Laura, sometimes I can hardly believe how much I look forward to your daily posts. There is no one in the gardening world who makes their posts as interesting and as fun to watch as yours. I have truly enjoyed the transformation of your property and look forward to everything you do in the future. By-the-way, I am 81 and if you are going to work on that house of yours and I am going to get to see it…you are going to have to get busy.🥰
Have you watched Jenny at Creekside? She's a hoot, and their gardens are beautiful ❤
@@dianequist835 yes…I watch her posts. She is really sweet and her gardens are beautiful.
Well I am 79, so start soon!
A low large bowl with just a light bubbler that water Lillie’s could grow in would look amazing there🪷🪷🪷
It would also give the humming birds a place to visit!
Was thinking something similar -like those reflecting ponds! so peaceful .
Great idea!
Or just a bubbler with no plants in it. But definitely a low bowl with bubbler!
Yes!
The most beautiful flowers you are nurturing in this video is the children! They bring a smile to my face every time they are there.
Most of us use a shopping cart, Laura and Aaron use a fork lift! 😄
And if we all admitted it, we'd use forklifts too 😂
LOL
And did you notice how well she can drive it with one hand the camera in the other hand?! 💪🏻
Laura can do it all, such a hard worker! 🪴💚
😂🤣 True!!
Isn’t it fun to have a beautiful garden tour to go on every day? A true gardener’s dream come true.
Hi Laura,
Could it be that when you pull back from Douglas he might not swiping at you, but trying to ask you to continue to pat him? He is a beautiful cat.
PS: Loved the up close beautiful little faces of your children at one point in this video. So sweet.
I just added a comment about that I think that his way of saying do it again
Well, I think not. When he thinks your going to leave , he attacks! Mine does anyway.
Mine takes a gentle swipe at my hand, more of a pat really, when I stop petting her. She’s definitely telling me she wants more of my time and attention.
@@gafairbanks2434 I had a cat that would swipe but she wanted me to continue to pat her. That said, I agree with you, every cat has its own personality, as does every person that associates with it. It’s just a perception. I posted it in hope that it would be a helpful consideration, it was not intended to be dismissive.
Kudos Laura for your "make it happen" mind set!
No centerpiece for the new circle garden? No problem, Laura will create one.
Not enough plants for the outer ring? No matter, Laura will just scavenge some from other locations.
Not enough daylight to complete the project? No chance of that! This project will be top dressed with compost and everything blown clean before Laura puts her camera down. Thank you Laura for making your visions come to life and sharing them with us 😊
She and the team are all hard working for sure!
Douglas is just like my outdoor boy Jack. One of his nicknames is "crabby." He used to do the same thing- requested pets and then would grab your leg and run. Happy to report that he has grown out of it!
I had a cat who would do that. He loved cuddles but would randomly just bite and run. And I swear to you, he found it humorous. He never grew it out of it either lol.
@@saltycat662 yes! I have a 15 year old Siamese mix who still has not outgrown this behavior either 😆.
@@Stephanie-cq8mf Same here, our Max an indoor cat not as old but feisty like that and unpredictable when he will swat at us after giving him a generous amount of petting!😁
I have a bite scar from one of my moms crazy rescue cats. I walked up the stairs and one minute he was loving and then he jumped, put his paws around my calf and struck. Dang he got me good and that was enough for me to ever trust him again.
DOUGLAS…his “grabs” are defensive moves until he’s totally trusting of you…my personal opinion is if you show him that those don’t bother you and give extra ❤❤… he will RELAX around you more & eventually stop.
The patio looks phenomenal and love the plants in the center. Benjamin loves his little sister. So much room to play outside. It’s awesome.
Good morning 🌞 The circle turned out beautiful. I loved the children's video bomb lol. They are precious. Have a blessed day. 😊
That was impressive, Laura! Driving and shifting between 4 gears with only one hand, all the while filming with the other? Dang, girl!
I love how Douglas just showed up one day, said… “oh, nice digs” and decided to stay ❤
A little splash pad for the kids would be fun while you are deciding what to do in this space. Can imagine how much fun the kids could have with friends plying in a splash pad.
Having just water basin would be lovely. Plus a place to grow small waterlillies and marginal plants.
