- Over the past 20 or so years, the Call Of Duty series has given us some of gamings greatest Easter eggs, which led me to think, what is the best Easter egg from each of the mainline Call Of Duty games?
Well, today I plan on answering that question.

In my opinion, the World at war Easter egg that is best is on vendetta. (not the fact it's based on enemy at the gates although that is pretty cool) is when you're in the fountain at the start of the mission after Germans shoot your fellow soldiers and you're playing dead. You see reznov and follow him round to a gap in the fountain, if you then crawl back to where you started a Russian soldier who was "dead" lifts his head up to show he also was playing dead.
wow really never seen anyone talk about that
@@peps-on-food do you remember the Easter egg or is it new too you?
@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 to be honest it's new to me but it don't think it's an easter egg but a very cool detail
@@blahblahblahblahblahblahbl7467 it's an easter egg for sure.
@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 im sorry , when you said that the soldier left his head up you meant he litarlly lift it up as it's separated from his body ?
The ray gun easter egg from WAW was amazing to experience as a young boy. Always tried it when playing that mission.
Guy almost got fired for it
I loved exploding the bunkers with it before buddy with the flamethrower got there. It felt like a challenge when I was young 😂
@@RexMiseriae dude deserved a raise. Not getting fired for something fun. Plus I bet you they praised him after they included it into zombies
I used to always go for it when playing online co op
Took me 6 tries I thought it was fake
In Modern Warfare 3 we learn that Makarov knows Yuri the whole time. Yuri and Makarov was with Zakhaev when he lost his arm, they drove him away to safety.
In the sniper mission of Modern Warfare Remastered when you zoom in at Zakhaev, if you look at the local area you’ll also see a car with Makarov talking to Yuri. Shooting Makarov will earn you the achievement “Time Paradox”. Shooting Yuri though will fail the mission as he’s considered a friendly
Woah
Honourable mention. On the MW2 map Wasteland, you can see the Chernobyl reactor nearby and it’s super cool going into spectator mode and exploring it. ALSO in multiplayer when you get a nuke on that map the explosion comes from the Chernobyl building.
I need to fact check this
@@dr_goofy It’s legit ☢️
You could glitch out of the map back in the day, on a co-op mission on that level. Me and a buddy spent hours wandering the half-rendered Chernobyl. Good times
In modern warfare on the cargo ship mission Gaz says this when he pull out his shotgun. I like to keep this for close encounters. A reference to Hicks line from Aliens but different.
You might be right there mate.
No
@@gaysiegelordyes
I think one of my favourites is if your shoot Shepard at the beginning of the MW2 Remastered Campaign in the pit you get an achievement for “precognitive Paranoia” 😂
COD 4 also had cheats in its original version...I can't remember all of them but it had ragtime mode, cluster nades, slow mo, infinite ammo, and ppl turning into tires when they died
Yeah came to say this, CoD 4 og had most of the cheats that were in the remaster.
thanks for clarifying, i was like i swear i used to muck around with cheats in the original version and it was trippin me out (unrelated but cod 4 was such as good game, better times)
The tires one always cracked me up
I would often use the bad-year cheat because it made it way easier to tell if the enemy was actually dead or just damaged.
I think the wii edition had paintball mode, maybe the regular game did too
I personally wanna believe that CoD isn't getting less creative, but the easter eggs are becoming harder and more intricate
One thing that also happened quite a lot is i would find some easter eggs without even trying but now im struggling to even know they exist lol
But considering basically the same game but with a few more guns or better graphics is the new norm for newer cod games, who knows
But sadly they are getting less creative
nice cope
It was already hard on finest hour back in the day with hardly any internet
He missed the fact that when the predator goes down he sets off an arm nuke that kills everyone on the map
And also the fact that those are Dlc's and not actually Easter eggs
@@LaBelleGames It says Easter Eggs, References and Secrets in the video title. He's still right, it's a cameo (aka reference) to Halloween and Predator.
