    this video has sold me on the Denon Prime 2 (yes, i know this is 2 years old, but my budget limit is roughly $1600, so these 2 were the top runners). I'm coming from Traktor, so the software is a non-issue since i would be learning a new software no matter what. THANK YOU!

      The 2 Is the bomb!
      I LOVE mine...
      Especially with the engine lighting update...
      I got me one of those 25 or $30 sound switch USB dongles and 30 days of the software for free and I made light shows for my entire Library..
      So glad I decided to go with the Prime 2 over a Pioneer system..

    I have the prime 2 and i hadnt been near a dj setup in 11 years and never having a go of cdj/digital systems. Only ever had vinyl. I love my prime. Only pioneer unit ive had a play with was a ddj1000 and i personally liked my denons better. More than likely because they were familiar.
    The pioneer i still think are very good which is why 99% of clubs use pioneer dj. They are the digital equivalent of the 1210 in my opinion. There at the top for a reason. Saying that i would not push my denons to the side and buy a pioneer unit, but that is my preference. Everyone has different opinions. Its all about what suits your style and set up. I love denon because there stand alone. Load a usb and go! Pure simplicity. But you still have the options to stream and use other sources.
    Another point ive had two sets of 1210s and then moved to citronic pd45’s and ive only ever used them since, i love the amount of pitch and the pure torque they offer aswell as start and stop trims which 1210’s dont have. To me there the best things ive ever used. But that doesnt mean ide tell any 1210 dj they got the wrong set up. I think my point here is everyone has a different style, a different opinion, etc.
    To me if it fulfils your requirement, they perform well and your happy with the price go for what you like. But the next person will still say should have got some pioneers and 1210’S. now should we start the yamaha vs krk debait ?
    This comment in now way was to start telling people there wrong. Was more just to say ive made completely different choices in not buying the most common main stream equipment out there. And im still as happy as the day i bought them and dont regret my choice 👌

  • @LyK0sa
    @LyK0sa Před 4 lety +3

    Honestly, I think the only thing the RX2 has going for it now is the club standard layout. It's a great way to familiarise yourself with pioneer's slightly unintuitive loop and beat FX controls, which you'll definitely encounter if you end up playing on club gear.
    The fact that the denon units will analyse new tracks on board, and even work with rekordbox libraries, makes denon the clear winner on paper. That said, I'm probably not going to be parting ways with my RX2 any time soon, it's still a damn good bit of kit and I don't think the prime 2 is enough of a gamechanger to warrant an upgrade

    • @KizawaDJ
      @KizawaDJ  Před 4 lety

      That's it isn't it. Denon are making massive moves but not doing enough to drag people away from Pioneer. Especially, if like you, they already have a high end piece of Pioneer kit. Definitely making steps in the right direction though. Cheers for the comment Joe 👍

Ne completely different question I have and would be very happy if you could help me there: would you recommend 2 x JBL Partybox 1000 in combination with Prime 4 or SC6000 as a PA system? because they are easier to transport thought me get them to me but unfortunately do not know me technically with it . Would be happy about a short feedback. Kind regards

    How can you tell which is best without a hands on test?
    Reading specs is one thing, but hands on is the only way to really tell.

    • @KizawaDJ
      @KizawaDJ  Před 4 lety +3

      I disagree, after personally DJing on tons of different DJ systems I can personally say that they all perform the same. It's the features and specs that set them apart. Jogs are jogs, knobs are knobs. It's what they can do what others cant that separate them. But, I literally break down things like the RX2 has a laggy screen, which isn't a spec or feature but something that people criticize the RX2 for. I extensively researched each system to bring you an in depth analysis of the two systems. Sure you can be critical of the fact I dont have the two side by side and hours of experience on the two but realistically theres very few people who will have that pleasure. I gave you my results from the extensive research I did and DJ knowledge that I have.

    • @KizawaDJ

      No, I'm literally saying a DJ system is a DJ system, they all mix music, it's the creative features and specs that set them apart.

    • @LyK0sa
      @LyK0sa Před 4 lety

      @@biddlybongdavinport5995 I mean, it's not really that different, is it? It's a direct competitor with the same basic feature set.
      The only handy feature that the prime 2 is missing is the ability to function as a standard analogue mixer. That might not be a big deal for some users, but it really streamlines things when other DJs are playing from different media sources. Just plug everything into the RX and switch the channels between onboard, line and phono as required. I'd never used this feature until recently, but it saved us a lot of faffing about switching gear between sets. It seems odd that they didn't include it on the prime 2, especially since the 4 is able to do it.

    I tested both, in this video you only see advantages to the Denon DJ. Here are the few drawbacks that I noted: the wifi connection to 3 million songs is a paid subscription so you will have to increase the price of 1500$, all the effects are not as accessible as on the pioneer which really makes the difference when you mix live. The images in the middle of the jog of the denon dj prime 2 is useless. I think that when you start mixing, the Denon DJ seems to be more user friedly by the accessibility of its screen and the limitation of access to all the effects. If you want to progress, the Pioneer DJ will take a little longer to learn to master the effects but the level of mix and creativity will be higher, and that is really fun. With only $ 200 difference you really have to ask yourself the question of what you want to do with it and the level of mix you are looking for. Do not get carried away by the new Denon screen touch, unless it is just to impress the audience ;)

    • @m-stat9
      @m-stat9 Před 4 lety +4

      I am not surprised to see a Pioneer product on your avatar. We could just respond "do not get carried away by the club standard mantra" as well. The XDJ/DDJ/CDJ hardware is greatly inferior and partly outdated (screen really not a joy to use), Pioneer is greedy with RB6 and instead of great firmware updates with new functions for FREE, you can pay for a new Mk2, Mk3... version. Open your eyes, dude.
