Once I visited the deep south and I noticed everyone going to church every sunday....then Monday through Saturday everyone acted what I would consider questionable behavior, cheating on their spouses, doing drugs and acting belligerent...I asked my uncle why do people act so horrible the rest of the week and still get on their pious high horse because they attend church? Its like going to church and believing in god gives Christians permission to sin because they believe we are all sinners...my uncles response...you got it...so next time someone says an atheist is an atheist because they want to sin....remember Christians are sinning left and right because it is in their doctrine that all they have to do to get to heaven is believe in god and jesus Christ as their savior..thats it....they can sin all they want after that...I prefer to hold myself accountable for my actions thank you very much.
sharislo I started going to this new church after we moved, and the smell of booze and cigarettes was disgusting. And obviously not washing recently. UGH. I stopped going. And I had stopped believing even before that. It was something you just did.
I'm sure that there are quite a lot of christians that don't cheat on their wives. I'm sure that most of them are like any other human being from any culture. Biology has a huge effect on behavior. The idea of a soul is none sense. Men are attracted to many nice looking women and think about sex often. It doesn't matter if the girl is 15 or 60. Am I suppose to believe that a god really wanted to design this and then Jesus says to tear your eye out? Evolution theory can explain the situation better.
Must have been a full moon that night, the idiots were out in force!
+Keith Hull No full moon required; idiots are everywhere... all of the time.
As someone from England I can confirm that nobody would ever walk up to you in the street and talk to you unless they are selling something.
or begging
"I'm sorry! I don't keep up to date with all the superstitious bullcrap."
Oh that made me laugh from a good, healthy place! x-D
If jesus rose from the dead....what was sacrificed?
a weekend!
If you start as god, end as god and keep exactly what was yours, there was never a sacrifice. It’s probably the most stupid part of the whole story.
@@trishayamada807 THANK YOU
Satan's Church? The internet? Wow... That was amazing
How dare these atheist try to tell me santa isn't real, merely weeks away from Christmas!!! Who else is bringing me these presents, a non existent Jesus??!!
You are Santa to who you give gifts to; if they give you gifts; they are Santa. That is how I was raised! Didn`t you notice all your friends and family was "Santa"? I guess none of them were lying to me; that is so cool! :-)
You can skip to 14:10 for the calls.
good call
Thank you 😏
when i was a kid, i always aspired to be a geonologist ;)
~ Eight years later and I never grow weary of videos that challenge the brainwashed to THINK! Thank you Matt & Jen ~
Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
cuz the same people are just as stupid today as they were 8 years ago.
Satanism?! Man, that's quite the statement. I'm not surprised they ran out patience when faced with such ignorance.
ALL gods are imaginary , yes, yours too.
Sorry myths are myths.
I agree only Doctor Who is one true God -lol
There are all the same Doctor
This is how cruel Christianity can be, in Australia the New South Wales State Govt. had a vote on a bill to allow Terminally Ill people in the final stages access to Medical Pot. The bill was voted down by 2 votes from the Christian Democrat's, a spokesman for the Party quoted “While we have sympathy for the terminal ill we believe that no one should be able to enjoy their medications”. Really!! I get relief from my morphine daily which gives me enjoyment does that mean my morphine needs to be taken away.
+Shane Simpson Pain relief was denied women in labour, because birth pain was God's punishment.
jen seems like a lovely person, matt is a cool bloke too!
I wonder what Jen's always typing, even before the show starts. It's like she's doing her taxes up there or something.
I think she monitors the message boards. From what I've gathered she does that when she isn't hosting the show.
Lesbian chat rooms.
😆 I know 5yrs later but this was funny
Jen's a busy girl.

at 28;59"...and the absurdity of a god dying for a weekend in order to, I don't know, create this loophole" That was so funny I almost peed on myself. God dying for a weekend??? Thats fuckin hilarious.
It does suck, though, because god was totally planning to go roller skating on S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y! NIGHT! But it's cool, he was able to go the next weekend. Minor inconvenience really.
I am all for Planned Parenthood, both as an organization and as a concept, but the organization should probably change its name, as the name implies that their only purpose is contraception and abortion. Maybe Women's Health Association?
I have often contemplated that too.
Then again, it is "planned PARENTHOOD," not "planned avoidance of parenthood." It implies that they help you plan to be a parent, not that they provide services to avoid becoming a parent. I always felt their name was deceitful, back when I was a pro-life theist.
