Teaching someone to play a sport where you use your hands is easy, football/soccer is on another level, it's not easy at all, it demands a high level of body coordination to play it competitively and that's why even at professional levels you get some crazy bloopers from time to time. On the Messi vs Ronaldo thing look at it from a Basketball perspective. Ronaldo is like Lebron, Messi is like Kyrie or Steph Curry. Great players but different, on how they are built, how they play, etc. You just have to appreciate what they offer.

Hard to compare the UK and the US at the Olympics, US is 5 times the size of the UK and got 39 Golds and 113 total medals at Tokyo, UK got 22 Golds 65 total. So taking population into consideration we have you beat, but just straight numbers US wins. Definitely no "domination" though.

As a sweeping statement with 5 times the population you have a 5x better chance of finding a gold medalist (assuming both countries are roughly equal with lifestyle). And even then, statistically the US have a larger percentage of their population being obese, which you could therefore loosely argue the UK has a fitter average population, and therefore a UK population scaled up x5 would most likely produce more medals at the Olympics.

Ronaldo has worked more for his acomplishments than Messi, that is a fact. Messi started in Barcelona, one of the greatest clubs in Europe, with a fantastic team, meanwhile Ronaldo started at Sporting CP, a club from Portugal that doesn't have that much prestige in Europe, and in an amazing exhibition againts Man United he got transfered there.
Now, Messi has 1 more Ballon D'Or (Best futbol player in the world) than Ronaldo but Ronaldo is the most record holder and at the age of 36 he's still breaking records and 7 goals away from his 800th goal, meanwhile Messi stays at 752 goals.
But keep in mind that Messi stayed all his career in Barcelona meanwhile Ronaldo Went to Man United (English League), Real Madrid (Spanish League), Juventus (Italian League) and now he's back at Man United (the most competitive league in Europe). Ronaldo been out of his confort zone regularly meanwhile Messi changed to PSG recently and it's having dificulties adjusting his game to the french league (ranked 5th in Europe).
Messi does have more assists than Ronaldo but i think it has more to do with Barcelona's gamestyle which is be constantly passing the ball basically, so naturally Messi will have more assists.
These 2 players are amazing and i would have any of them in my team really, but i'd choose Ronaldo over Messi. In my opinion Messi is an artist but Ronaldo is unevitable and if you want to win games you must score goals and he is the right man for the job always!

Messi fans had us fooled when he played in Barcelona…my man is struggling in his new club PSG (paris/France) it’s absolutely horrifying to see Messi play this bad. While Ronaldo is dominating in his return to England with Manchester United, already became the player of the MONTH (september) despite only starting to play THAT month, although they have (supposedly) the greatest players in that league. I can see how it is easy for people to believe Messi is the goat by watching compilation from YEARS ago…my man hasn’t won a UCL (Champions League - biggest club competition in the WORLD) IN 6 WHOLE YEARS…and we all just looked past it like it was nothing, but if that was Ronaldo he would be ridiculed by EVERYONE on every social media outlet, but of course its messi so that won’t ever happen. It depends exactly where you hit the ball and depending in what way it is turning, you have under pressure or the opposite (sometimes the two of them to make a bend and desend much faster than expected... same thing they do with planes... above the wing, the air is passing by faster than underneath, wich causes actually a plane to fly. Ronaldo played like this when he was 17 he was skinnier but he did and at the same age he played in the first division in his country and in the Champions league which is the european championship for clubs a very important competition so he was a natural. He is the lead goal scorer of all times in Champions League he's the lead goal scorer of all times for any national team in the world and he's the player who scored more goals in football history. He also won 5 Champions Leagues (more than Messi) the european championship for national teams and many natìonal championships in England Spain and Italy and other various trophies.
Generally very technical players are short like Maradona or Messi and they are limited phisically what makes Ronaldo special is the combination of exceptional technical prowess and exceptional phisycal prowess that made him unstoppable and the more complete player ever and one of the greatest of all time (in my opinion the greatest).
The balon d'or is not a competiton trophy it's a prize assigned by a group of journalists so it doesn't mean much.

To answer the question, if Cristiano Ronaldo played any other sport instead of football he would've been the GOAT in that sport. He's a winner and superior athlete than any other human being. This man would beat any team in the most difficult and stressing scenarios, he's clutch.
However, Messi is the best to ever touch the ball in this game. He can create attacking situations from the midfield, assist, dribble and many things CR7 can't do while scoring as much or more goals than him. We will see many Cristiano Ronaldo's (we've seen some already, players like Mbappe and Haaland share some qualities with Ronaldo) but we will NEVER see anybody playing like Messi ever again, not in this planet at least.

Proven scorer: Headers, Free Kicks, Left foot, Right foot, Penalties, tap ins, his ability to read the play before it happens is out of this world! I’ve watched him since his first game in Man Utd when I was a little kid and these statements about Ronaldo not having playmaking skills is comical. He gives some of the best passes and crosses out there. On top of all of that, he is a great leader and motivates his teammates when they all have their heads down, just the determination and motivation to be great puts him ahead of the rest.
