      I meant to make the point that the T-Shirts have the least effect on my running performance...and even a basic one, as long as it is not cotton and can wick away the sweat will work fine, I do like the brightly coloured ones. Looking forward to the Inov-8 one arriving soon. Lurid green to match the shoes

    Curios was that an assistant or the camera stand ' saying 'enough', ' I need a break'. at 3:27/29. Thank you again for a great post. I am the same re singlets, I have a couple (Saysky, Rockay & UA ). I can't personally justify the cost of Soar, but I am sure it's excellent stuff. You and Ben Felton both rate their gear.

    • @OldManRunner

      If only I had an assistant! Well apart from Quinn who I’m not lugging to the beach…You can find the Soar gear on sale on various internet sites every now and then… of all the things I have the T Shirts make the least difference to my running and the Craft and UA ones run well, have tons of colours and go on discount regularly. I got a Rockay T Shirt and some shorts… thought the quality was not great…

    Lol Colorado is either too cold or too hot for short-sleeve T-shirt running. This season (with two snowstorms this past week, but morning temperatures as high as 60 degrees) my favorites are the Path Projects Pyrenees hoodie and the lighter Tracksmith half-zips. No undershirt. Otherwise it’s a real hooded jacket or a tank top.

    • @OldManRunner
      @OldManRunner  Před 2 lety +2

      Crikey Troy...snowstorms in May! I will stop complaining about our weather, particularly as it is sunny out today. Love the Path Projects shorts but their tops are too dull coloured for me...going through the Tracksmith stuff...going to buy some running pants. Very handy for going to work and running home...

      I rarely run in a T Shirt in the dark...bright summer evenings and cold winter ones take care of that. I love the colour of the Gore Shirt, has great pop to it.

    Been waiting for this video. Fantastically made!!! Need to buy soar t-shirts but shipping and costs is prohibitive but I shall try in 2022. Which of the three is more tight-fit (milers club in Arizona or race vest 4.0 in Zurich or race vest 3.0 in Chicago)? Are soar t-shirts all medium? Will you try new soar shorts/tights? Was it windy during the gore shoot? Hope your video equip did not break. Agree with track-smith return policy - best in all companies. Will stop now so ask not many questions :) Thanks much!!!

    • @OldManRunner
      @OldManRunner  Před 2 lety +1

      Rajkumar… trying to answer questions and think about things is the best part of making the videos do ask as many as you like…All my running T Shirts and singlets are Medium. The three Soar singlets weigh almost the same… a gram or two in the difference which would fall within manufacturing tolerance for each one and all have the same tight fit. I won’t try any Soar tights. I am giving up on tights. I love the Soar running pants and will buy those instead. Expensive but I wear them several times a week to go to work in and sometimes run home. It was very windy and I used the GoPro on a monopod…it is not the first time it fell over… will bring a tripod next time. It is a bit more cumbersome but the stability will mean I can work quicker. No damage was done to the equipment…

    😂I knew you would have a lot of T'shirts, but that's a LOT!!! I hear only great things about Soar, and apparently their gear is extremely long wearing too, but my goodness the prices!! I wonder if you could recommend or maybe even do a video on socks, Barry... I still haven't found a good pair of really really thin socks for when my shoes are a bit tight, plus my feet expand enormously as the weather gets warmer. Someone recommended Steigen socks for summer, do you know them?

    • @OldManRunner
      @OldManRunner  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't really wear much else apart from running gear...so yes I have a lot of T-Shirts! Lots more I didn't show...It will come as no surprise that I have lots of socks...will plan to make a video, but it could take some weeks before I get it done. I have a pair of Steigen socks and they are super thin,.My running buddy Liam, loves them. My favourite ultra thin sock is the Rockay Agile Ultra Thin Sock...€12.70 a pair on Rockay today...plus there was an offer for another 10% off...Rockay always discount, unlike Soar. The socks wear out, but are made from recycled materials and are relatively inexpensive.

    I only use a T shirt when it is winter.. As soon as the temperature is above 15C I get to hot and run in a singlet or actually I leave the house in the Singlet (white colour) and remove it as soon as I am out of site of my wife.. She does not want me to run half naked... I run during lunch time so it is around the 26C already but will get to 32+ by next month. I do wear a white hat and do use sunblock on my ears, nose, neck and shoulders. I have the same UA shirt with the strange ridge on the back but as a singlet. It is actually my favourite and the only one I can keep on in the hot humid weather. Of course most of the Singlet I use are WHITE. I have a few in darker colours but it's impossible to run in the hot summer sun.

      I do wish we had hotter summers...I spent a lot of my childhood in hot countries and quite like running in the heat...Here this week according to my app it is to be 17,18,15,11,11,11,13...all degrees C. I nearly always stay out of the sun between the hours of 12:00 and 14:00...sitting here thinking of a balmy tropical evening run. Enjoy the heat!

    • @OldManRunner
      @OldManRunner  Před rokem

      Hello Romeo. I am a little taller at about 5'8" and weight 78kg/172 lbs. I wear a medium in all my running shirts. The Combat in Medium fits me well but it is not a loose fit. I like it very much, but the material is not as stretchy as some of my other T-shirts. Saysky have a size quiz on this page:
      saysky.eu/collections/running-clothes/products/classic-combat-t-shirt-empire-yellow?variant=39727694020721
      It is located on the right hand side in the product details section. My guess is that small will work if you like a close fitting shirt, but the size quiz might give you a better guide. Hope this helps.