The patio is just lovely. You know that I am the biggest fan of all those square trip hazards being gone. You can tell the way the kids are having fun that this space will be a nice family fun and gathering area. You might be able to save those rocks around your tree for your new pond area.😀😀
🦋Good morning from Michigan everyone. The “circle view” is stunning and the plants will be gorgeous. Hi Douglas and Russell. Enjoy a great day friends💚🌼🌸🐝
Good morning everyone! Have a blessed day ❤️🤗🙏 I love the round bed and so happy you kept the pink begonias Such a beautiful color pop!❤
You too! 💖
I agree with you! It pops!
The brick patio is so beautiful Laura! What a difference it made to the space. I love the circle of plants!
Speaking of seeing how it will look when it grows up a bit, I can't believe how fast the kids are growing! I remember before Benjamin was born. Time flies.
Douglas reminds me of my son's cat. He's loving a cuddly and then suddenly lashes out and bites or scratches. I love him but I'm very careful with him. Your explanations of the choices you make are so helpful Laura! You're very articulate and easy to listen to. Again, awesome garden! You make me happy every day!💕
Where did Douglas come from? Such a cutie!! LOVE seeing Benjamin and Samantha Grace running around the circle and making faces in the camera. I am happy to see this circle getting planted again! Each area of your garden is unique and I love the ways you keep after them with plants ❤! I LOVE being able to visit your garden sanctuary every day. Thank you Laura and Aaron for ALL that you do and share with us! Eternally grateful!!😊
He just showed up on the chaise in the sun porch one day a couple of years ago.
Laura introduced Douglas in December 2021
Garden Answer
Dec 2, 2021
This is Douglas. Just like Cheddar, he showed up one day early this spring (curled up on the chaise lounge in the front sun porch to be exact) and just kind of stuck around. I honestly don't know if he belongs to someone else- he is very sweet and looks good- but he certainly spends the bulk of his time here (much to the dislike of Russell & Cheddar). Anyway, I thought I would make the introduction since he has made himself more and more of a presence. So, apparently we have 3 cats now...
Thank you. Was just going to ask how Russell and Douglas
got along😅❤
I have to say that is so precious to see your little daughter playing in the dirt 😍 it brings back such fond memories of all my delicious mudpies I would serve it for my mom and dad 💕 you live The Good Life 🥳
Went thro a mental health crisis after surgery and couldn’t bring myself to watch YT. I was feeling a lot of FOMO. I am so thankful to be well again to be able to watch GA. I love beginning my day with you guys. Have for YEARS. ❤
Take care God bless
Me too!
Benjamin is getting so tall, I haven't watched in a bit and I was shocked with his growth spurt! Lovely family!
Is there a funnel attachment for that tractor? 😂 Also, does anyone else fall asleep to reruns of Garden Answer? Whenever insomnia hits, the soothing sound of Laura's voice expressing delight over dahlias lulls me off every time!! 💕
I totally take naps to old Garden Answer episodes. The 20-30 minute timeframe of most videos is absolutely perfect for afternoon power naps 😁
Oh my goodness, yes! 😊
I do too!
Such a sweet comment!
I usually select a garden tour to watch when going to bed. They’re long enough that I don’t have to find a new video before falling asleep.
This was fun seeing plants in the circle in the new patio! The kids are always a delight and their antics were adorable. Plus, we got to see all three cats!!! Russel never disappoints when he shows up in nearly every video, Cheddar made a quick appearance, and, we finally got to see Douglas!!! I laughed when he swiped at you after you told us how wild he can be! Always look forward to my morning cup of coffee with Garden Answer!
Oh that little snippet of Samantha and Ben right in front of the camera was adorable!
Who else wants to go out and dig up a new circle garden and plant something like this?!? 😊
Loved getting to know Douglas a little better.
Super fun video!
OHMYGOSH! You two are awesome!!! I can run your channel all day long. Love hearing you and Aaron on the weekly recaps. I just wanted you two to know how much you have inspired me and that i think you both are super awesome! Your children are a joy to watch. I have two grands i keep 4 days a week. Oldest is 6 and his baby sister just turned two.
Everything y'all do is amazing. I love everybit of everything you do.
