    This is a great fly for night time fishing at the Rotorua stream mouths, just minus the bead or with a lumo plastic bead. Nice vid.

      Hi John, I use to farm just above Hamurana and would fish the river mouth at night between 10 - 12. Any pattern using these feathers worked well and you don’t need the bead, just use an intermediate line as its not very deep, you just have to have the right position to the left of the rip. If there are no anglers in front of you, you don’t need to go out very far. There is a small 18” dip just 20 ft out where the fish stay. If you get there and find 30 anglers in front and out as far as they can be in the lake, don’t fret, fish the anglers heels as the fish will move through them! Harera..
