  • So I went to go grab a snack and refill my water until the fire alarm went off at the Doubletree Hilton hotel I’m staying at in Niagara Falls, New York. The reason it looks like I’m not evacuating because before the scene I ran back upstairs, one of the staff told everyone in the lobby it was a false alarm, then a stranger told me that there was another person that said there was a carbon monoxide leak (location unknown). At the end, I was told it was indeed a false alarm and everyone went back inside. I made sure I had my room key, my phone, and my wallet (which you always bring before evacuating. I don’t even know which person to believe prior to the cause. In this video, there were several things wrong.
    - Dysfunctional speakers on the first floor and a dysfunctional strobe on the second floor stairwell
    - Someone who took the elevator downstairs during a fire alarm. DO NOT USE ELEVATORS DURING A FIRE EMERGENCY!
    - People waiting in the lobby (I don’t think this is a huge deal though, since there wasn’t any signs of smoke)
P.S. I refilled my water and as well as get a Snickers candy bar for free after the video! What a treat!
    Alarms:
    System Sensor SPSR speaker strobes
System Sensor SPR remote speaker (in my hotel room)
    System Sensor SR wall strobe
    System Sensor SCR ceiling strobe
System is a Gamewell FCI S3 of some sort!

00:32 What caused the speakers to not work properly on the 1st floor was the wires from the speaker amplifier that connected the zone 1 speakers on the control panel (which is the 1st floor) were all deteriorated with also causing a System Trouble on the panel saying that the fire alarm speakers are not working.
When the fire department were resetting the system they always check to see if everything's all good on the wiring and on the panel to fix any lose or deteriorated wires and fix any system Troubles that are related to the panel so the system is up to code. After they fixed all deteriorated wires and system Troubles then they will tell the hotel to schedule a test date to see if all fire alarm devices and the system is working correctly.
At 11:11 The strobe on the SpectrAlert Advance speaker strobe isn't working because the wires to the strobe are loose or the strobe is burnt out. If it is burnt out the speaker strobe will get replaced with a System Sensor L-Series Speaker Strobe or SPSRL. If there was a Trouble on the panel that the strobe wires were loose then the hotel would get a technician to look at it because the fire department only fix system Troubles at the panel by making sure the wires at the panel are all connected and In good condition. If there wasn't a Trouble on the panel then the hotel would get a technician to replace it with the System Sensor L-Series Speaker Strobe or SPSRL.
So all of the speakers on the 1st floor are all working again after the fire department fixed the deteriorated wires with the System Trouble relating to the broken speakers all-gone with the technicians that fixed the strobe on the 2nd floor stairwell and made it work again with the current device or replacing it with the System Trouble relating to the broken strobe all-gone, and the hotel has tested their system.
But that was sure is a lot of code violations for those non-working speakers on the 1st floor and the non-working strobe on the 2nd floor stairwell.

Joey Caridi why was the dysfunctional speakers at 0:32 where deteriorated? And the dysfunctional strobe at 11:11 the wires from it were loose or the strobes burnt out? The hotel needs to get a technician to look at it because the fire department only fixes system troubles

@@ArisBuliteanu It's at the fire alarm control panel room from the Gamewell FCI S3 panel that has the 1st speaker zone circuits or speaker zones and the wires on the 1st speaker circuit (which Is the 1st floor were deteriorated). The System Trouble was caused because the panel was detecting no DC Supervision Voltage on the 1st speaker zone line.
The Trouble from the Dysfunctional Strobe was caused from the wires that connect the strobe were and the panel wasn't detecting the Supervision Voltage so that caused the system trouble.
The System Troubles on the Gamewell FCI S3 panel are caused from no Supervision Voltage being detected at the end of line (EOL) resistor to the panel.

@@aidanthetoiletelevatorfire7554 Replacing them won't fix the problem really. Technicians usually solve fire alarm problems via troubleshooting so in this case to troubleshoot the speakers on the 1st floor not sounding, they'll have to look at the speaker circuits on the amplifier and fix the 1st floor speaker circuits and check and test all the circuitry at the panel to further see whats causing this. After they fixed the problem all the speakers on the 1st floor will be working again and if some speakers don't work then it's a problem with the unit themselves and will get replaced to System Sensor SPSRL L-Series Speaker Strobes. The one in the stairwell that has a dysfunctional strobe should also get replaced to the L-Series Speaker Strobe as well
