- Greetings brothers and welcome to the final episode of the 10th edition tier list.
In this episode we'll be building a tier list for all the 'vehicle' choices for Blood Angels players in 10th edition of Warhammer 40k. These videos will help you make an informed decision and choose the best units when building your next army list. A big thanks to Mark and Tony for joining me in this video and bringing their expertise to this video.

Thanks for this buddy!
As a new BA player I waned to add some vehicles this has been so helpful thankyou!
Glad I could help!
My tripple Baal Predator firestorm list loves the Baal Predators and it's super annoying for the enemy to deal with based on it's low cost
Any redeemers in there too?
@@ba_commander A redeemer with 6 aggressors and a gravis captain
Haha I love this! Allll the Flamestorms
I did a game with a bunch of flamers, against death guard.
I could see it doing well, just I didn't have the experience with that list.
I think baal pred should be in A. They kill all the crap you don't want to hard commit into and it's fast. If there's infantry in range it can advance and do actions and can deny secondaries with its overwatch
Running the Anvil detachment, I have successfully one-shot Land Raiders and Questoris Knights with the Lancer and the Repulsor Executioner. I normally run one of each, and have the other on standby if the first fails to secure the kill. My local meta is extremely heavy on vehicles though, which may not be the case for everyone.
Currently the dread of the death compagny is in S tier. The dataslate specifies that the Sons of Sanguinus bonus applies throughout the round once it is triggered. Which means that every time the dread responds to an attack it will keep the bonus. The same goes for stratagems: red rampage and aggressive onslaught. In one of my games against a GK he charged a squad of interceptors with red rampage, destroyed them; then destroyed the rhino who had transported them by consolidating at 6 ps with aggressive onslaught, which allowed him to project himself another 6 inches onto the dread knight who was next to him. He survived the aftershock and cleared it. With the stratagem of sons of sanguinus, the dread is monstrous: he is capable of playing billiards with the opposing army and can take out a easily a third of the opposing army if the units are too close to each other.
And now it's even cheaper
A few takes on the tierlist :
From my point of view, the predator Baal is a strong tank, it is pretty cheap so it is a good trading unit to throw in the field early on an objective and it is a very good overwatch unit which is very nice !
Impulsor is very good in BT for the Sword Brethren, it is used a lot in this army, but in BA it does not have that many uses, maybe now similar use with assault int with a captain but one I found interesting was with the flamers marines in the Flamestorm detachment, 5 of them plus the impulsor is 160 points, so it is nice to send on the field, take objectives, really strong anti infantry in this detachment, very good overwatch with the flamers, it is fun in this detachment !
While we're in the Flamestorm detachment, I believe the Lib Dread is really good there too, you use it to tp around 1 or 2 aggressor bomb of 6 flamers aggressors+captain that will dump mortal wounds on the opponent, and can also tp erads that are now strength 10 in the detachment making it a really strong anti vehicle unit !
For the Brutalis Dread, I believe the only way to deliver it is the advance and charge in Gladius ...
Finally, the Reaper is very strong in Ironstorm, it can dump a lot of devastating wounds, in this detachement I would put it in A, but appart from it it is not really good haha
Anyways, amazing work on the tierlist guys ! Thanks a lot, keep up the good work !
Now with the silly 'old'/new Twin-linked rule where vehicle turrets with two co-mounted gatling/assault -cannon guns somehow only get the shots equivalent of one -cannon (acknowledging the reroll wounds), I would take a Baal over the Reaper easy...! 😢🌪🔨
I completely agree
I have been having great results out my Reaper recently. Taking one in my list to the Cherokee Open next week.
Statistically it should only ever do 3.66 MW for 150 points while shooting infantry. I guess I struggle to see why this is any good? I felt it was way better in 9th edition. It can be better in Ironstorm!
@@ba_commander The MW are great, but it has been great in anti infantry shooting in general. I follow it around with a techmarine to hit on 2s. Early game, it's target is usually Oathed for rerolls so I can hopefully proc more 6s for sustained 2. The main gun being twin linked means I typically fish for sixes on tougher targets anyway.
I use the impulsor for 3 bladeguard and a judiciar. I think it has value if you don't feel the absolute need to use every seat. Then it's a mildly tough thing to throw up the board for secondaries after the units disembark. For 80 points it's reasonable I think.
Baal predator does wonderfully to charge into infantry to area block. they need to fall back to do anything worthwhile to it unless you charge something with insane melee, and you can still overwatch things trying to get around it, and then use your shooting with no penalty because you have flamers
They are cheap enough to do that with too
A solitary Whirlwind in a BA army is perfect for removing other marine Infiltrators that mess up any deepstrike plans. Hyper specific, but it is a hard counter to a 10/10 marine unit.
I'm not sure if it's been FAQd now, but the trick that I heard people were doing with impulsors was sticking two squads of eliminators in one with 4 las and move shoot move on the sgts. Disbark in movement, shoot the eliminators move back into the transport and shoot them again from the transport
I'd never heard of this before... is it valid? Sounds strong.
@@ba_commander it definitely used to be. The embark/disembark rules just stop you getting in and out during the same phase and they have definitely stuck with "it's the vehicle that fires the weapons".
I saw it getting play as a combo at the start of the edition and it's fallen out of use, but like I said, I'm not sure if that was because of a specific FAQ about it (my checking this morning says it hasn't been) or if it just got lost in all the craziness.
I drop the normie dreadnought out a stormraven midfield alongside two devastator squads, and it gives them all re-roll 1s for an absolutely sick firing line.
Now i know this is all about blood angles but im just curious. Did you guys see the Dark Angels ironstorm lists that ran 1-2 storm raven gunships that did very well this past weekend. Any thoughts?
