      @Rizwan Khan it might be entertaining but every ball being hit for 6 or 4 gets boring after a while. In test cricket you get to see tension, competition between bowler and batsmen and patience too. Patience seems to be a lost art. No wonder people are coming up with these destructive emotions in a fast moving world.

      @@amaledward2147: Taking wickets and scoring runs are important in cricket. But there are other aspects in the game that governs the result of the game and also creates impact in the minds of game lovers.
      An example is where two bowlers bowling a spell from both ends. One is a bit medium paced but extremely disciplined and maintains great lines and lengths, and giving away absolutely no run. The other is a 100 mile bowler mixing his lines and lengths all the time. There is a high chance that the medium pacer might end up with no wickets and the 100 mile bowler ending up with a 5 wicket haul. This end result will never makes the medium pacer less impactfull in the game since those who know the game well knows that it is the pressure that created by the medium pacer that made the batsmen cut loose against the other bowlers.
      Cricket is a mind game and making the opposition think or do something out of the box is very important. Archer, eventhough couldn't get Smith's wicket had great impact in the game.

    • @rorschach1724
      @rorschach1724 Před 4 lety +67

      @@sohagdas8351 : Archer and the English bowlers find out that Steve Smith gets into very awkward positions against fast bouncers directed at his body. So they continously tried to make him play the square hook shot to get a top edge to deep square leg or mid wicket. That is just another way to get a batsman out. If you call that intimidation, then bowling a sixth stump line against Ricky ponting(since many bowlers find that it is an efficient way to get his wicket), bowling a sharp inswinger at a batsman who leaves gap between bat and pad(the likes of hershell Gibbs, Sewage etc)is intimidating as well.
      Yep, someone throwing something as hard as brick to your head at 100 miles an hour is intimidating, but in cricket it is just another way of getting a batsman out.

The greatest performance by a batsman in a single series for me. England had no business drawing this series, it needed a once in a lifetime kinda knock which Stokes provided.
