- This video shows targeted Face Yoga exercises that can help correct so called resting unhappy face, or resting sad face. Plus 🌸Check out my NEW FREEBIE below🌸!
🎥 In this video I show you five key exercises to help lift the mouth corners up naturally, so that the face appears more happy and content.
❗️Resting unhappy face is as facial expression that unintentionally appears as if the person is angry, annoyed, irritated or unhappy, at the time when the person is actually feeling relaxed and not expressing any particular emotion. I hear many women commenting on the fact that although they feel content and happy overall, their face doesn’t reflect this as their mouth corners point downwards creating an unhappy facial posture. The good news is such facial posture can be corrected by strengthening the muscles around the mouth Orbicularis Oris, and the cheeks muscles attaching to the mouth corners, we specifically going to target Risorius and Buccinator muscles.
😊The exercises create a natural lift in these muscles so that you become aware of the mouth corner positioning throughout the day and can freely engage the muscles into a more lifted position, thus creating a more positive looking facial expression.
✋We will also use a tapping technique to improve collagen around the mouth corners and finish with releasing facial tension around the areas we just strengthened.
You can do these exercises once a day, 6 days a week until the desired results are achieved.
Have a mirror handy, clean hands and let's get started! 💆♀️✨

This works! After a only a few days I saw some improvement in the droopiness of the corners of my mouth. Thank you Polina!
That's amazing 🌸 thanks for your feedback Elle!💆♀
Just saw this....soo excited to do! My face is pretty good but those down drooping corners I just really really hate and make me so self conscious 😮 I'm such a happy person...not fair
Hi Kathy 🌸 hope this helps you to work on the mouth corners to lift them and also bring more awareness to mouth posture 💆♀
I can smile again! Thank you for the great excercises. The muscles in my face were becoming very tight and I was having difficulty smiling. I look completely different after doing your exercises just twice.❤
Thanks for your feedback Diane, I’m so happy your face feels better after doing the exercises, great work ! Polina
I think that this is most helpful to us older ladies.
During exercizes I felt so god vibrations in my brain...THANK YOU
YOU'RE VERY FINE
Glad to hear you felt good vibrations during the exercises 💆♀🌸 thank you for leaving a comment🌷
Thank you very much
Great practice, my whole mouth area feels the workout 😊 thank you very much , exactly wha I needed 🙌
Great to hear 😀 delighted your mouth muscles have felt the workout !💆♀🌸
You are a true beauty
✨❣️✨
I feel like the most important stretch for my RBF is the one where you tilt your head back. And I really worked that stretch. I turn my head side to side while pulling down and massaging the muscles down the front of my neck, chin and chest.
Absolutely! The tension in the neck contributes greatly to added tension in the face so by releasing the neck muscles you are able to relax the tightness around the mouth corners and lower face will feel and look more balanced 😍
Thank you very much for this nice video 🌹🌹🌹💖💖💖
You're welcome Nowreen
Wow, it's the best exercise for my RBF.
Thank you🌸 glad you enjoyed it 💆♀
This is absolutely wonderful. Just what I’ve been needing. Thank you very much, Paulina. 👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Michelle, so glad you enjoyed it ! Polina
I'm tired of being unapproachable or looking "ugly" for my resting birch face. Hope this helps
I understand this long time ago, that's why i am never "afraid" of grumpy looking people. I have a friend with the nicest most natural smiley face, yet she is full of negativities and even mild depression. I don't have a happy look though not sad, yet I am very content and easy
I need this very badly! Thank you so much 💞
Me too
Your videos are better and better. Somehow they communicate to my top vertebrae responsible for the problems with my face and chacra imbalance.
I appreciate your comments Dana, and I’m happy the videos help you find balance not just in the face but also in the chakra alignment:) Polina
Love your videos can you do any on the nose muscles to keep it from getting wider and for droopy nose tips.... because as we age that slowly changes as well and your is so nice and shaped 😊 like your face if you can would be so appropriated
Glad you're enjoying the videos 🌸💆♀thank you for your good suggestion regarding the nose slimming video, I'll add this to my filming schedule and hopefully will be able to post it soon, stay tuned ! 😀
Unbelievable! Exercises for correcting RBF! (I've never heard of 'resting unhappy face' or 'resting sad face' ... 'resting b*tch face' is, however, very commonly used.)
Whichever way you call it, it's essentially still downturned mouth corners, something that can be corrected with proper face posture and a better state of mind. Polina
Make video on open pores reduction plz
❤
Hi Polina, thanks for the great video. My question, do you have a video or technique for asymmetrical mouth corners? I’m struggling to get my right mouth corner to lift as high as my left mouth corner.
Thanks for your question 🌸 I do have a video on the mouth corner lift which addresses asymmetry to some extent, you might like to take a look in the Mouth/Lips Section💆♀
Firstly I really enjoy your videos and find them helpful so thank you! However I have a question - in this and other videos there is an exercise involving making the mouth into an "O" shape. I have vertical lines along my top lip and am concerned that this shape is making the lines deeper. I am not able to make this shape without the existing lines on the top lip becoming more pronounced. Does doing this exercise deepen lines around the mouth?
Hi Lynette, and thanks for your feedback 🌸 your question is a good one ! when making the o shape, we try to not over-engage and pull into the existing lip lines. We also don’t stay in o shape for that long as the main exercise is to pull the mouth corners up and back to neutral and when you do this you should be feeling more flatness and tone around the top and bottom lip, rather then gathering into lines. I would recommend you try to make the o shape more flat (use mirror to observe) so that it’s not too tight leading to puckered lips , which hopefully will allow for smoother upper lip before mouth corners move up. Hope this helps!Polina

