  • Lots to talk about today ... wildflowers galore, dive-bombing skylarks and peek inside Britain's native flytrap - the Arum lily (aka Cuckoo pint, Lords and Ladies etc.).
There's also a short cheeky promo for WE'D LIKE A WORD, a podcast about writing that's co-hosted by myself and m'chum Paul Waters. We've recorded over 60 episodes - mostly in the studio but some at live events - and our guests have included Frederick Forsyth, Julia Donaldson, Graham Norton, Denise Mina, Robert Thorogood, Tony Kent, Belinda Bauer, Will Dean, Tina Baker, Felix Francis, Anthony Horowitz ... and many more. There's even been a word or two from Michael Douglas. Yes, THAT Michael Douglas. So if you like reading, give us a listen - we're available on most podcast platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and more.
    Toodle-pip!

I'm always so appreciative of your natural wisdoms. The stream of consciousness monologue style is wonderful for understanding how your mind works while on these walks. And it's lovely to hear the colloquial names you call the plants🌱

Harris needed to refill his tank from the puddle to be able to pee on every leaf 😂

They got leaves and flowers and fruits out oversea?! We barely got green grass here!
I guess it always greener elsewhere...

Thankfully you weren't plagued by helicopters today.

They're always there ... lurking and rotating spitefully

The only reason that walk was so luscious is that Harris water’s it regularly

The funny colored blue bells are Lilly of the valley. Extremely toxic (even to humans) and would definitely be the end of a pet that small.

Not in this instance - I know Lily of the Valley very well (it's the emblem flower of my home town) and, yes, very toxic. But these are white bluebells.

    What do primroses taste like?

The flowers taste a bit like lettuce. More a garnish than a meal to be honest!

I wonder how much of your audience overlaps with Atomic Shrimp's. The content feels very like-minded