@@familyneves9777 🥱
Saving private Ryan was a good early campaign Easter egg and also the playing cards in w&w1 lol good old days hey only OG players will know
Those cards where super easy to find too and gave you cheats for either single player or co-op campaign I can't remember which
It was always fun to make the enemy turn into zombies after you killed them. Man I forgot how awesome and fun it was finding all the cards or just some if them. 🤟
Ooo.
the paintball card in waw was fun to glitch into zombies
There are several (at least 3) PVT Ryan’s in a few of the CODs that you have to keep from getting killed.
5:19
Fun fact the person who put this Easter egg there almost got fired because he did it behind treyarch’s back
One fun Easter egg is using the melon head cheat in MW2 Remastered, which applied the melon head specifically to enemies. In the mission Loose Ends, when you bring the DSM to Shepherd and he shoots Roach, he will go from looking normal to immediately having a melon for a head due to the sudden switch to being an enemy.
In COD 3 either on the last mission or so there's a building with a door that you can phase through to go inside of it. Found out as a kid. It may not be an easter egg but it is a fun fact for those that never knew.
Anything on the other side of the door?
@@CaptainEggcellent Not that I remember.
I own a disc copy of CoD3 might check it out sometime
@@I_want_White_Cheddar_Popcorn check it
@@CaptainEggcellent aha, see? There was something about cod 3!
Anyone remember the rumor in MW2 MP that you could flashbang some door on Underpass and some mom would come out and yell at you? Good times...
YES lmao I remember the really obviously faked video of it on CZcams that we all believed back in the day ahaha
I’m pretty sure Activision said they would be adding this to the game in the new MW2
@@jacobcollectscards7964 lmao
@@jacobcollectscards7964 REALLY!?!?!???!?!!!?!!¿ I need to tell everyone!!!!!😱😱😱
I don't understand the hate of ghosts. I absolutely loved that game, one of my favourite cod's
Only hate I have for any part of Ghosts is Extinction, frickin mode was hard as hell solo and randoms never helped
I liked extinction. Even though I played ghosts for years, I'm pretty sure I only beat extinction once. Hard, but still unique
I think most of the hate was for the multiplayer, since that's really the only thing cod players even bother to play. It's the same reason cold war gets hate. The campaign and zombies in that game are both amazing, but the multiplayer sucked, so that's why cold war as a whole gets so much hate
@@grimalldenfay3375 yeah but that's not the modes fault that was cods. I loved extinction more than zombies cause it was different for once and I could definitely see that being better than zombies if it was done right
idk too, people hated it cuz the internet said so
Fun fact: The Ray Gun easter egg wasnt supposed to be in the game and the person who snuck it in was almost fired.
Edit: I know this is annyoing but why tf yall liking this comment. And ofc some "programmer" is trying to make a man who betrayed his companys trust totally fine and shouldnt have been threatened to be fired.
Do u mean in campaign Easter egg or the ray gun in general
@@GFUexe The Campaign easter egg. The ray gun also was put in last minute but with permission
@@GFUexe from WAW the ray gun easter egg
They made a video about it, not this guy, but still
@@MichaelM997 Yup. Thats how i knew. And ofc some people were like "Treyarch are Jerks!!!" Even though if i was a boss id possibly be close to firing them too.
The predator easter egg from Ghosts is by far my favorite. I would play that map in squads all the time.
In CoD 3, there's a multiplayer map called "Stalag 23" I believe (It's DLC so unfortunately you'll have to buy it). If you stand on top of one of the buildings on the map and look out of the map, you'll see a skull image on a 3D cube with fire around it.