Thank you so much for your giving souls. You help so many people and your community. Thank you for all you do and making so many smiles in this world🩷🩷🩷
Sorry so long just had lots to tell you. AND i have learned SO MUCH from y'all...yes, I'm a true southerner. Born and raised in TN. 7a
I think the King Tut added a level of informality and whimsey to area. Really like simplicity there! Restraint is a beautiful thing!
You have so much energy, Laura. The circle looks wonderful now. And I love the “busy work” music while watching the kids chase each other. Thanks for sharing!
Looking into that high tunnel is like walking into a CANDY STORE! SO BEAUTIFUL and EXCITING!!
The circle looks so pretty!! I like how Samantha Grace just sits down at the edge of the circle and starts playing in the dirt .😂 We all got to see some cute little faces in the video today also. I love how the kids run around on the bricks and play with each other.😊❤. Now let's see where you put the climbing roses.
I'm really glad you used the pink begonia as it compliments the brick work beautifully ❤
Hi everyone.
I loved this video for what it is. I also love it when the kids and the rest of your family are in videos. That's partly why I watch your videos.
Thanks👍👍👍👍🥰🇨🇦
What a beautiful planting in the brick patio area.
So much fun watching Benjamin and Samantha running and playing. Then Samantha notices the dirt …"sorry Benjamin I must check out this dirt". She sure likes to get her hands in the dirt like Laura.
What a load of plants from Monrovia. You will be so busy filling up some blank spaces in your garden. Hope Nature's Willow sends you a supply of pain relief products.
OMGOSH! I thought the same thing. I’d be so stiff! How does Laura do all of that day after day?! She must be so strong!
I was thinking the same thing my back would be hurting.
Tell Monrovia they can send me plants anytime 😅. They look wonderful. Love seeing the kids outside enjoying time with you.😊
Good Morning! 🌞 I love the brick patio! That was a huge plant load!! Love those roses!! The round garden is gorgeous, so pretty! Love the close-up of Benjamin & Samantha! 😍🌹💚🌿
So fun to come along with you this summer on this journey of transformation in so many new areas❣️. The kids have so many places to explore. Love when the kitties scroll through🎉
Such beautiful editing today Ken, especially loved the sped up part with the kids running in circles. Joyful moments like that in so many videos; chef’s kiss as they say.
I was honeslty a little dissapointed when I saw where that dirt wasa going because that space just NEEDS a water feature - but it's only temporary, so rejoice! It looks fabulous, thanks for thinking of us as you're planning your planting. It's the little things that make this channel feel like home 🥰
He is a beautiful cat - many time they swipe at you when you stop petting, they don't want you to stop (sometimes not) but he looked like he wanted some more!
What a fun day! Loving the circle patio planting. Going to be gorgeous for sure. The roses on that plant delivery are so sweet looking. Be a fun project no doubt. Hello kiddos!! Good job on helping Mama and Daddy!👋 😊💜
Oh how pretty. A black pond with fountains on the edges would be perfect. Low height and no color to interfere.
How fun to have a whole pallet of "unknown " garden plants" show up !
Love that you “stole” plants from other areas! You crack me up Laura! It’s looking gorgeous and I agree- you want the view of the Hartley. 🤗
It must be really great to receive this large amount of plants from Monrovia.
It’s beautiful and love the king tut! You are such a busy bee! The children were having such fun. Lots of memories to be had in that space! 💕🌸🌻
Driving that forklift like a boss! Also, SO in love with that circular flower bed. It's gorgeous.
This part of your gardens is my favorite. I love the multi trunk trees and the brick patio with little glimpses of the other garden areas.
Oh how I dream of random trucks just showing up with pallets full of plants! Have you thought of putting a raised lily garden in the center of the patio? That would be beautiful with the Hartley in the background and a stone walled lily pond with water lilies, water poppies, and water hyacinth (my favorite) floating on top. Kind of like the lily pond at New York Botanical Garden but on a much smaller scale. With the sound of a small fountain in the center, that would make for such a relaxing, serene place to just sit with a summer cocktail and stare across it at that beautiful Hartley!
Oh Laura I am so happy you made a new circle flower bed in the middle of your new patio area, I just love it. Stunning!
