New Cosplay Reveal: Pride Wonder Woman!

Happy #themyscirathursday! I am at last presenting the project that has totally engaged me for more than two weeks: Pride Wonder Woman! I have wanted to make this for years now. A few weeks ago, I decided that now was the time. I stopped at Joann’s and got the different color satin, with my thought being it would be easy to just sew these onto an existing red corset and I’d be done. HA! I totally forgot about switching thread color repeatedly, not to mention continually adjusting for the boning. Then I didn’t like how the inside of the corset (which no one can see) looked, so I added red bias tape along the top and bottom… meaning I had to continually switch color thread AGAIN (at least the bobbin thread stayed red).
And then I decided I didn’t like the blue brief with white stars with the rainbow corset, so I made a new brief and sewed on a mess of colored stars.
And then I decided I didn’t like how my existing tiaras looked, but that meant new bracelets and a new belt. But! I only had silver pleather, so I had to spray paint it all, then cut out the pieces I needed and sew on the Velcro and star (more thread changing) and insert grommets for the tiara elastic.
But wait! Should I do an eagle or a WW for the chest? I couldn’t decide, so I did both, which involved sacrificing my old Silver Age corset to get the eagle for a template.
As you can see, neither worked because of the corset busk. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I did take a couple of shots with the eagle pinned on, though.
I’m not doing anything to the boots!!!
So what I thought might take a day ended up being 156+ hours of work! I took a break to make the WW bunny pieces. Finished last night, put it on… and 🤬🤬🤬 the corset covers most of the brief. I tried putting the brief over the corset, but that looked lumpy. So … 🤬🤬🤬 I’m wearing it this way! Maybe some day in the future I’ll do this again with a shorter corset. Probably not, though. 😅