16:31
There's one more thing in Call of Duty Cold War if you shoot the guards in the head in a doorway Woods will say " Where did you learn to shoot like that "
Ooo.
wow.
although this was mainline games, i think my favorite easter egg in any cod game was the “zork” quest where you went through a bunch of websites and did special quests for extra in game rewards. it was nothing crazy or game changing, but the aspect of it makes it my favorite
For the WaW ray gun you don't have to stand in the puddles for 5 seconds. You just have to stand in each of them. They aren't time-gated
Too right
There’s a Easter egg in modern warfare 2 in the museum level, if you go to the snow scene in the first room you spawn in there’s a chance of one of the solders there to have the shotgun from the call of duty 4 modern warfare. It’s a cool nod to a past game, it’s small but it’s definitely cool to see! I know it works for sure for the OG mw2 but im not sure about the remaster!
What is that level called?
@@Adi_The_Gamer4158 museum it unlocks when you complete the campaign i think
I think the best thing ever is when you have the melon head for enemies on in mw2, you can see the exact moment when Shepard becomes an enemy
In bo3 you can do the mannequin easter egg 3 ways the way with only arms, only heads and both head and arms. Each way has a different approach.
As a CoD Campaign player, Ghosts was actually one of the best imo because it felt like that outcome could happen but was also this freedom fighter feel. You destroyed my home and took it over so now we will fight back. Plus that cliffhanger at the end. Ah, brilliant.
… mid at best
Like bruh Rorke was literaly shot in the chest point-blank by a 44. …. That man’s not ever moving again
@@milessmiles99 by that logic Hesh would be dead too as you shoot through him.
@@milessmiles99 Wasn't he wearing a vest? That would've easily stopped it while knocking him on his ass.
@@milessmiles99 it was through the inner shoulder not his chest that's why he's alive
For advanced warfare, at the end of the survival levels, for the last several rounds on the last map, the enemies will be replaced with exo zombies.
fun fact: the star bear in the MW3 EE comes back in lots of COD games, hidden in random corners in maps, including multiplayer
CORRECTION: COD4 MW always had the cheats in the options menu, the official guide from back in the day listed all 20 and they couldnt be found through reloading a checkpoint or replaying the mission iirc. So you had to get them all during a full story playthrough
I for one loved COD WW2 2017 just for the campaign alone. I must have played it for hours on end
In Cod WW2 my personal favorite Easter egg was the parkour onto the roof of the HQ where you’d find a sledgehammer, obviously being a studio reference
2:49 same to me but what happened to me is different. When the comissar ordered you to shoot the bear, but you still shooting the bottles he will shoot you. I was surprised with this little Easter egg when I was 9 lol 🤣🤣🤣
In my opinion prolly the best and saddest easter egg is in MW3 (i forgot the map) where if you go to certain graves you can hear voices from the little girl in the campaign that was caught up in the chemical bombing.
The ray gun can also be used at the end of the mission to destroy the tanks faster than the rocket barrages
If you haven't played Turnip boy commits Tax evasion I strongly recommend it as it has tons of references in it and is a genuinely great game
The mw3 bear can also be found in mw2 remastered in the start of the "of their own accord" mission on a hidden corner, the bear is a smaller version of the mw3 one and you can pick up a the golden deacle that is on top of it.
"You seem like a person who loves fast food, I question your life choices!" Damn, someone got toasted by that
can we appreciate that on the mall level next to and in one of the shops there are 3 or 4 gumball machines (i haven’t done it in a while) and if you shoot them, each of them has a scripted animation for all the gum falling out, with one also spilling onto a bean bag chair and all? somebody took time to make this! this is why we love treyarch. (cold war)
Nice, your easter eggs finding skills are remarkable.
Capitan Price want's to see him
Nice, I love these Easter eggs & hidden details videos from your channel a lot.👍
This isn't much of an easter egg but more like an alternate ending to cod 3. basically in the last level the Sargent dies I think but if you shoot the person who kills him fast enough he won't die and someone else would die
Proof?
@@sparkysrg8706 just search up the alternate ending on yt
The epitome of love/hate relationships, the CoD games. Not as good as Doom, Quake, Unreal, Half-Life, Medal of Honor, Halo, F.E.A.R., Crysis, Titanfall 2, and Spec Ops: The Line, but you just can't get away from it that easily because it all always beckons to you.