Still, I think they could still do well if they adpopted a superior name like you suggested though. Good idea.
Gregory Dearth
I agree, but to the right wing, "Planned Parenthood" translates as "Elimination of Unplanned Babies".
+Pat Doyle So fucking what?
Vertical Horizon
So what? Rational or not, one must understand their opponent if one wants to make any progress.
This is why religions make little or no progress - they make little or no effort to understand.
+Pat Doyle It's a good point. Rebranding isn't a bad thing...
This is another sad testimony for American education.
John Bowler which is why religion only exists in america.....
Wow. I've just realized what a journey I've been on to actually come to the point of labeling myself an atheist. From trying to find maybe a different brand, trying to find a diff church, trying to find a diff belief (reincarnation...) and finally actually admiting I was pissed off at 'god' for my husband dieing young. Being told that he, as a genuine good person, couldn't go to heaven, by his MOTHER, and getting angry over that. None of it exists or is real, PERIOD. Free yourself.
Higher genius? Like Stephen Hawking? Richard Dawkins? Krauss?
Satan’s Church= Internet.
Lol!
First caller seems familiar. I wonder if Mark from the Austin stone church finally got himself a voice alteration devise.
:}
In the 1980's and 1990's I and high school/college friends of mine used Planned Parenthood for birth control, pap smears, cervical cancer screenings, breast exams, etc. We all couldnt afford health care thru our jobs-if it was even offered. My best friend found her cervical cancer thru Planned Parenthood screening and got treated early. If it wasnt for their services, my friend might not be here today.
TOPIC "ORDER" IN THE BIBLE IS A MOST IMPORTANT POINT AND QUESTION TOO.
The Topic "Order" in the Bible talking about Solution "Obey" and Militarism,s Ideology!
yeah.. I've never heard the net be described as "satans church"
LOL
This episode has a really funny prank call.
Fantastic theme song!!!
49:10 "Crazy Evil Maze Rats" would be an AWESOME name for a band!
I love how you see Jen cover her mouth (after the "genologists" statement) and then hear stifled laughter for nearly a minute.
Honestly, I wonder if some of the callers have managed to get past the second grade, and if so, how?
i like the guy was doing some deep searching and accepted his answer of "i dont know" and continued off on his journey on his own....
How would I describe order? It is when some objects at the micro or macro level are arrange in a certain way. There is no absolute definition of what constitutes order and what is chaos.
This is like asking, how would you describe smallness.
The discussion at ~22 minutes onward about "order" onward was painfully awkward.
Order and chaos are perceived. They're abstract and arbitrarily assigned for our convenience.
@612Tiberius It's by Bryan Steeksma and is called "Listen to Reason" if you're curious. The full song is also here on CZcams.
Got a Reformation Bible College ad on this video
It requires a hell of a lot of effort to create chaos than ''order'' ie; just sitting there doing nothing.
iam deciding which side to take on the abortion subject. so iam would like to hear some opinions. For those people that are pro choice. Do u believe that it takes a life? i guess i am wondering if we believe that a fetus is a living being.
Crystals are ordered structures, therefore Jesus created the universe and died for your sins! QED
BRAVO JEN, BRAVO MATT!!!
@UnlimitedRaikoh i don't know if i agree. I think it completely has to do with the fetus and if it is life. Correct me if i am wrong. So u r saying that the fetus may be human but it is ok to end its life if the mother wants. I can't grasp this.
The only miracle I've ever witnessed was someone like David actually being able to function in society, or walk and chew gum simultaneously, or remember to breathe...
I am wondering if Matt can talk more about belief and knowledge, being knowledge subset of belief. I learned a lot about that but still need to memorize the biases. I have a lot of problems in my life over belief and knowledge.
Everyone does, because they're bullshit words that actually mean the same exact thing, belief. Knowledge is just saying I really, really really believe that.
@MacHead31 Isn't that a quire narrow definition? What about symmetry, patterns, repeatability, predictability etc. ?
Eg. what if I pick a ball up, and it happens to be one of the 10 balls arranged in circle of 10m radius... still order?
I can see what you're getting at though. The initially perfect universe. The ever increasing entropy.
Poor ronald. He was asking how pie, math, physics etc came to be without order or a higher being. Ill take this one matt. They all started out as creation from people creativity and striving to figure shit out and communicate it. It was a progession. Einstein was taught to count...but went on to create.
So, in about a year, we would have all won the jackpot, with a 777 show. :)
My apologies, I now found a video that may be more what you meant "The Black Genocide (Maafa21)", and about 20 minutes in, I have seen some of the quotes you refer to.
