Established in 1877, Bowman Technical School held the first Pennsylvania license as a trade school and had a tremendous impact on the small town of Lancaster. The Bowman family’s school taught not only watchmaking but also clockmaking, jewelry repairs, and hand engraving. This presentation will explore the history of the Bowmans and their school that operated for 115 years and touched the lives of so many people.