It’s like crack
I think I recall an RPG-7 easter egg, in the Advanced Warfare campaign, hidden in an out of bounds area.
I believe it was called "weapon_rpg," which is just the raw string name found in the game files, implying it was probably a placeholder they decided to have some fun with.
From what I recall, it was difficult to get and didn't have a unique function, but it was an "old" RPG, so it was cool enough for me to try to get every playthrough.
There's an Easter egg that I like even better on MW3. In MW3's campaign, we see a bomb inside a truck blow up in the UK, killing a nearby family on vacation amongst many other people. On the MW3 multiplayer map "Sanctuary", there's a graveyard in one section of the map. If you go prone in a few parts of the graveyard, you'll actually hear the ghost voices of the vacationing family that died in the bomb attack. Also one of the most eerie Easter eggs in COD history imo
In the WAW easter egg you don't have to wait 5 seconds in every hole. You only need in the last one. For the others you need to go only in them for a sec. I know this because I wouldn't be patient. Nice video as always :)
Same. I just bunny hopped across the beach to the last hole and just waited.
@@toboe156 Before I wanted to write that I jumped there but I noticed he only moved there so moving counts too and I didn't know it :D
For me the best "Easter egg" is the fact that you could free yourself from the chair on BO1 and then play a that game on the computer that is inside the room.... I discovered that when I was 11 so it's just special to me
3:21 FORGETTABLE?! D: the multiplayer was so much fun.
Ah Call Of Duty Finest Hour.... The game that got me into the COD series...
Did you see that ludicrous upload last night? Was Eggcellent thinking! 😅
Love the videos 👌🏻
I don't know if you have covered this but in Batman: Arkham City, if you shoot Solomon Grundy with the Remote Electrical Charge he absorbs the charge and powers up. I think it's a cool detail
In the first Watch Dogs, Aiden will wipe his phone screen in the rain.
In Hitman 2, on The Ark Society mission, after a certain amount of kills with the knight armor guards with the armor will spawn.
and the knights were really hard to kill last I checked
I feel like I found a few Easter eggs in the CoD WWII hq my favorite was if you follow a secret way on top of the bunker in the middle you can find a sledgehammer near a ledge referencing SHG
The Modern Warfare 2019 Easter egg is a reference to the tale "The Pied Piper of Hamelin".
As a tl;dr of the story: in the 13th century, a piper wearing pied, or multicolored, clothing promises to rid the German town Hamelin of a rat infestation. The mayor promises him money if he succeeds. He does, but the town now refuses to pay him. As revenge, he hypnotizes the town’s children with his music and leads them away, never to be seen again.
You do know a “TL/DR” is supposed to be shorter than the main comment or post, right? You did it backwards.
I absolutely loved ghost, so I was hoping you'd cover the crane with the venom-x in the ghost recreation of dome, but since you already did two covering wonder weapons from alternative game modes, Micheal and the predator are very good second choices.
2 cod easter eggs:
1. In cod advanced warfare, in the mission "throttle" there is a tall burning building that you can parkour up, when you reach the top you will find an og rpg from The older cod games.
2. In cod ww2 at the HQ there are 3 hidden balls that you can pick up and throw. (Need to do some parkour to get all of them)
Quite a lot with WW2 regarding past events in the HQ. Even some old Morse code transcripts
Yeah the Myers thing was very fun to play when that dlc game out I remember them heavily marketing around that and the alien mode. Got a killcam with that killstreak. Good times
Not sure if shown, but in unraveled, while still doing the tutorial, if you mess up on the bridge it will give you a little message. Gave me a chuckle.
Another Easter egg in Deeprock Galactic is the bartender. His name and clothing is a reference to the bartender in the shining.
