- Silas has been having mysterious nightmares that make him scared he might hurt those around him. In order to protect his neighbors, Silas has decided to build a homestead deep in the woods of Falkreath, far from civilization. Can he make a new life for himself? And will he ever find out where the nightmares come from?
Thank you all so much for watching and enjoying the last Skyrim video. I was blown away when I got 1,000 views practically overnight, and I can't even begin to describe how amazed I am now with over 300k views! I really appreciate all the supportive comments, especially from people who said my video inspired them to replay Skyrim again. I really hope you like this one, and please leave feedback in the comments! If you have an idea of what town I should play in for the next video, let me know! And thanks to my dad for voicing Silas. Thanks again, and enjoy!

This series really works because no one else really does 'narrative' challenges.
Jacoby Wakeby does some too if you’re looking to watch more
Closest I’ve seen is a guy named Jacoby Wakeby. He doesn’t do so much narration as he does “real life” type challenges
@@elysian7510He’s my brother, he’ll be interested to see that people are suggesting him to others
You should give GamenOnHardMode a chance then, kinda similar stuff
The gentleman responsible for reading the diary entries would make for a good Skyrim mod VA.
I strongly concur, your father did an amazing job.
"Oh hey look, a fun little skyrim challenge video" to "Absolutely captivating cinema" so fast
Videos like this make me wish there were more fantasy role playing/life sim games out there that focus less on combat and more on being a normal guy living in world that just so happens to have dragons, magic, sapient non-humans and that sort of stuff.
If you give up the fantasy aspect of what you want, you can play Medieval dynasty, which is sort of what you are looking for tbh
There are a fair few farming and life sim games on steam that do that. The thing is you need to give up 3D graphics to play them, but they're there.
"Spiritfarer" is a HIGH recommendation. You're basically the afterlife's ferryman in that game. "Wytchwood" is a game where you play as a witch brewing potions and balancing things in the woods. "Journey" is the obvious choice, and is free on some platforms.
There are more but those three are a good place to start
Fantasy Life and the Rune Factory series would likely be absolutely up your alley. Very whimsical games too.
You may legitimately have better world building, writing, and story telling than Bethesda themselves. Was captivated the entire time. Amazing video man
Remember when that fucking bar was _actually above_ ground?
@@seand.g423 what do you mean?
@@dyldo_c13 "better world building and writing than Bethesda"...
A Volkihar Vampire that escaped from the castle, trying to just live peacefully in Solitude after he had heard of the owners of Halfmoon Mill trying to live peacefully in Falkreath.
That could be an interesting one.
Or the Pale since there's a hearthfire house there.
Great stuff! Your dad did a bang up job as Silas' VA
My partner and I watched the Whiterun video and ever since then I've been dying for more videos like it! I was super disheartened when I realize most videos are just talkovers instead of narrative storytelling. Seeing that you made a 2nd one, instantly brightened my day! I would love to see you do Windhelm or Riften, just because of how bleak those places are! Thank you for making such fun content!
Also your dad did a perfect job voicing Silas!!
That was your dad? I thought you went and hired a voice actor, man. He should do audiobooks
I love these videos.
I would love to see a surviving in Riften video. Dealing with the thieves guild and fishing for money? Lots of potential
i want one where he is a dark elf having to deal with windhelm racism
wow! your dad did fantastic V.A work, and i hope he knows it, these "narrative challenges" are really cool and thank you for all the work you've put in to carve this particular gem of a story!
Ha! I heard Silas and thought
“Wait. I know you.”
Amazing work, y’all!
Awesome video! A Reachman in Markarth video could be neat.
Your dad helping you out is actually so awesome man
Your storytelling is so good! I love it so much!!
For the next video you could maybe be an alchemist in the north, foraging for rare herbs and berries in the snowy tundra and swamps. Just be sure to grab the campfire mod for those long nights out picking berries. The north is unforgiving, you wouldn't want to die from the cold.
i think i like this one even more than the previous one to be honest! As for differant place's to try a similair challenge maybe trying to be a normal student at winterhold could be fun, having to scrape thogether a living in between classes and expeditions
The vanilla college is really lame. But with mods it can be greatly improved
Yay another episode! The Whiterun vid both made me sub and got me back into Skyrim, thank you mate! Edit: If your dad doesn't already have a lucrative voice acting career then wow :) Would love to see Wildhelm or Solitude ep
damn silas is going through it
Love the videos!! Your dad is iconic for this performance
As for suggestions, go full Gotham City with a Riften video!
You should do Haafingar!! It would be so interesting to see how you could use Solitude to your advantage. Also The Rift would be cool as well, I know some of the Thieve’s Guild’s quests go out of the hold but it would be good storytelling, plus there’s the alchemists shack for a starter home
Keep up the good work! For the next hold it would be really interesting if you did something like Riften, but instead of can you make an honest living, you could try making a dishonest living, only selling things through the fence and what not. Outside of that, Markarth could be really fun if you tied in the slave stuff they have going on with the mines!
