Her voice and phrasing in this are just beautiful. She beings out the blues part of this while seamlessly mixing it with the jazz of that era and that she's famous for
My mom Eva sang with big bands back in the day and she recorded this song as a demo for Lawrence Welk. She sang similar to Diana. She was one big reason I became a musician! RIP Eve❤😘🙏✝
The top of the contemporary jazz world here together. Next to Diana Krall, the great bassplayer John Clayton, drummer Jeff Hamilton and guitarist Antony Wilson. I was lucky to watch them together in a live concert once.
Strait up butter, smooth as silk, she truely is one of the greats of our time. And you know she's smart, surrounding herself with a band filled with legends and greats.
This song was one my grandmother liked to play when I was a child of the 60's. I adore it still. Diana Krall has a velvet voice and ease of floating in and out of notes like a satin ribbon. Close your eyes and transport yourself to a different age when Haven Gillespie (lyricist) & J. Fred Coots (composer) invited us to dance cheek to cheek in 1938. The song transcends time and space. This is one of the best recordings of "You Go To My Head". Silken...feathery...luxurious. drink it in.
Intoxicating...I loved when you tossed the bridge to the bassist ,he knew so you gave him the 1st line. He was like yeah I've got it, now you carry the ball."touchdown" on the spot. What a tremendous bunch all put together like that. Improv all the way. You " intoxicate my soul."
I am not ready now (perhaps never) to name the greatest performance among this great one and others, but I am prepared to say now: this is the greatest pop song ever written.
You beat me to the it's exactly the words I wanted to say just about the finest rendition of this song I've ever heard and I love this song takesyou someplace
Diana Krall is one of the best jazz singers in my era. Anthony Wilson, Jeff Hamilton and John Clayton make it one of the best jazz quartets in my era. I go back to the 1940s jazz era.
You go to my head And you linger like a haunting refrain And I find you spinning 'round in my brain Like the bubbles in a glass of champagne You go to my head Like a sip of sparkling burgundy brew And I find the very mention of you Like the kicker in a julep or two The thrill of the thought That you might give a thought To my plea, casts a spell over me But I say to myself, "Get a hold of yourself Can't you see that it never can be?" You go to my head With a smile that makes my temperature rise Like a summer with a thousand Julys You intoxicate my soul with your eyes And I'm certain that this heart of mine Hasn't a ghost of a chance In this crazy romance You go to my head You go to my head
What an incredibly fine version of a classic song. Superb voice and delivery with sub-tones as beautiful as a saxophone, the highest compliment a sax player can pay a voicalist. :)
I haven't always loved Dianna Kralls songs for some reason. But I ADORE!!!! this. What a gorgeous, Super talented, and seemingly really easy going woman. No wonder the long roving Elvis Costello married her...
She had some nice phisical features like her face, and a very economic way to play piano, but able to put the right notes at the right place. But she's not natural (my opinion) when she sang. To play a dark jazzy ballad in Nashville with the band "Time Jumper" in the place and with a western swing crowd, tell me a lot, like she's not a versatile musicien, not a bad musicien but a one style musicien. Her best performance (to me) is a live performance at the Newport jazz festival at the bigining of her career. It's the only place in time where she looks more Free to play what she really like.
Wow!One of the nicest things last year was finding You. I found You by accident, but oh so nice.Found Shania Twain trough Her devorce. another nice find.Had to have Your video"Live In Rio". Interesting news for Diana Krall fans. Paul McCartney will release a pop standards album and has worked with Diana Krall and her band on the album. I can't wait to hear the album.
NO ES POSIBLE que en el UNIVERSO de YOU-TUBE, no tenga nadie "YOU GO TO MY HEAD" con LES ELGART, yo tenia el LP con esa hermosa melodía e interpretada por Elgart.
Amaly-Ema Rimas Please- Let's not forget her incredible piano touch. I've studied piano for better than 25 years and can only dream about achieving a fraction of her chops.
I love Your singing! Why the negative?Amy Winehouse, darn such a low & sexy voice, miss Her.Really glad We have Her music to remember her by.What was it that put Amy over the edge-something like this& one of My alltime favorites Karen Carpenter-I still wonder what put Her over the edge?So many ways to sing,Your so laid back &Oh "So Nice".My favorite video of alltime is" Quiet Nignts" beautyful Lady&scenery. Thanks again for the terrific music. Always On Your Side(Sheryl Crow). Lots of Love & Prayer

Diana is so talented. Love to listen to her. So calming and pleasent.
she has a voice that takes you to another place to feel what she feels too.

Anthony Wilson on guitar, playing very understated and tasteful jazz guitar accompaniment.

Well said, agreed !
Certainly in my Top Ten.. which changes monthly.. there are simply way too many great songs out there to label one of them as the “ greatest.”
You beat me to the it's exactly the words I wanted to say just about the finest rendition of this song I've ever heard and I love this song takesyou someplace
One of the most beautiful lyrics ever written. One of the most beautiful voices in the history of jazz. The perfect match
I could listen to her ALL DAY....
Diana Krall is one of the best jazz singers in my era. Anthony Wilson, Jeff Hamilton and John Clayton make it one of the best jazz quartets in my era. I go back to the 1940s jazz era.
This girls voice takes me somewhere else. Thank You God for Diana Krall
One of the great Jazz singers on the scene now...!! And looks to match..! WOW!!
You go to my head
And you linger like a haunting refrain
And I find you spinning 'round in my brain
Like the bubbles in a glass of champagne
You go to my head
Like a sip of sparkling burgundy brew
And I find the very mention of you
Like the kicker in a julep or two
The thrill of the thought
That you might give a thought
To my plea, casts a spell over me
But I say to myself, "Get a hold of yourself
Can't you see that it never can be?"
You go to my head
With a smile that makes my temperature rise
Like a summer with a thousand Julys
You intoxicate my soul with your eyes
And I'm certain that this heart of mine
Hasn't a ghost of a chance
In this crazy romance
You go to my head
You go to my head
With her pretty face, she does not need sing or play, ... but she does!
She is outstanding
And after listening to this, I'm sliding right down into that glass of champagne!
