    For decades, I would scrub and use the baking/soda mix in my disposal. I did the ice method twice and it was perfectly clean!! Thank you

    The ice immediately jammed the garbage disposal. I got it running and it started spewing brown gunk and turned ice to slush. I had to let it all melt and then it ran clear. Thank you!! I look forward to no more odor.

    My problem is food sticking to the underside of the rubber retainer, can't figure out how this happens.

    Do you just start filming as soon as things start breaking around your house?

    • @MikeKlimek
      @MikeKlimek  Před 5 lety +4

      Sometimes yes...Customers generally don't appreciate filming in their homes, with the extra time etc.

    Does the rubber part comes off easily or is it better just buying a new rubber part

    I need help with mine please. My garbage disposal is so dirty inside that I can't even see the metal color anymore it's brown with gunk every where. The prior tennants were apparently gross. Anyway how is there a way to clean the inside BUT with a jam. So it disposal is not working at the moment. Thank you

      I would take it in 2 steps. First get the disposal running! Then you can try to clean/sanitize it. Watch this video on getting it running: czcams.com/video/6lx-QxkHX0E/video.html

    you don't use hot water _With_ the ice.. as it ...melts it ... add ice, salt, dish detergent, baking soda whatever detergens or abrasive media you want along with the ice... than once it's foamy and caked (and if it's really slimy and grungy, scrub it with a dish brush or whatever) but just simply throwing ice in it than running HOT water literally won't do anything in most cases, you have to time it better (you melted the ice too fast)

    How do you pull the rubber thingamajig out?

    • @MikeKlimek
      @MikeKlimek  Před 2 lety

      Most just pull out with your fingers (might want to wear a glove).

    • @hectorg.7282
      @hectorg.7282 Před 2 lety

      He has a removable one, this is actually not common, don't break yours. Also, never put ice in your disposal. You are not even supposed to put tough vegetables in there let alone a solid. I get that this hack works but so is cracking an egg with a sledgehammer on your counter (just because it gives you a desired outcome it does not mean you should do it).
      Putting ice in your disposal will shorten it's life considerably. But before it breaks, you will have dull blades that will not process the food and clog-up your drain and possibly your sewer line (yikes), and that can be way more expensive than a new disposal.