These are however quotes from around 1900, and I find it hard to see how these peoples' agendas still exist within the organization today.
Do I have to watch the full 3 hours? A lot of the information, I know already, and a lot of it I don't really find interesting. Or perhaps you can point to a summary of how PP has an agenda?
"Doing the absolute minimal since 1998"
YES
The intro song is dedicated from Atheists to religion.
great great show again :) !!
Derren Brown in my atheist videos, my day is complete.
@Stinukli
He said hemispherectomy, which is incorrect. What he means is corpus callosotomy, where the corpus callosum (the bit of nervous tissue connecting each brain hemisphere) is severed. This is usually done to treat severe epilepsy where no other treatment has proven efficacious. This results in ipso facto two different individuals in the same body, unable to communicate. Hemispherectomy is an extremely rare procedure where one hemisphere of the brain is removed.
Props Kyle!
Yay Jeff!
I donate to Planned Parenthood. I also donate to NARAL, the organization that fights against fundie efforts to prevent Planned Parenthood from doing all the good that they do - sex education, birth control, STD testing, cancer screenings (breast, cervical, testicular, etc.).
thanks for reminding me about NARAL - i was doing 'online activism' (nudge nudge) for them a decade ago but lately (now that i actually have a steady job) i've only spared cash for MSF(DWB) and PP.
Please make an episode about Plantiga's free will defense, Oh Great Matt Dillahunty!
Wow, rough show. But Matt & Jen do a really good job dealing with these people who seems to not actually know what they're saying.
@Stinukli
You're very welcome. And remember kids, neuropsychology rules!
ad for the existence of a soul right before this. lol.
@hopokuk Defunding describes deciding not to continue funding of services. It happens in many countries. Though there does seem to a unique element of well funded ignorant special interest groups de-funding health services that have demonstrable positive effects on public on the basis that "we just don't think it right", "it sends the wrong message" and "its our god given right to be obsessed by other peoples private lives, but we're not judgemental, because sinners will go to Hell."
@AdamRaySiders I like your anagrams. You should try to put them into a poem or a witty writing.
Why is it that so many of the evangelical's CZcams pages (ShockofGod, 1GodOnlyOne) don't allow comments or censor any dissent while pages like that of TheAtheistExperience encourage dissent and debate? Hmm....
lol how does Mark (David) keep getting through?? I wish i could live in Austin so i could screen the calls for them and make sure he "Mark"doesn't waste any more of this wonderful show's time.
Second caller was high. Everyone trys to be deep when their high lol. "Like some kind of mathematical force of nature ya know? Like the speed of light ya know?" What.......... xD Lol yes.
@Murdulo some can be, agreed, but I was wondering if he ever gets tired wasting his energy.
For the second caller: What if there was no "order"/different "order" in the universe? It would fall apart/be completely different from what we have now. So, in order to have the universe be the way it is, it HAS to have this "order", or else you wouldn't even exist/you'd be asking why the universe had THAT "order".
(For all we know this is the only possible way the universe can work without falling apart, or maybe it is now just slowly).
Good show!
Great! No worries.
If you want a comprehensive take on why I hold the position I do it would be helpful to hear the entire case against them instead of some abbreviated argument. Im afraid i wouldn't be able to do it justice in a CZcams comment section but yes the majority of the information presented in that film forms a large part of why I object to that organization in its current form but not necessarily the entire concept of a womans choice.
I'm only 2 mins into this and already I want to turn it off because of that stupid wind noise in the mic. Don't you guys have professional audio people ?
How come my prescriptions arnt showing up ???
To Nathan
Who want’s to live forever?
You know what you could do?
You could have never ending discussions with all people who have ever lived through the ages.
You can hear all life stories from everyone who ever lived over and over again.
I do understand no one can imagine what it means to live a few hundred years. Let alone thousands or millions of years. But forever will be as many years as you can write zeros behind any number,,,,,, forever.
@masticina Actually teenagers are the age group that are the least likely to have an abortion. The most common age group is 19-26 or something like that.
non profitable... thats an understatement
Most of these calls should end with "BABABOOEY!!!"
Theistic reasoning...there are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on all the beaches of the world....but there's only one star with life on it, just so that the Hebrew war god could pull off a plan to rescue a minority of earth humans from the consequences of his own hatred.
how come its so hard for people to understand the burdon of proof?