I didn’t. I didn’t think the storm even had very good firepower anymore. How was it armed?
From my understanding of how that list works, it's mainly used for utility to fly over and stop people move blocking the dread castle that they are also running, while also having the darkshroud near that gives everything stealth and cover. The stormraven was running plasma and melta
@@ba_commander
It was from the Beachhead brawl tourney in engalnd. Big tourney and there were 4 similar lists in the top 16
Stormraven Gunship (240 Points)
• 1x Armoured hull
2x Hurricane bolter
2x Stormstrike missile launcher
1x Twin heavy plasma cannon
1x Twin multi-melta
Can you shoot using frenzied reprisal whilst in combat? Big guns never tire rule states it only works in the controlling players shooting phase, so is it a phase locked ability?
Because it specifically says attack as if it was your shooting phase I believe it’s valid!
No you can't. It's out of phase.
@@lawrences1347 I think you’re wrong my friend.
The Invictor making people not want to shoot the near by Phobos unit is the entire point.
Why not just shoot another unit or the inVictor itself? The rule seems too niche to be good.
The Libby dread can teleport units on to objectives. I got secure no mans land by teleportinga unit on to middle objective.
It sure can be useful :)
You can teleport centurion devastators or a devastator squad and get line of sight with that. U can even get a combo with a razorback: you deploy the devastator squad in the razorback you make them disembark from the razorback then you make them move in the 12 inch zone of the librarian. At the end of the phase he TPs them at the top of a ruin. U then get the full reroll wounds AND -1AP with plunging fire rules. At the next turn the devastator squad get the ignore covert rule if they dont move. U can even plan this with two squad: after the first squad disembarks, the razorback takes on a second squad which will be teleport with the same process on turn two.
Im not to the end of the video yet, so i dont know if you cover the hammerfall bunker.
But the problem with it is no oc and no indirect fire. If you added those two things (you could raise the cost a little or even one of them) they would be easily takable.
The model looks is debatable, but its almost completely useless, especially for the cost.
You cant even deep strike it.
Think you guys over rate the Vindicator, look at marine lists that do well, you don't see them. You do see lancers, redemptors, thunderstrikes, and even repulsor executioners (plus pred anihilators) honestly I see all those tanks more often. Take Auspex's recent vid of post data slate winning lists for Marines. He highlights lists for regular marines, BA, SW, DW, BT and DA. So ignoring the base marine list that took no tanks because it is vanguard, you have 5 marine lists losing 5 games at GTs between them and not one vindicator. But 4 out of the 5 lists take Lancers, the other one takes anihilators, one of the list takes Redemptors and another a thunderstrike.
You saw the double Vindicator Blood Angels list from LVO that went 6-0 right? czcams.com/video/h6yP8Xhoetg/video.htmlsi=6LUxuhjknzpuxMqN
@@ba_commander Yeh true, but lots of other lists about without them, unless people just don't have them? The Lancer still seems to be the go to anti-tank for many marine lists. Tactical Tortoise showed a 5-1 SW list with thunderwolf cav but the guy was still running two lancers.
@@tajj7 lancers work best against armies without Invluns saves without a doubt. For armies with, I prefer vindicators, I’ve played both multiple times. And I tend to feel the vindicator works better as an all rounder.
@@ba_commander It is a fair point, I wonder if the Lancer is so favoured because there is the mental aspect of those re-rolls just making it feel reliable, whereas the vindicator is a bit more swingy with the D6 damage. Whereas if a Lancer shot does get through the save or invul (which is reliably will because the re-roll to hit and wound) then you are doing at least 4 damage per shot and probably more like 7+ with the re-roll. Whereas yeh a vindicator might have weight of shots so a few more to go through an invul, but you then roll double 1 on the damage and have no re-roll.
I got a feeling once we get our new BA codex, there will be no more Non-primaris era Dreadnought
I hope not :(
Hey! Those are my vehicles for the thumbnail, haha
I hope that's ok!
Maybe put a 5 man death company marines squad in a razorback
Looking good Tony 🤵🧔
Cheers @dadside!
My Brutalis has been simply awful for the cost. It soaks up some dmg but 175 is waay too much.
That's what I found too
I must admit I bought one like six months ago or longer and it’s still on the sprue!
@ba_commander built and battle ready but unlikey to make the table for a bit. It's the ap 2. The few times I've managed to get in with it relatively intact I've rolled poor on the mortals and it just seemed to bounce leaving it exposed without making nearly it's points back before promptly being destroyed
Strike Force Agastus is looking a bit sad these days.
Why do you say the Rhino can't carry assault intercessors?
Because it can't carry Tacticus Marines
Correct!
@@Flyinpenguin117 well that's a stupid rule.
The hammerfall bunker should be it's own category
There isn't a bin deep enough
@@tonyirvingaudio is it solid on the bottom? If not it could be made useful into being made into a bin
@@Mikepaintsred this is the best idea ever - if anyone accidentally owns one we need to check
@@tonyirvingaudio i have confirmed it is hollow
@@Mikepaintsred what did it cost to find that out?
I play if I get hit I
hit back with the DC dread
Sooo wrong on reaper… its a mortal wound monster and is insanely good in ironstorm
Yeah but I guess we’re mainly talking BA.
No mention of the Astraeus? Sad
That was in a different video in the same series, alongside the Thunderhawk. 🙂
Stormraven needs smokescreen methinks
stormraven needs power of machine spirit/assault ramp as well. it was basically a flying land raider after all.
@@sigasana441 very good point!!
Oof everything I own is essentially trash 😂
Wow, this list puts BA in a terrible place. Just a couple of A+ vehicles and everything else sub par is just terrible. No wonder we aren't having any success in tournaments