Cheats were always a thing in CoD 4. Bad Year made enemies explodes into tires, cluster grenades, infinite ammo, and I think invincibility were also cheats
@Captain Eggcellent in AW in sone mission in the campaign you can find a leftover rpg asset on one of the rooftops that still functions well it’s left over from like the beginning of development
I’m surprised for Modern Warfare 3 you didn’t go with the ghost voices from one of the multiplayer maps. The voices were from the “Davis Family Vacation” segment of one of the missions
I found an Easter egg in Far Cry 5. Idk if it’s already been mentioned but while driving the “Uncle Sam” car you get for completing a clutch nixion event. You can see a posted note that says GGWP GLHF (good game well played. Good luck have fun)
Ok but this is CALL OF DUTY
3:20 “One of the most forgettable Call of Duty games of all time” dude Call of Duty 3 was a great game- had a fun campaign and an awesome multiplayer with great maps
I remember the call of duty 2 thing for sure, because I always like to see how much dialogue there is.
I spent an entire night on the modern warfare map easter eggs when the game was the most current with a friend. I beat the giant teddy bear and golden toilet paper easter eggs pretty quick, but it took FOREVER to find the mousetraps on cheshire park. It was still fun tho
1:20 For every like this comment gets I'll do one pushup and post a video of it
In Modern Warfare Remastered, if you shoot Makarov you fail the mission and get the achievement "Time Paradox" in reference to Metal Gear Solid and MW2 Remastered gives you an achievement for shooting Shepard in the first mission
13:17 I think the quarter master is a reference to Jack Churchill. For those who don't know, here's his Wikipedia intro:
"John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming Churchill, DSO & Bar, MC & Bar (16 September 1906 - 8 March 1996) was a British Army officer who fought in the Second World War with a longbow, bagpipes, and a Scottish broadsword. Nicknamed "Fighting Jack Churchill" and "Mad Jack", he was known for the motto: " _Any officer who goes into action without his sword is improperly dressed._ ""
- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Churchill
Man literally went Medieval on Nazi asses.
That's awesome👌👌There are ton of other easter eggs in COD, but you can't mention them in one video, so make part 2...
Like the easter egg of the grandma killing you in a multiplayer map of MW2! If you shoot the door for a long time, a psychopathic grandma comes out with an ACR and kills you...
Can’t believe the Easter Egg you chose from Cold War wasn’t the Zombies Easter Egg on the Vietnam level. You fall down into a pitch black room and are chased by zombies until you die
In cod ghost, one of the maps(I forgot the name) there are a bunch of gnomes in hidden places and to find all you have to explode a building to find. It’s really cool
Hi captain, i just saw your video today, well i got something very good to know in resident evil outbreak that in first level if you block a door with a barrel, a secret cutscene will play
Hello I'm at the beginning still and just want to say I love you and I subscribed, yiure like the only guy I've every found mention call of duty finest hour, that was my childhood.
In COD 3, on the chapter selection screen, hold SELECT and input RIGHT, RIGHT, LEFT, LEFT, SQUARE, SQUARE to unlock all stages.
I don't know who he doesn't mention that the burger town mascot is also the same one from AW zombies Infection, where if you fixed it. The machine could come to life and fight for you.
3:19 hey now. This game was my childhood. I still remember crossing that boat and tank spotting and that really stupid zoom in of that Scottish guys face
Most, if not all COD Ghosts maps had the chance to get the “map event” care package, some maps got nuked and changed completely, others like this, basically turned you into a juggernaut either with a special gun or a knife, like Mike Myers. I _LOVED_ and _MISS_ Ghosts. That’s deffo one of my top 5, not top 3, but def top 5. It was underappreciated back in the day for sure
In call of duty 3 map "stalag" if you climb a building with a green roof and aim with your sniper in the distance on a trailer or small building a picture of a skull with flames can be seen but if you move it disappears
man black ops 3 had so many. same thing with nuketown but shooting the heads off, starting the zombies mode. and don't forget it was the first game to have dark matter which was completely hidden until someone actually got diamond on everything for no reason lmao. and the gold and black hero armor you get the challenges for after unlocking every piece of armor in the game
In advanced warfare in one of the missions or multiplayer maps I forget, you can find the mw2 map rust completely remade out of bounds but unplayable in any other way.
