Family Matters followed the Winslow family in their home life. There was son Eddie, played by Darius McCrary, and daughter Laura, cast by Kellie Shanygne Williams, and for the first four seasons, the youngest daughter named Judy, along with a few other family members who lived with them as well. It was a light and easy wholesome show with a loving family. In every episode, something small would happen, like the kids having trouble with school, or a bigger issue, like Harriette losing her job. No matter what happened, though, the family got through it together, coming together, talking it out, learning a lesson, and then ending the episode with a hug as the audience clapped.

JoMarie fought with higher ups to try & keep Jamiee on the show. No other cast member fought for Jamiee on the show. JoMarie was the only one who was on Jamiee's side. I admire JoMarie for that.
Yes She should Stay on that show and Fight It would be nice to see her grew up in the show all the way to the last season. But they do not do that. Now she's older now she can make her own show.
Judy should have been there for family events or holidays or when the family went on trips and vacations or at least explained her absence.
And no other productions didn't open doors for Jaimee to have her stay in the game.
I have mixed feelings about the cast members speaking up. But as far as the reruns are concerned, I think that we as viewers should not support watching any reruns. The people behind the scenes don't realize that the actors and actresses are receiving the attention and also the blame simply because the actors and actresses are out front. Getting rid of Judy was done in poor taste. They could have at least re-cast the "Judy" character.
I remember an interview (I can't remember who it was with) where Jamiee's mom was negotiating her contract and demanded more money than the producers thought she was worth, and she refused to budge.
Even if her mom did want Jaimee to get more money, that still wasn't a reason to ax her.

@@josephclegg3562well maybe not to you, but according to the producers she was a pointless character and Urkel was becoming the star of the show so they had to drop someone to make more room for him
@nsasupporter7557 l understand what you're saying, but why established her character as being part of the family if they are only gonna get to oust her later and don't even mention her.
@@josephclegg3562 well unexpected things happen all the time, like unexpected change. They only planned on having Urkel for like 1 or 2 episodes but instead he became the whole show… which was completely unexpected. So due to positive feedback about Urkel, they wanted to get rid of another character to make more screen time for Urkel. Judy wasn’t the only one who vanished… Rachel and mother Winslow also pretty much disappeared, now they didn’t completely vanish like Judy did, but we definitely didn’t see them very much anymore either
Something could have been done to keep Judy on Family Matters
She's not the first child to disappear from a show like they were never there.
Anybody remember "Chuck Cunningham", Richie and Joanie's older brother from "Happy Days"?
2 episodes and gone. Like he was never born. Never spoke about again.

Cosby Show was the opposite. There were only 4 kids with no mention of older daughter Sondra in the pilot back in '84. (Clair: "Why do we have four children?" Cliff: "Because we did not want to have five." )She didn't show or was not even mentioned til ep 10 of S1.

They least could of gave a reason why Judy in the show like they could said she went to moved to another state to move with in With other relatives or all girls school how they could of dressed it up instead of just having her disappear with no explanation and they caused her to go astray
I can't believe I never notice Judy being missing and I watched it till the end.
Then you must’ve not payed much attention to it when watching it! 😳 how could you not notice that she disappeared in the middle of it! I loved it and I watched it religiously as a kid and I wondered why Judy was no longer on it in the later seasons
I love this show from the beginning to the end Jamie foxworth who played Judy Winslow on family matters she was a great actress she deserves my respect and finally she when upstairs and never heard from again without a trace without the permission them producers did her dirty she deserves to come back to the sitcom back to the show.
Jaimee should write a book, but her mom wouldn’t like it!

I loved both Full House and Family Matters, but I didn’t ever watch the other show… Step By Step. It just never appealed to me, I don’t know why
I have watched this show for years and I was wondering what if Jaleel white was not in the show what would happen and next question is , when Jaleel played Myrtle and Steve in some scenes who were there doubles?
It would have been canceled, and I hated hearing how much of a tyrant Jaleel was behind the scenes. But respect has to to be given, that show would have been canceled without Jaleel!

I’m not gonna lie… Waldo actually overshadowed Urkel on the show. They were both hilarious, but they were the complete opposites and Waldo’s “dumb persona” made Urkel look normal. Waldo stole scenes from Urkel
