Ever since I was a little kid, I've watched MANY videos of the elevators in this hotel and have dreamed of eventually making it to this hotel numerous times, and well, fast forward 13 years later, I've made it here!
The architecture in the lobby is absolutely gorgeous and the hotel appears to have been recently renovated since it was last filmed.
The Main Elevators were installed in 1928 when the hotel was originally built and modernized/automated in the 50s or 60s into Otis Black Button Elevators and then modernized again with Series M2 in 2008-2009. While some will argue these elevators look generic and I would generally agree with that, seeing these elevators and hearing the voice say the numbers for the floors hit me hard with nostalgia as I've seen videos of these for many years. Had this not been the case, I'd probably find these elevators pretty boring, but I did enjoy getting to see these, and these recently got new cabs too!
As for the Penthouse Elevator that was added in 1948 when the Hotel was expanded, I did not like much at all. The cab was mostly left original along with the doors, but the new fixtures and chimes are really generic and ugly in comparison to the Original Black Button fixtures that used to be here until 2017. Definitely not a fan of this mod and I'm really tired of all of these classic elevators in Canada getting slapped with this Dewhurst crap, but at the exact same time, I am glad this didn't get a full replacement by KONE with a totally new cab.
With this all being said however, I hope you enoy the video, featuring me finally getting to visit some elevators I've seen videos of for MANY YEARS!!!
Installed in 1928 (Main Elevators, Otis Fensom Manually Controlled) and 1948 (Penthouse Elevator, Otis Black Button)
    Modernized:
1st Modernization: Circa 1950s or 1960s (Main Elevators, Otis with Black Button fixtures, new cabs, new motors, new controllers, etc.) and 2017 (Penthouse Elevator, Generic Modernization with Dewhurst US91EN Fixtures, New Motor, New Lantern and New Controller. Cabs and doors left as is.)
2nd Modernization: 2008-2009 (Main Elevators, Otis Series M2 Gen2 or Elevonic 411M Mod with New Motors, New Lanterns, New Controllers and New Cabs. Doors and door track left original.)

Sucks that the penthouse elevator was modded. If it ever gets modded again, I hope it will be a nicer one than this.

The main elevators are nice. The mod on the penthouse elevator is so ugly. I remember when Jim went there and he was very displeased when he saw it.

The penthouse elevator is yuck. Typical Canadian mod.