Sad resting face 😂 I didn't know there was a name for that.
😅💆♀🌸
Monday may 8th started, just want to mark it and see my results after a few weeks
That’s great Andrea, keep me posted of your progress :) Polina
I have been doing these exercises 5-6 times a week. Today is the 26th, so it’s about 2 and a half weeks. I do feel the muscles a bit stronger and I am more aware of my expression and fix my resting face consciously, haven’t seen lots of changes since I see my face every day. But I’m waiting if anyone comments on them, then I would be sure it worked haha
@@andreaguerrerovallejo7026 Excellent work Andrea, 2.5 weeks progress is a very good start, and glad to hear you feel the muscles strengthening. It’s always nice when someone you haven’t seen for a while comments on your more lifted appearance! Hopefully such day does come soon enough. Polina
any news..?
can u please do one for eyebrows. Cause i have a rbf and its in my brows cause i cant keep raising my brows all day and people think im rude and avoid me
Thanks for your comments. If your eyebrows are constantly raised, it means the forehead is in constant tension plus eye muscles are weak, so doing a video for the forehead (release tension) and eyes (strengthen the eye muscles) will help address the problem. See the forehead section on my channel 🌸💆♀
My temples sunk because of weight loss ,what to do mam?
Thanks for sharing your concern. It might be possible to fill out the sunken temples with some targeted exercises. Keep an eye on my channel for a new video coming soon on precisely this subject ! Polina
I know everyone is different but do you have an estimate on how long to see a difference? I will definitely be doing this as my permafrown affects the way I interact with everyone.
Hi Tess, it’s really individual as you say, but with regular routine of doing the exercises 6 times a week for 4 weeks you should start seeing improvements in the face posture and more strength in the cheek and mouth muscles. Consistency is everything with Face Yoga! Hope this helps. Polina
Please share your experience about this exercise did you see any improvement?
Same! Good luck to us!🤞🏼🤞🏼
I've been doing it over a month now after finally starting. It does look like the corners of my mouth are starting to turn up.
Also make sure your mouth area including chin is well moisturized and oil it if you have to allow it to move smoothly and freely.
I have a sad face because i cry for hours everyday for simple problems, so my face appears like crying when i am smiling, can u please help me??
Thanks for submitting a comment. The way our farce looks depends also on our emotional state, so when you’re feeling sad the face will likely to reflect that. It may have nothing to do with the downturn mouth corners and more with your emotions. I hope you find a way to address the sadness to feel happier in yourself and your face will reflect this and hopefully will settle into a more happier appearance. Hope this helps. Polina

Can you make a video on reducing pigmentation on the cheeks
Thanks for your suggestion, I'll be happy to film a video on reducing pigmentation in the skin, watch this space! Polina
hi, do you have botox in your forehead? and fillers under your eyes? plz guide.
I have none of these, my face is free of any "work" apart from natural face yoga exercises and massage which I do regularly. Polina
@@ElementalFaceYogawithPolina Well done to you for achieving such amazing results from face yoga. I'm your new subscribers. Your forehead muscles remain still, which is so good as it prevents lines and wrinkles. Do you intentionally avoid using some muscles of facial expressions? Plz guide.
@@sdocsydney5821 thank you 😊 I'm always aware of whether my face muscles are relaxed or engaged, this comes with practice and being able to 'feel' the face muscles freely. as you may know with the forehead it's easy to overuse the Frontalis muscle and that's why the wrinkles and lines form on the forehead, holding too much tension and over expressing. One of the aspects of face yoga which I teach in my online classes is precisely facial posture and correction. In my CZcams videos, I aim to showcase what such training can achieve! Polina
@@ElementalFaceYogawithPolina What moisturizing and skin care do you follow for the face?
@@gauthamworld I have simple skincare routine which includes cleanse, tone, serum, moisturiser and always high factor SPF for daytime. At night I swap moisturiser for the face oil. Hope this helps :) Polina
