  • Hey Guys,
I get a new pair of Merrell Men's water proof hiking boots called the Accentor 2. These light weight comfortable shoes are very affordable and well built. I go over the details and take them out for a test hike in the desert.

Thanks for the great review! Over the years I've had and destroyed MANY different brands of boots. Regardless of price and quality boots seldom last me more than 2 years and sometimes only one year. I have had Merrells in the past and will try the ones you illustrated here, as usually they are comfortable right out of the box and last about as long as the others. Not really overpriced either. Thank you.

Chris I like your channel because your style of hiking is more in line with what I do, day hiking and occasional 3-4 day backpack. I’m not an ultralight thru- hiker or technical mountain climber.

Yes, you got to hike/ backpack based on what you want for your experience. Thanks for watching Brows Man. Keep Hiking!

Merrill is a great brand! I did have to replace the laces with the one’s in my Marine Corps combat boots. They do last forever. Thanks for the review.

Over the past 10 years I have gone though several pair of Moab 2 VENT and GTX boots. Great boots! I'll give the ACCENTOR 2's a look.

Merrel boots are awesome.Chris my first pair 25 years ago, when broken in , were like slippers even though the uppers were comming apart, the soles where not cracked , just worn. Cheers

Lovely review mate thanks!.....I have walked so many miles in said military style boots such as Haix Scout 2s' which are good boots yet far too heavy....I did 20 miles last weekend and just know I now want a light boot for doing heavy mileage walks...( i generally carry around 17kg also so the wrong boot puts too much pressure on the feet).Today I tried on the salomons.....yet can't wear them as they are too narrow around the arch of the foot....so tried these on today in our british GoOutdoors shop......I will be filming the camino de santiago (walk over pyranees to santiago far west spanish coast....so really now want to enjoy the light boots....that one that fits well and feels effortless on ones foot.....I also looked at the meindl walking shoes which are the comfiest shoe i have ever worn yet user reports say it is common for the mid sole to snap leaving the carbon fibre undersole to make contact with the ground....and this isn't good as carbon fibre slips on the ground..(I know this from trying to walk on tarmac in carbon soled cycling shoes).so thank you for this lovely review....it bolsters ones confidence to know the previous merrel boot did not come apart around the toe seals etc......it is something that has made me nervous of certain constructions of walking shoes and boots....I do believe these are a lovely walking lightweight boot option....thank again for taking the time to show honest review! cheers from U.K! ...enjoy your reviews.

I've got the Moab 2 - the most comfortable hiking boots I've owned. I hike a lot of peaks, too - mostly mountains in Maine that are not forgiving on boots (or bodies LOL). I think I overspent on it compared to the prices you guys paid but my feet are comfortable on hard hikes and they hold up well.

There are plenty videos on CZcams that describe shoe tying methods that are guaranteed not to come undone. I've tried them. They work. Simple.

How did they hold up after a year?

  • @cobbler88

I would imagine that the main question about the boots for a lot of us Moab 2 faithful would be what the actual difference is between Vibram and what I imagine is a proprietary Merrell sole.

Bought the shoe version on 17/5/23 and noticed 2 months later they take 2 days to dry after walking in the rain plus part of the fabric near the soles is peeling.
    Defo not waterproof !

Round shoelaces always come untied. Get flat shoe laces, the stay tied better.
