Please I'm lost because I'm new Chinese learner (mandarin) and I want a new Chinese series (not historical) that is not romance based, can be any genre, mature, you know no childish characters I know this is so picky, but I'm sensitive to cheesiness and clichés :')))) and I couldn't find any non-romance Chinese series, or movies As much as I love historical dramas, but the Chinese used is quite old and too formal, the story of yanxi palace was my first and only favorite (currently watching empresses in the palace) But I still love yanxi palace the most, I rewatched it twice lmao Thank you for the Playlist ♥️

Try Guardian. Another really good one is Arsenal Military Academy, there is romance in the story but definitely not cheesy.
