In my opinion the female GOAT and overall one of the most technically sound Mixed Martial Artists I've ever seen man or woman, so good across the board and so utterly dominant. Her striking is beautiful, the way she sets up her strikes, produces consistently crisp counters and manages distance is incredible to watch and the fact she can take the fight to the ground and grapple arguably as well is amazing. The complete package and she's going to continue to dominate for a even longer to come; simply head and shoulders above the competition and my personal favourite fighter to watch in the UFC.

I think she's the BEST female fighter to have ever fought, but Amanda is still the goat. Amanda has literally beaten every champion at women's bantamweight and featherweight other than pena. Plus she has 2 wins over valentina (regardless of who anyone thinks won their 2nd fight officially it's a win for Amanda). If they both BELONGED to the same weight class I believe valentina would beat her pretty easily, so skill wise it's pretty clearly in the bullet's favour. But based on their respective resumes Amanda is the goat. Valentina best pfp. Just my two cents

First fight with Nunes was close, but Valentina won the second fight against the lioness.... and you can tell, when they announced Nunes as the winner Nunes' reaction was pure shock.

@@vicentegeonix I don't think anyone should consider the view of Sal D'Amato (judge who scored the fight for Nunes) as legitimate, considering he's the worst judge in MMA history.
Actually, go look at the official fight stats, Amanda had heavier and more strikes in more rounds.
@@kamrond13 That's not true at all. Also stats don't tell everything, they count all significant strikes as the same when in reality (as in watching the video) thats simply not the case. Amanda did not win 50-45 or 49-46, she lost the fight because Valentina landed the cleaner, harder strikes.

Shevchenko: Yes.
She was national champion in judo of her home country Kyrgyzstan. A lot of people seemed to think she would be doomed if anyone ever took her down. She has been grappling as long as she has been into kickboxing, but she is known more for her striking because she competed in pro kickboxing at a high level.
@@AKSBSU One thing I've noticed though is that she's a bit too comfortable when on her back. She's content to try and submit the person on top and land strikes from that position. And if she can't do that will ride out the round (likely dropping it in the judges eyes) with the person on top instead of looking for sweeps or escapes beforehand. Unless that changes, it does leave her potentially vulnerable to a lay and pray wrestler.

She won that 2nd fight against Amanda. When I re-watch it, it is Clear as day! I can't believe she fought Nunes her 2nd fight and Holly Holmes in her 3rd. These fights weren't in her natural weight class too. Wow. She is so impressive and talented in so many areas of MMA.

It's not clear it was a close fight which I think Valentina won.
If someone ever wanted to show someone what mixed martial arts was in its purest form, show them a Valentina Shevchenko fight. No wasted movement, perfect technique, unmatched precision, and extreme cardio and durability.

Valentina was getting massively underrated, particularly by those on the Nunes bandwagon. She was at a massive size disadvantage at 135 every fight. She is a natural 125-lb fighter who has been competitive against women who have competed at 135 and even 145 lbs like Holm and Nunes.
Yet she won against Holmes and pena at 135

@@itsreason3238 Some consider Valentina to be the most dominant champion in women's MMA and question if anyone in the entire division can even give her a suitable challenge, let alone defeat her. That's quite a different tone than we saw a few years ago when she was fighting opponents that outweighed her by 20 lbs or more, which is an enormous amount for WMMA. I think most have a general sense that she is one of the best in WMMA currently as well as one of the best of all time now.

It’s crazy that Valentina was as good at 135 as she was considering how small she is for that division. Natural 125er and her biggest wins there are women who fought at 145. And she definitely won that second fight with Nunes, Val’s skill level in striking is incredible. Technically, she’s so far ahead of everyone

She's the absolute BEST female fighter of all time in terms of skills. A perfect MMA fighter. She needs few more big names in her record and maybe another division belt to become the GOAT but regardless, she's the female GOAT for me.

I have to put Valentina over Nunes as the greatest female MMA. Valentina won the 2nd fight in my eyes while being the smaller fighter. If they were the same size, Valentina wins with ease.

She didn't deserve to get the judges decision that night, and the argument that she did is damaged when factor into the credibility of Sal D'Amato as a judge who scored the fight for her, as he's one of the worst judges in MMA history.

The game will catch up, trust me. Valentina is pioneer, women as of now aren't as far advanced as men in the sport of MMA, just because they haven't had the time. But give them a few years and you'll start seeing mini Valentina's popping up everywhere

Amandas skills are great but its been proven if she doesn't get the KO she fades. Fortunately she usually exhausts her opponent first so it works for her.
Valentina had only lost by decision... to Amanda. She is so good at neutralizing her opponents strengths and does it SO well.
Your statement on Amanda is false, Amanda has proven that she can hang for five rounds against people, GDR and Felicia Spencer proved that, along with the second Shevchenko. The problem is that she moved down to bantamweight after getting acclimated to featherweight for a year, a simple weight cut was definitely gonna affect her durability and cardio. She doesn't need to KO people in order to win. The Pena fight didn't prove that she needs a KO, it proved that you can't put on weight to move up a division and come back down without consequences

Valentinas only 135 losses were decisions against Amanda, the 2nd of which she actually outpointed amanda but lost anyway. Thats it... she has more success in 2 weight classes than Amanda.
Valentina outstriked Holly, a world class boxer, for 4 rounds. Holly is a Feather Weight Valentina a natural Flyweight. Again she submitted Juliana Peña, a wrestler also not small for a Bantamwight. Outstriked Johanna, outgrappled Jessica Andrade and arguably won the second fight against Amanda, who carries a right hand with man power like. Hope she beats all the flyweight newcomers in the next 2 years.

Most well rounded, intelligent and technically sound fighter in the ufc, I see no weaknesses in her game whatsoever, a true professional in every sense of the word in and out of the cage. I can't get enough of her, a joy to watch

Please watch the fight in full again. Peña is a grappler and they fought in her discipline for the entire match. Despite that, Valentina dominated the fight
Murphy had to be the worst I've seen face the bullet. She literally looked like she completely forgot how to fight . Her punches looked like she couldn't throw at all
Murphy even said in an interview she felt she couldn't do anything in the fight because Valentina would counter her all day.

There is no other MMA fighter whose wins and achievements I cherish as much as Valentina. There are many good fighters that I respect and they all train hard but Valentina really gives her everything - as far as I know she doesn't even have love affairs, no boyfriend, nothing like that because she's totally focused on her sport and I find this sacrifice outstanding. With so much renunciation of this sport, one can only have enormous respect.

This video has done a great service to women’s MMA, no doubt about it. I am proof. I’ve never had a bad word to say about women’s MMA, but I never really WATCHED it, it was kind of “oh, these are the fights that air before the ones I want to watch”. I’ve been subbed to the channel for a while (love the content btw) and have found that your thoughts and opinions regarding the sport are worth listening to. So, while I know I’m a year late, I knew that I should sit down to give it a watch. I can honestly say that I now have a newfound respect for women’s MMA. Had I not watched this, who knows if I would’ve ever actually WATCHED a women’s bout. I can only assume that this particular video has had a similar effect on others and again, I think that’s awesome! Keep doing what you’re doing.

She’s perfect for the Flyweight division but I really feel like she could easily beat Julianna Peña for the Bantamweight title given her skill sets and conditioning.
She is not used to Pena weight class, so likely she would lose. Btw, I love her.
