People assume every child actor is forced to by the parents, instead of the parents recognizing their child’s talent and actually helping them to encourage it. I think Richie and Rachel should have been written out instead of Judy. It would have made more sense, cause there disappearance wouldn't have mattered, but Judy had already been established as one of the Winslow kids. I feel like if the producers thought that the Judy character wasn't needed, then they shouldn't have never created her character from the beginning, and what really makes it bad is that they brought in 3J that Carl and Harriette adopted in season 8. If the producers felt like Carl and Harriette didn't need more kids, then why bring in 3J? He was definitely not needed. His character didn't do much for show anyways.

Good Morning You're speaking facts. It didn't make sense to write Judy off but bring in Orlando seasons later. Jo Marie who played Harriett was against the producers firing Jamie and she told the producers that the fans aren't dumb and stupid and they're gonna notice that she's gone. She said that the only way she would take part in a Family Matters reunion is that Jamie must be included and Jo Marie also revealed that she was also let go herself and replaced after she wanted to start writing and directing episodes. I feel that they could have explained her absence with the storyline of her going to a private or boarding school instead of not explaining her missing presence. She shouldn't have been let go at all

i was so in love with this show when i was a little girl and i was the youngest in my family so i remember when she disappeared i kept asking my mama like where did judy go?! and she was like 'i dont know and we might not want to know since no one has said anything' mind you this was before you could google someone's name and find their whole history lol i am so sad that she went through so much but am happy to see things got better and support her 100% in coming out with her story!!
Smh. The first time we saw an episode without her, by the end of the season we were wondering if she died. It wasn’t until the porn scandal that I found out she was wrongfully fired. She should definitely audition for more roles and get back to work. She’s overcome so much and I’m sure she’s not blacklisted. I've heard that Jaleel White hated playing Myrtle when Myrtle Urkel made her debut. He didn't want to play Myrtle again after her debut episode. I don't know what changed his mind, but he didn't reprise her role until later seasons.

We paid for professional shots and we went to an agency party where I saw Laura from the show and also Hilary from Fresh Prince. "Hilary" came up to me and my mom and complemented my hair. It was long with 3c curls. I remember seeing Laura accept an award up at the podium for something. Those are the only things I remember. Hilary was super kind but I was a very shy girl. We went to an open call for a toothpaste commercial and I was too scared to do it. I enjoyed the modeling part but after hearing about all of these poor child actors, I'm glad I wasn't a willing performer. I've never been that way.

He was the star of the show and everybody there knew it and even he is having issues. The only advice I could ever give a child star is save as much and invest as much as you can because you never know when it will end.

My Dad used to say that when people are getting accused of things, listen carefully to what their response will be. If they say, with anger and vigor, that is not true and want their day in court, then they're probably telling the truth. If they keep being vague and saying things like "oh, they're just crazy" or "people will try to say anything when you're on top" without actually denying things then they're probably lying.

In the 90's-2000's...i used to want to be in entertainment myself as a young black male. Either modeling/music/acting...tried all 3. But i personally found it wasnt for me. Now i see how some child stars were treated behind the scenes. The money discrepancies, drug abuse, sexual abuse, the back stabbing.. its crazy. You gotta be a certain kinda person and have a stong core of ppl backing you up. Not everybody can be Denzel or Sam Jack.
I remember Jamiee saying it was because she had no major lines and not one episode was based around her. I would never say anyone wasn’t molested because they didn’t speak out when it happened. But I do wonder being in this type of field, why would you wait so late to tell your truth. I believe something happened, hence several of their behaviors after the show.
You need to do a story about Parent Hood with Robert Townsend and what happened to his son Michael on the show and did he get replaced by the street dude TJ
The Judy character was destined for doom. Anyone who knows how TV worked back then have vast knowledge of the polls networks would do. If a character on a show scored low in polls they would phase them out. Judy’s character was literally the lowest on the totem pole. You have Steve, Eddie, Laura, The Father, The Mother, The Aunt, The Aunt’s son, Grandma, then Judy. This is how most liked the characters on that show in order. Those polls destroyed her image to the executives. They only financially back something that will bring them a return! Judy got hit by this and her mother’s mouth against the executives. The combination of those two situations created the final scene for Judy where she walked up the stairs forever. She was a child at that time and had no real say or much knowledge other than what her mother told her. So I doubt she fully understands what really went on behind the scenes. Not doubting her claims. Just saying her future on that show probably had less to do with her making the accusations against an executive and more to do with her likability!
That’s ashame that she was molested by a Family Matters Executive!! My heart breaks cuz nobody should have to endure that. The cosby show dropped a daughter too and golden girls had a gay male character that never returned after one episode. But never dropped someone after 4 seasons. If they were not using her they could have wrote more lines for her or sent her off to camp or something. Even actors who rasied hell on sets and where dismissed at least had a plot explaining where the character went
When i was little i got offered lead role in a Disney film... I'm talking LEAD. I was in elementary school.
I turned it down because i saw too many teens and young adults in Hollywood going thru this.