Your dad is such a great VA, he really gave Sila's words meaning ❤
I love this video, your writing skills are amazing
A new hand has touched the becon
Ive been super excited for this
So much heart in these videos, you're an excellent storyteller.
You should do a video were you have to live as a thief. You can go around Skyrim but your only a rookie thief so you don’t take challenges to hard. You could build a camp as a base. I think joining the thieves guild would be different then just being a thief because you can make more money easily then if you just steal and commit other crimes.
I'm the middle of a Skyrim narrative phase myself so your videos have been really fun to watch. You're doing the job that Bethesda wishes it could with lore and world building here.
I was expecting a play through as usual with a video title like this and instead I received the gift of an earnest, fascinating story. I’m so looking forward to your future videos. Kudos to Papa Varlik as well for the immersive voice acting
Yay I’m glad you’re continuing this! I always forget there’s a shopkeeper in falkreath with the same name as me bahahaha
I absolutely loved both of your make a living wage in Skyrim videos! They felt like watching a very good movie.
BTW, it's so heartwarming your father helped you by voicing the main character here, he did a great job, too!
Riften has a lot of potential for sure, solitude could be wild as well
I really love how the bethesda challenge scene keeps evolving.
Not just "speedrun with x limitation" but things like these, where it's not about "finishing" the game a certain way, but by setting other goals.
On my last Skyrim playthrough I decided to just not be the dragonborn that saves the world. I'm just yet another adventurer out for glory and wealth. Learning a trade, buy a house, find love, start a family, and get rich enough to retire.
Another great one!! Skyrim videos help me sleep, this one was especially soothing ❤
First time running into your videos and was shocked that your channel is still growing!! The quality is amazing and I really enjoyed it :) Keep up the good work
im not crying youre crying! honestly what beautiful storytelling, to be able to take skyrims amazing world building and twist it into your own narritive in such a way is truly amazing, i hope we get to see more of these videos for each hold in skyrim
This was awesome!! Loved the voice acting. I'd love to see you try Windhelm as a Dalf Elf.
I really enjoy the more narrative parts, like the opening and near the end, where you sound more calm, it really creates a better atmosphere that really convey the story you present. I personally would say, if you do narrative videos where you lean more into this "telling a story" with footage vibe it would make great content. In any case great work on the video and thank you for making it
Another banger. Challenges used as vessels for storytelling is an art-form you make masterpieces with.
If you decide to do one in Windhelm, a dark elf or argonian dealing with the oppression they face there would be a pretty good story, and having a restriction on nord npcs or something similar would be interesting to see too
awesome video man! so glad you uploaded again!!
Nice Senile Scribbles reference at 14:18 I love this videos. This is my first video I’ve seen from you and I’ll watch more, I got bad news today and after calming down I’m sitting and enjoying a comfort meal with enjoying your story boarding and narration. Thanks :)
OMG I almost got scared you weren't going to voice the video and got sad! So glad you're still round!!!!
These videos make me wish I could play Skyrim for the first time again.
Also, I love that your dad helped you out. So wholesome and he did a fantastic job!
This was a lovely video! Loved the story!
Best 24 minutes of skyrim content I’ve ever seen. Well done! 👏👏👏👏
love, love, LOVE your storytelling in these videos! your dad's a good voice actor :) i think a khajiit in one of the colder holds could be fun.
Please continue this series, you do such a great job and it's so enjoyable to watch.
Thought to myself that you were due for an upload about three or four days ago. Woke up to a great surprise this morning.
Oh wow, it's so cool that your dad did the voice acting!!!! Really liked this, so unlike other challenges. I look forward to more!
I think Windhelm would be a good next choice, seeing as how often these characters start as peasants and beggars it would be interesting to see the interactions between an everyman/woman interact with the discrimination the dark elves experience. The narrative format is extremely endearing and exceptionally well written
Having such a character took me by surprise and I love him
Fantastic! I absolutely love these narrative challenges. You are an excellent storyteller. Please keep up the amazing work!
This is a fantastic watch! I love the narrative style to these challenges. They really have so much heart in them.
Really love this content. I hope it pops off like the other. Please do keep it up :D
i absolutely love these challenges!! you add so much depth to them and it makes it feel like you're actually accountable to the choices!
Loving this series. Your character building and storytelling are incredibly gripping. Looking forward to more!
Adding roleplay to this video was a stroke of genius. Really interesting watch👍🏻
Honestly? Absolute banger of a video.
Solid writing of a low-stakes but no less interesting story. You don't always need an epic tale, sometimes a man finding peace can be just as fulfilling.
Kudos to you, have a like :)
Greatest gift to TES fans since the creation of Drewmora
Your instinct for narrative and storytelling is incredible. So exited to have caught this in its infancy. You have huge potential ❤
Incredible work weaving a subplot into this challenge!