small mw2 original Easter egg kinda: one of the far left stands (snow themed) in the museum has a soldier holding w1200 which you can pickup and use after blowing them up or whatever
Hey Eggcellent House Flipper was recently added to xbox game pass and I found a detail where if you are working for somebody pull out your sell gun and decide to sell the clients furniture etc. words appear on the bottom of the screen
Another amazing video
I'm honestly surprised they had easter eggs in such old games not only cod alone but even doom and others is crazy
In watchdogs legion, when you're tracking the mission *"A Gap In The Armor"* Jumping off of the building after hacking into Hamish Bolaj's ctOS hub it plays the *"Leap Of Faith"* sound effect from *"Assassin's Creed"*
In House Flipper, if you attempt to sell things that don’t need to sold when flipping a house, your character will say things like, “I don’t want to earn money this way”, or “I shouldn’t do this.” However, if you keep trying to sell things, your character will say other dialogue like, “This is immoral”, “Who do you think I am?”, and “We’re not playing Thief Simulator.” (Since being that the creators of House Flipper also created Thief Simulator.)
For AW you could’ve done the pacific rim one on one of the maps where you had to get an xs1 goliath and get to a certain part of the map then gypsy danger comes out of the water for a few seconds
the numbers mission is probably my favorite call of duty mission of all time. Loved black ops 1 campaign.
In cod WW2 i found it fun and i loved the undead warden outfits although cold wars maxis outfits are some of the best like the one with the glowing eyes
Ah yes a commissar doing his job. Keeping troops morale up
In the mission "throttle" in advanced warfare, you can get on top of the atlas hq building (the left side of the building)
and there will be an unused RPG-7 on top which has no sounds
Idk if you have covered this i you hidden details seris already but In watch dogs 2 on the misson false profits you have to safe jimmy siska and the cut scene where you save him will change depending on if you save with the drone or in person
I actually liked CoD 3's multiplayer. It's basic by today standards, but you could pick a class (Assault, Sniper, Medic, etc) and depending on how well you did with them, it'd give your character new abilities. Like, Sniper had binoculars that could call down a mortar barrage on a location. At level 1, it took ages to refill. But at the final level, you could call one down like, every 90 seconds. It was match specific so when you joined a new game, you'd be back at square 1 (which I personally liked). Also was the first CoD to introduce drivable vehicles to the multiplayer, and driving around in sidecars on motorcycles or driving around in a tank was exciting. BF had just barely started to make it to consoles with Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, so this was pretty revolutionary when I was a young lad.
Soap : you have 20 seconds
Cap egg : hold on, lemme play rock paper scissor first
I am so glad to see finest hour in a video. I played the heck out of it back in the game cube
In Black Ops 3, if you shoot all of the heads down of the manicans (I'm German so I don't know if that is spelled correctly), all of them turn into a zombie horde but, you have to do that in, I think, either under 1 min or 90 seconds. I'm not quite sure but still, it's really fun
In Black Ops 1, although very hard to peform in time, theres a easter egg on Nuketown. It's best to do with friends, complete it and you get rewarded with a song.
One Easter egg I have never heard anyone talk about is that on the numbers mission where you get the thunder gun you can go up to a door in that apartment complex and hear a zombie screaming on the other side
Advanced warfare had an Easter egg in the campaign where if you jump on certain ledges you can find an untextured rpg
also there is a another cod mw3 reference in cod 4 mw remastered in the mission where you have to shoot zakaev you can see in one of the trucks yuri and makarov which is the scene from cod mw3 blood brothers
Who’s first COD game was Ghosts? That game is what made me a fan of this franchise
