  • Mojave Desert Tortoise Mural embodies Southwest Utah’s native wildlife on downtown St. George wall
    ST. GEORGE, UTAH (06/10/2024) - The Utah Wildlife Walls Project has made its’ way to St. George in the form of a giant colorful mural of the native species, the Mojave Desert Tortoise. The grassroots arts, science and community engagement initiative will soon be represented in all 29 counties celebrating wildlife diversity in Utah.
    It will take Artist Chris Peterson about a week to complete the mural which is located on the south side of the old St. George Fire Station #2 which is now Zion Brewery.
    The project is a funded partnership by the City of St. George, Greater Zion, Washington County, Red Cliffs Desert Reserve and the Department of Natural Resources.
