How To Secure Your Farm or Homestead Loads With Chains and Binders
If you have ever needed to load or haul something, you may have used a chain and a binder to secure it. If not, they are two parts to one of the most widely used load securement systems in the world. Chains and binders act together to secure loads tightly to a trailer or other form of transportation and have sizes and load ratings that can accommodate anything from a small tractor up to giant presses and industrial equipment that weighs hundreds of thousands of pounds. Learning to use cargo securement devices such as chains and binders and cargo straps, or ratchet straps, can help you keep your load secure and ensure safety for you and other travelers. Take a look around as you travel the highways and you'll notice the use of chains and binders by truck drivers, hot shot delivery drivers, and on back roads, it's also common to see farm equipment loaded and secured with chains and binders. This video shows my John Deere 1050 loaded on my Big Tex trailer. Its being pulled by my Ram 2500 with a cummins diesel.
If you need a few chains and binders for your load securement, a good size is 5/16" You can get grade 70 transport chain and binders by clicking the links below.

You did great on this video brother. Getting ready to haul my first utility tractor, and never used binders before. Thanks!
Nice simple vid.
As a former JD hauler, using lever binders, I would take the slack shown on your ratchet binders and wrap it around the lever and secure with rubber snubber. To keep it from popping open.
Yes. That’s a great point when using lever binders. I’ve seen everything from the loose chain and a tarp strap to tie wire and zip ties through the lever to keep it in place should something go wrong. Even a tire going flat on the tractor could loosen a chain enough for the binder to release
Great Video
Nice GreenYellow machine and good video.
Thanks. It’s a small older Deere that’s been used hard but it still works well for bush hogging
Good video!
Thank you great video