OMG Laura… that new circle looks SOOOOO GORGEOUS!!! Love it!!! You have such great taste!
The patio area is gorgeous, I love how the bricks came out. The plants look beautiful, but a fountain will be spectacular! ❤
Good morning, Laura ☕️ How exciting! Great idea 💡 using the King Tut Grasses 🌾 because that will help you in deciding the height you wnat for the fountain ⛲️. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
Good morning Laura and Aaron! Such fun to see Samantha playing in the dirt. That girl loves her some dirt! Also, Benjamin and her running cicles while you planted. Such happiness. Hugs from N.C..❤️
The patio area is gorgeous. I love how the bricks came out and the plants look beautiful, but a fountain will be spectacular! ❤
Yeah , a waterlily pond with a low bubbler would be beautiful and elegant in front of the Hartley!
I had a kitty once that played that way. She would jump out at me from the dining room table and grab my legs. I had a long robe on, so her claws never got me. She was a good kitty!❤
Whoa! What a gorgeous brick patio with a gorgeous bed area. I love the plant selection for this bed. You guys are going to appreciate and enjoy this area so much!
Your children are precious. It's so sweet how they come hang out with their momma for a little while as she is gardening. ❤❤❤
Happy Garden Answer o'clock!
❤ so lovely when the kids 👧 👦 and cats 🐈😻 show up ❤
Glad to see Douglas again and Russell just a mama's boy. 💜🐈The circle is gorgeous!..
Where did Douglas come from ?
Douglas showed up a couple of years ago. Laura found him napping in the sun porch. I guess Russell accepted him too. There is also one black and white cat also that's there now also. Cheddar just showed up first a couple of years ago. Benjamin named the black and white one, but I don't remember his name. Goodness that's a lot of garden kitties!
@@salimorton641isn’t it named “No”
The black and white cat was in a video with Benjamin and Laura. Just don't remember, sorry. Might be in the older videos. I would have to hunt for it.
Aaron nailed the description of those beautiful plants! The kiddos are so funny!😊
The way my brain pictures a formal fountain basin with water lilies floating in this spot. 🥰
For a water feature, I suggest a gorgeous big rock with a vertical hole drilled through it. Water comes up through the rock and washes over it on all sides like a curtain waterfall, down into a basin or grate. 😀
I had a cat like Douglas too, Ling. She would do that swiping thing, and I finally figured out she was not ready for me to stop petting her, and that was her way of saying it.
My dog Zelda loves your channel. When she hears your voice, she starts looking for Russell. When she sees him, she starts whining. Seriously, I love what you did to this space. Simple but impactful!
Hi Laura and Aaron! The plants from Monrovia are really nice. The circle turned out really pretty. I like the idea of using something low with water in that area. Thank you so much for sharing!
Yes, a large sphere bubbler with a low basin would look amazing in the center of the patio area. It would mirror the curves & globes you already have around that area. Great idea! Love the cute neighboring fluff ball. He'll need to learn how to be nice to earn future closeups! BTW, we just ordered a Hoselink for our house! So excited to pull out & retract that hose for the first time. Now we need a piece of 4x6 wood to mount it on! Thanks for all your inspiration. :D
Yay!!! A new Laura and Aaron Show!!!
Tfs your beautiful world!☮️💖🙏🇺🇲✌️
I love seeing your babies pop in and out of the video.! ❣ Just like my babies a few years back. I would love to see a video of you interviewing Benjamin. Would you ever consider, or is this too invasive? They are just so fun at that age and their enlightened answers to simple questions like how old is mom, what is your favorite...Anyways, Love you guys and I hope to watch you for years to come.
Evening Everyone 🍃🌸🍃
I agree with your fountain choice, keeping it shorter--so much fun watching your garden grow! 🌼🌺🌻
What a fun effect to insert a coy themed fountain. It would introduce fish and then when you actually create your pond in the back grounds, it would become cohesive. You could also introduce other sculptures which are fish themed for a more masculine touch to your property.
