She is like my mirror of Music. Appreciate.
Very talented and so beautiful - a real pleasure to watch her!
Never had I experienced such a methaphysical, poetic, divine spiritual emotions before.
Heaven must have sent you from above Bomsori Kim.
you are the most fabulous violinist nowadays !
I keep dancing to the tunes of your classical brilliancy !
Bless you Bomsori !
She will have a wonderful career.
One word describes her outstanding performances . . . perfection!
I liked her and her playing more than the winner.
She is so natural!
Dla mnie Kim jest najlepsza, ma w sobie to coś, co przekonuje mnie, Kim kłaniam się do twoich stóp. Jesteś królową
She is such a beautiful and talented person
It's so amazing😁
"Bomsori" means sound of spring. I love her music. This is amazing
muy buena solista
I love her tone of violin.
Qué excelente interpretación del 2° Concierto del compositor Wieniawski. Bomsori pone el alma y la técnica en sus actuaciones y esto se transmite. Belleza personal y musical. Enhorabuena.
For obvious reasons Bomsori-Kim will be the winner by a mile when it comes down to concert bookings, eg Bomsori-Kim is not only a divine violinist but also very beautiful !!
Los primeros planos de Bomsori Kim transmiten con su violín el sentimiento profundo de esta pieza musical .Una gozada para el oído y la vista
Ona jest genialna💖
바이얼린 계의 여제~!!
I have followed this wonderful violinist for years, but I was a little nervous about this concerto. To my knowledge she has never played it in competition before, and she just played the Mendelsohn concerto with orchestra in Prague and Tokyo a few days before this competition started, so I wondered how she would have the time to prepare. About 30 seconds into it, I realized there was nothing to worry about. She must be one of those crazy talents that learned this concerto at the age of 9 or 10. Such beautiful playing! She has always had the most beautiful tone and been able to project music on an emotional level that is unique. And now, she can easily compete with anyone on a technical level. How she finished 2nd is beyond me. She also gave an amazing performance of the Shostakovich concerto in part 2. Can anyone explain why that performance is not on You Tube?
John Graeler I think Mendelsohn is harder than this actually.
The Shostakovitch is on CZcams with Kim playing it. I will not listen to it although I know she probably did wonders with it - I dislike that concerto (I only like about three dozen measures of it.)
@@violinhunter2 I too dislike the work of Shostakovich. When I was in college I bought his prelude and fugue series. It was pure BS. Sorry, I am sure someone somewhere has a great reason to admire and praise this composer.
It was the best performance of Wieniawski concerto on this competition.
Listen to it without the video (maybe two or three times) and you might change your opinion.
she did make a few mistakes and the notes where not as accurate as Okomoto's performance. I liked Okomoto better than most of the other competitors in this competition
Be great indeed.
Tak po góralsku: piknie!
3rd mvt sounded really fast!

Can I get more information about method of binaural recording used here? Is it, so called, 'artificial head' recording? If so, where, more or less, was it located in the hall? Seems quite distant from the orchestra, anyway sounds nice on headphones.
Let me answer to your questions with pictures: www.wieniawski-competition.com/konkurs-lutniczy/en/aktualnosci/binaural-recordings/, www.wieniawski-competition.com/konkurs-skrzypcowy/en/galeria/gallery-stage-4-21-10-2016/?image=25

Kim later recorded this thing with the Warsaw Philharmonic. Great recording it is - much better than this performance.

what's up with the funky audio?
What do you mean?
David Bento I was wondering the same thing
I agree. It sounds like the mics were too far away, or like the closer mics are too low in the mix. As a result the solo violin is a bit distant, quiet, and muddied by the hall's reverb.
It sounds like there are doubled audio files or something lol
This is the BINAURAL recording version. Stereo version of this video is also available from this uploaded account.

It was fast last mvt but a bit pitchy at times and spiccato not flawless like the winner did - fast isn't always a great thing - it has to be controlled - she's still great but I liked the winner who won best on this concerto - I can see why she won - am a Juilliard alumna on violin - so I think I know a little on this 🙃
annajeehee who won may I ask? And where can I listen to them play haha must've been quite a performance