Big props for the video, really liked the Whiterun video, loved this one!
Idea for another play through: Orc Hunter, maybe cast out of their original stronghold and trying to find a new home?
So cool!!! I love that this is becoming a series. Can't wait to watch the next one.
You should do Markath as someone starting from the warrens. OR morthal, since there you have a whole vampire quest, and you have the NCP who cures vampirism there.
I really enjoy the narrative aspects of these videos. In a niche where every single topic has been done a hundred times over, it's really cool to throw in a roleplaying twist on these concepts. Plus your dad did awesome VA work!
Oh, I know why the wolves attack the town but not the lone woodcutter.
1) he is just another creature within nature, not part of encroaching civilization.
2) another hunter in the woods. Armed not with claws and jaws, but with an axe.
And I absolutely see that there might be stuff in baskets and wagons to take. People got more than they need and decided to share their plenty.
I love these narrative challenges!
also your dad should voice a custom follower
i love the willful ignorance you approach some of the darker quests with, like the razor in this episode at 15:11 and grelod's death in the whiterun episode. of course it's in character for you to not know what they are so it makes sense, but each time it just gives "huh, i wonder who that's for" and it makes me laugh
i'd love to see you try an argonian for one of these, they're my favorite race 🦎
Damn! I thought I was going to watch another challenge video but you surprised me with a bonus story! Your dad did an excellent job with the narration! I hope you'll continue making these. They are really entertaining and unique.
Love the new content!
This is great content. Your dad did a great job. I really enjoy these. Good mix of real gameplay and narrative. Keep up the great work.
It'd be fun to see your take on a non-Forsworn Reachman in the Reach, trying to stay true to their Reachman heritage and customs but not taking an active role in the conflict, at least at first.
This series fucking rules. Actually made me want to play the game again for the first time in YEARS
I would like to suggest you do Markarth next, as it has a lot of deadric quests and lots of lore with the foresworn and the reach in general. also these videos are amazing, love this kind of lore driven content in the elder scrolls.
Death always bothers my immersion so I got the Death Alternative mod. Instead of just getting killed because of low health mechanics you're thrown away or wash up somewhere, or rescued by monks, Companions, other NPCs etc. where they heal you for your "wounds".
These are well done. You and your dad did a great job with the voices. You bring depth to the characters. Looking forward to more.
You and your dad did great this episode i hope we get to see more of his voice work (also might i recommend can become filthy rich in solitude?)
Are you asking me? Nah I can't I get bored doing chores.
Dude, you're really good at this! As a combination gamer and grizzled writing teacher, I can say that you've got an excellent ear for storytelling. Keep it up!
Your narration is so soothing!!! Would love to see more skyrim vids in the future
the amount of jot this sparks is unprecedented. i adore the earnestness in your stories, the inventive narrations, it's so inspirational as a writer and a fellow skyrim lover. bravo!!!
Silas found the Horseless Headsman.
Excellent video! I’d love if you did Solitude, not sure the story it would be but I’d love to see. Also, your dad did such a good job that I thought he was an actual voice actor
Omg that so sweet your dad is silas voice, so lovely ❤ great video btw ❤
Amazing as always!! I’m really loving these videos. I think a non-college Winterhold native would be interesting! Especially with the challenges of survival mode and warmth.
This is amazing! You bring so much life back into Skyrim for me. Please make more of these!
cool video!
I really like these videos, I hope we get to see more of them. The idea of being just a regular citizen but having some type of captivating backstory is really nice. Maybe a Riften story could be next?
Either way, you're making me want to pick up Skyrim again, so keep up the good work!
Interestingly enough, from what I've seen in the lore, that ring isn't just giving him full control of his werewolf transformation. It also makes the wearer immortal, meaning that he'll live a peaceful life for centuries to come!
Man, I love those stories!
Also, hurray for family business!
XD
These videos are amazing! The storyline is gripping, and this is the reason I live Skyrim so much. It can be anything we want ❤
I think, for a next video, a reachfolk trying to establish their own homestead in the reach or an orc striking out from one of the strongholds to make their own, new, one would both work wonderfully!!
You and your dad did a great job!
Definitely, falkreath has a woodcutters building, this means that lumber working jobs are availiable 😮😮potentiol to earn a lot of gold if youve got a strong swinging arm
You are so underrated, these videos are awesome.
dont stop brother the youtube algorithm will recognise you soon
For what it's worth when you get to windhelm, I can do a great Vvardenfell Dunmer voice if you want to use any dialogue lines
I really RRALLY enjoy these story driven videos!
We're going to need more videos like this! Maybe a "can you make a living wage" video that takes place in Riften or Winderhold?
Wanted to let you know that this video gave me inspiration for a skyrim playthrough. The video was more than amazing as well!
This was great! I'm sure there's a good narrative to explore in Riften, as the character's resistance to stealing clashes with the thieves guild presence in the hold