This was beautiful to watch as you worked out your design for the circle area. Fantastic colors. And loved watching the kiddos running around ❤️
I can't even explain the feeling I get watching the Beauty that you create. 😊
I love watching the children play, watching the planting process and of course the end result. ❤
On another note, Monrovia must have figured out what you have done for Proven Winners Marketing and want a piece of the pie. 😂😂😂
Earlier this year, my sister commented to me, after we went to the Grand Garden Show last August, that she has become a "Proven Winners" plant snob. I have to agree, I was a "Proven Winners" snob even before the show. I have grown Monrovia before, but I must say, Proven Winners is almost "Foolproof." I have killed a few, but it was totally "User Error" aka "Neglect"
I found Proven Winners from your Channel and have not looked back.
Thank you for ALL you guys do and sharing it with us.
❤❤❤
The life you’ve created for yourself, well done. The shelter full of plants, how fun.
I think it is just gorgeous I love this whole combo...its so nice that all 3 cats came for a visit ...
I love that you had to steal plants from other already planted areas. ☺
Everything is looking so beautiful and that King Tut grass is perfect there! I am just loving seeing the kids enjoying time outside with you two this year. And Douglas too, just like a cat, doesn't know what he wants lol. Thank you for giving him love and a home with you all there.
Oh Oh big boy toys today ! Morning Laura , Aaron and fellow gardeners!
Bubbling rock!!! A big beautiful bubbling rock would look so pretty, it would break up the formality and add a touch of wild while adding to the beauty of the area
Excited to see that sunflower Brown eyed girl. I’ve grown it for the last two seasons and it is awesome! It gets huge and always is covered in blooms. Love it! Circle looks great 😊
My 2 newest strays will enjoy being loved up, then do the exact same swipe.i used to avoid the paw, but they didn't follow thru with any real attack. I have learned that this is an effort to keep the petting continuing, not really aggression, as in "keep going, i didn't say you could stop."
Laura filming while driving the forklift is such a boss move! Laura is my hero 😍🤩❤
Love the new patio area! Just loving all the new things you all are getting “buttoned up”.
What a great video! Beautiful plants, fun plant delivery, happy kids playing, kitties being adorable and naughty, but most of all your genuine joy of planting. Thank you for starting my day with such inspiration. Can’t wait to see what you do next! 💕❤️
Yea....now that's what I'm talking about! You can SEE your talent without boxwoods hiding your talent!
Waitaminuuuuuute…. I’ve been watching your channel for how many years and I just NOW realized your 4wheeler’s bed is a dumper?!!!!!! 😳🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 I think that is my fave accoutrement on your whole property!
Circle garden looks great, Laura. Brick patio is beautiful. Center garden makes a huge difference.
The circle of plants looks beautiful! Great choices of plants. How nice of Monrovia to send such a load of beautiful plants! I'm looking forward to seeing how all the roses do.
For the future water feature, how about a medium to large concrete ball with water coming out of the center? That would be elegant in my opinion.
Laura, I love how versatile you are with all of the tasks needed on the property.
It was beautiful to see the kids at play while mom & dad took care of business. These are deep memories being developed in Benjamin & Samantha. How lovely to have your family together instead of at a nursery or someone else's home. ❤
As a child I was SO much like that I LOVED playing in the dirt it smelled SO wonderful! My stepfather loved roses and introduced me to the joy of gardening. I never realized back then what it would mean to me one day 😊
This project is so beautiful. Samantha and Cheddar are loving this. Such a breath-taking scene with the Hartley.
Laura, how about a low round water feature that would reflect the Hartley in the water. The Tazzo bowl from Unique Stone is an example. Possibly?
The brick work is beautiful! Your plants in your new circle look amazing.
It looks soooo pretty 😍
Much better than the old patio ❤
Douglas doesn't want you to stop giving him a love up. I feed an abandoned cat whom has bitten me at least twice, the last time drawing blood from 3 of his teeth. I rubbed over the spot with raw garlic. I was afraid of him a bit after that but I never stopped giving him the contact that he so desperately desired. He's all good now.🌺 🌸💮💜🙏😇🇦🇺🕊️
I love seeing Russell and Cheddar in your videos. Another great video Laura!
and lately a few appearances from Douglas - love it :)
I have a Maine Coon mix like Douglas and he loves to attack the legs and ankles for no reason and their teeth are quite vicious! Douglas is a beautiful boy. I love all your videos; you have so many beautiful gardens and the Hartley is breathtaking.
