nice shot and setup! I love your videos. Btw, have you tried the salvimar vpro 115cm and the atlantis 135cm? maybe you can give me tips on what to get between these two. thanks! Safe dive
I have a pathos 110 cm open carbon. It currently has 17.5 or 18mm bands and 7 or 7.25mm shaft (it was my first gun and spearamerica rigged it for me. Im not 100% sure of the specs). I am planning to get 14 or 15mm bands already. My question is: would the pathos roller conversion kit offer better performance than 2x14mm bands? Also, would a kicker band along with the roller band help? I wish I could test all these but I have no pool and not very many blue-water opportunities. Thank you. If it's of any importance, it's rigger with a meandros fire reel.
Nothing wrong with your eyesight ... yes that is CF wrapped. This is actually a build I did myself and is a replica of the Abellan but using the original trigger and muzzle etc... the gun is teak with CF reinforcement.
I really don't have a favorite gun as sometimes a 2 banded 80cm gun if more effective than a 140cm gun 3 banded gun. It really depends of the type of spearfishing you are doing. What is certain though is that you need a high properly ported handle and a good crisp and predictable trigger and some fresh small ID bands. This formula works from 60cm gun to any size up. Design is more important than brand name.
hello majd nice work i would like to thank you for your time and effort for bringing us the info, i would like to know how to get the small id bands online thank you
Hala ... I never tried the Bleutec King Cobra 120 ... but the Bleutec Raptor and Oceanborn are very good. The Abellan Denton 120 is also an excellent gun.
Thanks! It is all in the setup. As my tennis coach used to say ... 'The more you sweat on the practice field the less you bleed on the battle field'. 99% of being able to make such a shot possible is making sure you have the correct gun+band+shaft setup. This setup was heavily tuned and tested in the pool.
This is a custom Denton I built myself from Burmese Teak and then wrapped it with Carbon Fiber. The largest Denton is about 10cm shorter than this gun, but I think there is an Albacore which is same length (but much heavier). This gun shoots amazingly well as it pushes an 8mm shaft to Terminal Velocity with only 2 x 14.5mm bands.

I haven't tried any of those guns so not sure how they would do.

You can get them from spearitco.com ... they just got a huge batch of small ID 14mm bands and price is good.