It doesnt matter who believes what or who you listen or not listen too.
Some form of order was required to cause Pi? Has that guy actually looked at pi? It's not exactly the most orderly number. There's literally no pattern to it. If some form of order that's capable of making structuring math itself caused pi, then pi most certainly would not be the value which it is. The only time pi is a round number is in base pi, base half-pi, base 2*pi, and so on and so forth. Even then, the natural logarithm is still just as icoherent as Pi in any other base and vice versa.
@Lleanlleawrg "Does quality of life mean anything, or is it just life itself that is to be protected in your view?"
rephrase please
How do you describe order? Negative entropy.
@CoreyfromEarth nobody needs to label things, its just much easier to do. By rejecting the word "atheist" you simply force yourself to describe yourself as "a human being w/ no superstitious beliefs or religion" rather then just call yourself an "atheist". Your free to do so but it doesn't change the fact that to normal folk who don't reject the word atheist, you are still an atheist which means you have something "specific" in common with other atheists which means your still in the same group.
@michaelreusser okay, haha, but it was Jen Peebles that said that xD
Isn't it interesting that the word atheist if looked at with separation between the a and t it reads a theist. Maybe we should look to another term describing us non believers? 😊
Jim Land this could be the dumbest comment on youtube
@masticina Ummm.... I was just stating a statistic.
28:14 what about a pardon?
Why do people from the southern USA pronounce "ten years" like "tenures".
skip the intro: 6:30
@coopersnoop The people who founded Israel as a nation only did it because the Bible said it would happen.
As a real world example: Star Trek said that one day we would have hand held devices which allow us to comminicate via voice over incredible distances. The guy who invented the mobile phone only did so because of Star Trek. Is Star Trek suddenly prophetic?
@payasoinfeliz
No the 16% are declared to be atheist or unaffiliated with any religion. They were asked and replyed "none". What kind of religious person would say that?
@noble381297 Well, here are two possibilities: You could either try to have a rational conversation with them about why you're an atheist, and hope they will either see your reasoning and either drop their faith or at least accept your position - or - You could just not bring up the subject and let them think whatever they want.
Personally I'd aggressively argue with them until I either alienated them or won them over, but that's me.
@ScienceWinsEveryTime i think you're right!!!!!
Fair enough:As a person who happens to be african american, the fact it was founded on hate based ideas is a big red flag to me. Whether the current administrators adhere to the ideology or not the fact remains it was founded on those ideals so the question to me is does it fulfill that founding ideology and being that the majority of "clientele" are minorities and given the concentration in low income neighborhoods I would say it does. Though Im open to learning/ changing my mind.
@ThirdRAILKink oh i see what u mean. obviously u don't mean only things that are not conscious or aware b/c remember a person in a coma is unaware but i see what u r saying. i still have a hard time with it. thanks for the input.
Eye warship Satin
Geinologist LOL!
I feel bad for Ronald but I have been in his shoes myself. He is just on the cusp of learning and is far from understanding. The fact that he thinks pi is a constant... wow. Pi is a ratio. It is no different than giving a funny name and greek character to 0.5 since 1 divided by 2 equals 0.5. It just has significance as it is the circle ratio and circles are used to model lots of processes and things making it easier to just use a variable. All Ronald needs to do is start reading books on math and science. The confidence that would provide is incredible as the whole universe does make sense (at some level) after all and you dont have to stick a god in the holes of your lack of comprehension. In fact, merely the process of shrinking the holes in your comprehension is itself enough for most people to arrive at the conclusion that sticking god in any knowledge-hole is unjustified and a logical falacy.
Ronald's logic was way off, but he was right that Pi is a constant, because it is a mathematical constant that describes the ratio between circumference and diameter of a circle. He wasn't wrong there.
@me25422 No not if the mother wants. Im saying compared to the mother's life being in danger, I would value the life that is fostering another life. Considering the fetus as life/human, then in turns of taking a life then yes, its morally wrong. However if the fetus is just congruent to life, similar to a plant in that its living but you dont envision it 'Dying' or being 'Killed' per se. Personally, I think as long as the parents cannot manage to raise a child properly they shouldnt have kids.
Sometimes Matt's smile reminds me of Michael Moore
WTF i never heard of the internet being called Satan's church
@chibicat13
Yeah.. kinda the point not. If you are that young you think you can just do it all. Once you are over 19 things look allot different.
@cruelbusiness1984
It's a reference to a 1992 movie titled "Stay Tuned"
