Would love to understand how the development was financed. That is the biggest challenge for black developers and the thing that was left out of the video.

I have seen so many Africans take the millions that they have made in the tech industry back home to Africa to make their communities better, this is the first time I'm seeing a Black American come home to his community instead of buying flashy cars and big houses to prove his success. @@willettegoudy6143 Challenge is finding the land unfortunately. Large lots of land that are still close enough to public transportation and not a food dessert has been very hard. Will definitely need a few grocery stores on board for a new location.

My husband and I have enjoyed tiny home living for 2 years now. We've had our share of obstacles but moreover nothing beats the freedom of lifestyle that we have. The early retirement (for me), economic empowerment and overall quality of life makes it a WIN for us. Only regret is not doing it sooner.
That is wonderful. At 57 and staring retirement in the face, a tiny home might answer a lot of questions I have about having enough financial resources to be able to retire on my terms. Last thing I want in retirement is to be house poor. Thanks for sharing ! Wish you and your hubby the best!

Great point! Seniors are the fastest growing demographic. There would be great demand. Considering all the thoughtful touches that went into this home he showcased, I can only imagine what he would come up with for those who want to age in place in the most independent ways possible.

This is amazing!! I hope that he plans to take this to other states. Because I can definitely see this already for the Chicago and Gary, Indiana areas, but including his neighboring states like Texas and more. I pray this young businessman prospers immensely because right now this is something so sorely needed, GOD Bless him. And perhaps he can inspire others with this similar dream to put their plans in place. Or reach out to this young man and join together and branch out. Again this is great!!

Glad you mentioned that bcs I recall a story in the news years ago where people died bcs the deck collapsed. There were too many people out on it bcs of a house party though....

I'm a veteran and disabled but not retired I want to build a small house maybe 20x24 in a ranch style because I don't want to climb stairs as I get older and I also want it to have solar as back up power source.

Well done Mr Booker 👍👍. I live in the UK and I loved seeing your community. Apart from being a genius in your designs, I love your commitment to the area you grew up in. It was also great to see a developer talk about providing the best for the community, rather than how much profit the can make. No apartment buildings in order to get as many units as possible out of the Sq footage of land. Your tiny home village is beautifully laid out and you should be very proud of what you have achieved. 👍👍👍. This video came right on time. I believe that is a sign from God for me to get started. I have the same vision however, my tiny homes village will be for homeless people, and seniors. I have a bigger vision. I cannot share every detail of it; but everyday I’m thinking of ways to raise funds, and get people together to get it done. Thank you for this video. 🤗🙏🏾❤️

I’m so proud of him! I’ve thought this way for years but didn’t really know where to go with it. We have quite a bit of farm land just outside some of the larger Cities and towns in southern Me. We need something like this. We have “developments” and trailer parks, but this is different. I know just what he means by efficient & affordable. The rents up here are ridiculous, for old, crappy rundown blgs. Thank you for posting!
Even with the improved insulation and fixtures, a 630sqft home should not cost $1400 - 1500 per month. I love how the young man is proactive in trying to improve a Black community and provide an alternative to renting, but America needs to get its 'greed' problem in check, from the raw materials to the finished product along the supply chain. Just 3 years ago, a $1500/month mortgage could buy a 3000 sqft 2-car garage home on a 1/4 acre lot. America is bamboozling the working-class into purchasing less home for the same cost as a full-size home. Hence the rising homelessness in America.

There's a bunch of tiny house builders.
There's other tiny homes exactly like these homes across the country.
Alot of them are Air B&B though.
Also, there's the Earthships that have passive solar like these homes.
There's Incredible Tiny homes that have been building homes for around 15 years now. There's so many builders of tiny homes now, there has to be a builder in your area.

Just found your channel because I do watch a lot of tiny home channels, and it was recommended to watch and I am so glad I did. These homes were absolutely gorgeous. Love the affordability love that there was attention to detail. Would’ve love to see more of the community, but may be an up-and-coming video you’ll do something like that as well. I love this man’s vision and they’re spectacular. Also love that you could stand up and it’s not a loft type of home. It’s a true home. and so happy that I had a chance to watch and see the next generation of tiny homes, because these were absolutely spectacular and affordable . And what Mr. Washington was saying about Elon musk he is right but the vision is there and I wish Mr. Washington the best of luck because I think he’s going to be wildly successful because this is what people are looking for. Bravo, great job. Love this guy's mentality and his love for his people. And his name. I used to work in building and development in a county government agency in Georgia. As recently as 2007, Georgia didn't require builders to be certified. Builders were coming from all over the US building garbage in Georgia and leaving. There were so many problems with the structures and the land development. This guy is going above the certification and is building long term sustainable properties that require little upkeep. Again, bravo to him for building quality products and having ethical building standards in Georgia.
You are onto something here, all of the comfort features one would expect in larger homes. Micro homes!
I live in NYC. I don't know what the policies are for tiny living here (yet), but I would love for you to build in the outer boroughs. That would be a dream come true! I'm going to pray on it!

Oh My Goodness, this was my idea in 2010. I worked in a homeless shelter, thinking how can I help them? Our church started talking and teaching to be self-reliant. I wanted to implement a situation of an affordable community or village for the homeless with a garden in the center.❤ This is beautiful. The dream and goal is coming.

This is an awesome & inspirational genius black man! Thank you for creating quality affordable homes for people who deserve to own homes if it’s their desire in life. This is what is needed across America for young singles & families. Also our senior community who need affordable housing also. Seniors are living longer and a lot of the senior housing buildings have long waiting lists. The only thing that i wish is that the creator removes the background music, it’s so distracting & unnecessary for to have playing while her guest is speaking. But I want to thank her for bringing this content on the internet. I have young nieces /nephews relatives that live down south and have remote jobs. The young people have options now to move in different states of their choice or other countries and work remotely. They are no longer restricted to staying in certain expensive cities to get better paying jobs. Hoping the best for this young man & his future endeavors! 👏🏾🙌🏾❤️

This is going to take off! This should be the template for every black-owned micro/standard home developer nationwide. Homes truly created with the home owner in mind. Just think, he was raised by a single parent in housing complexes. He took his childhood experience and created homeowner solutions.

Really commendable and inspiring to see someone who saw an opportunity to give back to his community and acting on it. He mentioned how he kept asking why aren't things better in the neighborhood and why isn't anyone doing anything about it and then came to the realization that why not him. It reminds me of the expression, 'if not now then when, if not me then who'. The homes from the outside looked very nice. I would've liked to have been able to see a bit more of the interior, and would've liked to have known pricing for the homes. But really a nice positive story.

This has always been my idea for helping people buy and remodel the small older homes being ignored allowed to get rundown in old neighborhoods.
I refused to pay apt rent and bought a old quick remodelled 1920's 1bdrm but have a yard lot for almost 2 homes. I kept thinking tiny homes could be built onto empty lots and sold or contract buy/rent to lower income people than living in tents.

I’m moving back to the east coast because my physical standard of living has gone down in Ca even though my salary kept going up. I’m exhausted. I hope you keep building more communities. Also, if you have not, please consider touring a cohousing community and including some (not all) of their features into your community. For example they all have a common house with a big kitchen and dining room where they take turns cooking community meals. I’m wishing you all the best.

I read the article a few months ago about the young man who was inspired to build the South Park Tiny Community; what I found most interesting in the video was the quality of materials, the installation to reduce the noise pollution and the care that very few Developer invested when building an affordable community.
