@Mike Fence especially in cases where somethings recovery is justified as gods healing, but not the recovery is seen as not praying hard enough. It’s very toxic, but also to deny healing through others before they can be gods children as healers is so offensive.

This movie originally wasn't even supposed to be set in the future, originally the script was set in the present/modern era.
It's painfully obvious since the SciFi elements seem to be just there for decoration.
The voice box wouldn't have been realistic if its set in present times

Gives the movie a more unique aesthetic - there's no reason why movies can't take place in the future if the setting isn't important to me plot in any way.
