I remember the first time I watched this movie, when this scene came up my dad asked me, “Hey, do you think he’s still alive?” I said, “Yeah.”. My greatest achievement in life was getting that right.

@@solomonleo3025 I just knew. I can't really explain it, I just thought, well I bet there's a plot twist where he comes back! I was disappointed when the movie was over and he didn't come back. But when Captain America The Winter Soldier came out I screamed to my dad that I called it! It was truly epic.

Everyone had almost forgotten about that after marvel waited four movies, but then out of the blue it's like, "Hey btw guys, Bucky's alive!" lmao i was so happy cause he was my favorite character too.

It just hurts when you realize that's probably the first time Steve saw Bucky scared, the terror in his eyes as he reached out to him. Bucky had always put on a brave face and was always the one who protected Steve. Must've been pretty upsetting for Cap seeing him that scared.
Steve is a sensitive guy. That probably was scary.
I think Bucky is always trying to put on a brave face in this movie. I mean. He must have known "something" was done to him at the Hydra lab. He just kept on pretending he was just Bucky.
Looking back at this scene, it boggles my mind that regular dudes are actually joining Cap in attempting to land on a train not much wider than them with frikin ZIP LINES.

@@yodatscrazy981 Funny enough, I was on about 11 when Avengers came out, so I had only seen Iron Man. Blew my mind when I saw that all these other heroes had their own movies and they were all connected. Cap's been my favorite ever since.
I rewatched this movie before rewatching all 6 episodes of FatWS at once and I realized how great a movie this was. Cap's trilogy is definitely the best in the MCU.

It's so emotional for Steve because Bucky wasn't just a friend. Bucky's family saved Steve after his last parent died. Bucky was more like the protective big brother. So to Steve, that was his failing to save family that he loved. It's why he took it so badly.

Yes. I believe so. Although he might not know how strong he is. He must have felt that something was off about himself. Ever since he was recued I felt that the the actor played Bucky differently. Bucky was WAY more energetic, his voice higher pitched in the beginning. But maybe Sebastian was just playing a guy who was tortured and experimented upon....it's definitely a different Bucky after the recue and it's not all about seeing Steve as Cap. But yes to your questions. Bucky received a variant of the serum and that's why Steve sees bucky strapped onto the table.

When I first saw this in theaters like many others, Bucky flew under my radar and saw him as a side character without much importance. Then 3 years later, he was the winter soldier and we started giving him the attention he deserved.👍

Most TV’s were ‘mechanical’ and broadcasting was beyond difficult.

In the 1940’s, that’s about as science fiction as the energy based weapons.
At least the fictional ‘tesseract’ was an explanation for the weapons.
There was no fictional or real object that could give the nazi’s a 50 year jump forward in audio-visual technology.

The costume worn by Bucky Barnes on the speeding H.Y.D.R.A. train is very similar to the costume he wore in the comic books (minus the mask).
As Cap is about to use the zip line, Montgomery kids him, saying, "Mind the gap." This is a reference to the London tube system in which signs - and later recorded audio - tells passengers to be careful not to step into the gap between the platform and the subway car. The tube gap is about eight inches. The gap in this instance is about a thousand yards. This joke is actually an anachronisms, because the "mind the gap" warning was not instituted until 1968.
