      Thanks for this very usefull video as I am considering buying this lens with MC11. I just bought the a6500 instead of the a6600 to keep enough money to get this lens.
      Before pulling the trigger in the next days I really need your advice:
      -I plan to use a6500+sigma 18-35 as my A cam for wedding film hanheld or with a monopod and wondering if the range is good enough
      -My B cam would be my a6300 on a tripod with sigma 16 1.4 or on a gimbal. Do you think I will be missing a longer focal lens and if so what would you recommend?
      I know… lot of questions sorry.

    I had the 18-35 + MC11 adapter but sold it a while ago, and then recently got the Sony A-Mount version of the Sigma 18-35 and planning on using the "new" Sony LA-EA5 A-Mount to E-Mount to see if the new A to E adapter lessens that weird bubbly-motor noise in AFC mode. It's like the focus motor is always constantly adjusting something internally.

    Great video Vu. I'm more interested in its auto-focus performance in stills. A lot of reviewers are saying that it is the sharpest APS-C lens they have ever shot on their Sony camera (even rivaling the Sigma 16 and 30 mm 1.4), but no one has really said anything in depth on how it auto-focuses. If this lens is fast and accurate enough with flexible spot, I'll most likely buy it. I don't need it as a sport's lens. I have the A6500. So, long story short, I would love for you to do a video on the stills aspect of this lens. No one on CZcams has as far as my search result say.

    A good alternative to sony 16-55 f2.8 is Tamron 17-28 f2.8 for APSC. Its equivalent focal length at much cheaper cost.

    • @ChaseCharifa
      @ChaseCharifa Před 4 lety +1

      @@nVuFilms thats true but 17-28 is the full frame focal length. So equivalent APSC is 25.5-42. So it's a little closer than 18-35 but not as wide. The main thing is that its smaller, lighter, quiet focus motor, good medium focal length, for $849. Cheaper than the Sony and close to 18-35. I still think the Sigma is sharper though.

    Wow, this is EXACTLY the video I am looking for. I have the A6600, 24mm f1.4 GM, 16mm f1.4 Sigma. Have been thinking of 18-35 specifically for video streaming due to its zoom capacity. Does the focusing during video streaming KEEP making focusing noises non-stop or does it calm down once acquiring focus? I saw another video that seem to indicate that it keeps making continuous focusing noises on the A6600. Also, do you notice much DOF differences between f1.8 and the f1.4 at 24mm? I love shallow DOF and wonder how much I am giving up during video conferencing. Thanks again for a timely video. Bravo.
