Turbo went on my van so a got a new turbo done exactly what this video said apart from my mines never had a dpf and I done all 4 injector seals and runs like brand new I’ll be changing the oil ever 6k hopefully I have no problems for a while hahaha
When I got the warning light on my dashboard, and the "Anti Pollution Fault" message,I tried nearly all the DPF filter cleaners available. A couple worked for a few days, and the warning beep, and message reappeared. I finally tracked it down to the DPF pressure sensor, costing about £30,and replaced in a few minutes. My car is a 2007 C4 Picasso 1.6 Hdi VTR,and there are two types of sensor fitted to this car,,so be careful! My car runs fine now,(although it ran fine before!),but no warning lights,or messages now!
hi colin thanks for uploading this had problems with my 207 1.6 hdi dpf blocked which lead to turbo failure i know you said the ecu will need a dpf delete but will they run ok without ? in orkney and the local garage cant do the ecu dpf delete passed the mot last month so not to worried about any warning lights as long as it runs ok any advice woild be greatly appreciated.
Got a c4 Picasso, anti pollution light on, used to not start again once been driven and heated up, now conks out continuously if revs applied though I think that's limp mode saving the engine. The dpf has black gunge/liquid round the jubilee clip, is it ok just to clean out the dpf? Limavady area btw
Hi, Can the EGR and DPF both be deleted with the Lexia/Diagbox software bought off ebay? Turbo just gone on my 2007 1.6 HDI C4 Grand Picasso and looking at either a replacing just the turbo core/cartridge and all oil pick-up in the sump and turbo feed pipe and banjo bolts.
Hi , no it can't be removed with any dignostic tool. It must be done by someone who ECU re-mapping its the only it can be done. As for your turbo problems just follow the video and you should be good or leave your car with us and we will sort it all for you.
All taken apart today, turbo gone big time so going for a complete replacement. Looking at DPF removal as this is apart now too (although not too dirty, just a few mins flushing through the reddy/brown water to clear), is it easy to remove the filter itself in the lower section as it seems to be an 8" thick filter ? Drill out rather than cut cylinder in half and re-weld it back. Thank you in advance
Hope you read this! I have a 2007 1.6 HDI c4 I’ve done a turbo replacement but the car is still lacking in power! Won’t rev past 3000rpm. Could this be the EGR? Or the DPF blocked? I did take off the DPF and jet wash it but maybe it’s still restricting the flow? Thanks!!
I'm getting the anti-pollution fault warning on my Peugeot 3008 1.6 diesel. It appears that the turbo actuator is sticking. Above 3000rpm there is a noticeable loss of power. Local garage quoted over £1000 for a new turbo. it sounds like I need to shop around or do it myself. Can these turbos be reconditioned, and would that be a cheaper option?
go on to e bay and type your car and ask for a turbo cartridge and all you do is take your cartridge of your turbo and put the new one on about 100 pounds i think
Hi Colin, Good video. I just got a 2007 2.0 turbo diesel that needs a new turbo. I agree blanking off the EGR. I've done on my X type 2006 and it runs way better!!! Where are you based? I would like to take my Citroen to you to sort it out.
I thought the reason for turbo failure on these was down to oil starvation caused by clogging of the oil filter in the turbo oil feed? The oil goes bad due to injector seals going and ingestion soot into the oil - hence clogging the filter? Surely that has nothing to do with removing the DPF? As a result the entire engine needs to be stripped down and decoked otherwise 20,000 miles later you will kiss goodbye to another turbo. PSA realized there is a fault with the bolts that hold down the injectors and have since rectified this by changing the type of bolt. Frequency of changing oil and the correct spec of oil is critical with these engine and they will go on for 100,000's of miles.
As a qualified marine diesel technician, I can assure you that you are talking rubbish Lee. Ingestion is a term used in human biology, not diesel engineering. Soot will not get into the oil because there are pistons rings between the combustion chambers and engine oil. Although rings can gum up within diesel engines that are run at low load for many hours, like 700 hours for example. This guy knows basically what he is talking about because he has years of experience and knows this particular engine design inside out and back to front. You can decoke as you put it an engine by using a good, detergent oil flushing product at every oil change. Never use a solvent based oil flush. Oil flush should be used in all engines at every oil change and most people do not bother. Coke is a word usually used to describe the by product of burning coal, although both diesel and coal are hydrocarbons, so you are technically correct, but it might be worth using the right terminology before starting to question other people, such as Colins expertise in public.
Hi, I set out with my 207 1.6 HDi vehicle. On the way, the depollution system faulty letter burned and the engine pain relief lamp turned on, my vehicle fell out of traction, but I arrived at my destination.
if you empty the cDPF the turbo will spool like crazy and probably blow up right? and how much black smole will be flowing out of the exhaust every 2 mins ?
what the video again, I only remove the DPF filter and leave the cat inside, the cat will filter the any fumes and smoke. The turbo will work just fine regardless of the DPF/CAT unit being empty or not
@@colinhagan4378 I've already done it. I drilled a hole on. My Dpf.. Not fully emtied..the car turbo now spools like mad and blows black smoke out. I haven't touched my cat.
also remove inlet manifold and decoke it and check injector seals and if possible have the cyclinder head dipped and cleaned and have oil pump changed at next timing belt renew...
You dont disconect it, fill the tank with diesel and reset it with dignostic scanner in the reset funtions menu. Then you will need to get a DPF and Additive remap done.
Having issues with a 2008 307 HDi 1.6: engine oil pressure low warning keeps showing, changed oil and filter which was badly clogged, same fault after only 200 miles. Could this be exhaust carbon escaping into the oil via turbo?
I got the same error message, but this is not right, my message came 30min after I filled diesel car, checked the error code, and then it was the fuel cap which was not bolted properly, stop engine, open the lid, close the lid, so you can start again. then disappears error

What the point is to replace the turbo oil feed line? Maybe it's enough to flush? Or I need improved one? With bigger diameter or what?

Hi it will eventually put the management light on for D P F issues, you will need to get the EUC Software modified
I'm going to try washing dpf with kerosene and power wash after. I think there are clamping on dpf removal.

how much should this work cost to be done as I think my turbo has gone and wondered iff it is worth getting done or just scrap the vehicle

Something to do with magnets on the filler cap that that activates the FAP cleaning
