TBR alongside Our Women on the Ground, edited by Zahra Hankir, which also feels like a similarly much needed own voices collection for diverse women. I'd go for one of those and the bookshop one 📚
Oh I’ve heard of that one too but not read will add to my TBR too
Looking Glass Sound and the Book shop novel.
I wanna read them all 🙊
Malorie. Looking glass and if a 3 rd required add bookshop 😊
Thank you! So many good ones to choose from!
Bunny and Betty because I haven’t read Betty and it’s on my shelf too so would encourage me - On a side note, my dog Paddy loves your channel so he can get a bark at Lucy and Patty 😂
These two seem to be front runners! Oh helloooooo 🐾 paddy x
These two sound really interesting and selfishly I would love to hear if they are worth adding to my TBR list 😊
1:Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward
2:Betty
Good choices 👍🏻
Betty and the Korean bookshop novel.
Oooh yes!
“Bunny” because it sounds so bizarre, and “Looking Glass Sound” because you like the author and you said you’re desperate to read it. I looked up a review of “Betty” but I’m not going to read it because of the animal abuse. Thanks for running with our idea, and yes, I’d like to do this again.😀
These there are getting mentioned a lot in the comments. Thanks for the video suggestion ☺️
I vote Betty and bunny. Betty because I have it on my kindle tbr and bunny because I read it earlier in the year and want to hear your thoughts 😁👌🏻
These two are getting lots of mentions in the comments 😀
I’ve dnf’d bunny for now even though I like weird I found it very slow. Looking glass sound sounds good but I’m not sure if there’s animal cruelty in it so that would put me off, I’m not sure if it’s that one or the wolf one. I’ve got Betty to read I’m looking forward to reading that and on the savage side. 📚📚📚so many books 😱😱❤️❤️
The wolf one (sundial) defo has animal cruelty
Our Women on The Ground because if you don’t read it after shelving it for 5 years you should probably donate :). And Bunny because after finishing it I’m not sure if I loved it or hated it and look forward to your thoughts.
thanks pal, so many people have said Bunny!
Betty and Bunny 🐰
These two are getting mentioned a lot!
Malorie and the good liars
Good choices!
I vote Betty and Bunny 🐰❤
These two seem to be front runners
