- More than a decade ago, the Buddhist group Bliss and Wisdom moved its headquarters from Taiwan to Canada’s Prince Edward Island; thousands of monks, nuns, monastic students and their families have immigrated to PEI. However, local residents find their aggressive land-grabbing and lack of transparency troubling. Yet, the island’s political establishment vouched for the group. Security experts, say immigration fraud has made Canada one of the pre-eminent national security concerns for the U.S.. How does the story of a Buddhist group in Canada's smallest province highlight the most alarming geopolitical threat of our time?

The ridiculous levels of immigration to PEI is putting Islanders out on the streets. The people who were here are becoming a minority. Property prices and rents have doubled to tripled meanwhile wages have been suppressed. Most of the career politicians or their benefactors are on the take, and have figured out how to extract money from the government and foreign investors for their investment companies or numbered companies. They have figured out how to take advantage of the immigration programs they have themselves created to take advantage of them.
I live in New-Brunswick, very close to PEI and though I did know about a group of buddhist nuns, I didn’t know the extent of this “situation”. Lei, you are a wonder! Thank you for making us aware of this. I hope our provincial and federal governments will take action soon!
Another mass case are the Khalistanis: they want their own country. Not in huge Pakistani Punjab but is small Indian Punjab. Politics mixed with religion exported to naive shores like Canada's BC and Toronto. Sleep well.

Never knew Canada has a giant Buddhist empire in PEI. Crazy stuff.
FYI, Shaolin Temple in China had been turned into a CCP revenue franchise and propaganda business empire.
And last week with the situation with India-Canada, we find out about another large population of Kalistanis that l have never heard about. Listening to Indian news they describe Canada as harboring all types of people who may want to “hide”, basically security risks. They say Canada is lax on their security and political environment as a whole. Inferring that they let down their guard because of their relationship with and location near the US.
The best defense against communist authoritarian dictatorship is to strengthen democracies from corrupting influences and nepotism. It takes an active and concerted effort of the people, to ensure that our democratically elected politicians are truly representing our interests.
We must also address what hostile communist countries are doing, both domestically and abroad. Democratic Nations must stand together against their lawlessness in defense of global security, human rights, and enforce International Law.
Pretty naive to think that democracy exists in a world of super donors = oligarchies, systematic disinformation & psychological warfare against the own citizens via media monopoIies, lack of diversity of the political landscape (2 parties = joke), gerrymandering, lobbyism = institutionalized / white washed corruption, stripping citizens of their voting rights, restricted access to quality education, consumerism = intentionally rising private debts to create dependencies, blackmailing allies with trade wars, intervening into foreign democratic elections, stealing foreign natural resources, industry espionage, fueling conflicts globally to sell protection...etc.
How many of these monks and nuns are genuine Buddhists?

Canada immigration system is a mess. It’s obsess with bringing extreme diversity to a point that Canada is turning into mini countries within a country, where each ethnic groups stick together and dissociate themselves from the rest of the population. For example, If you go to any Chinatown, some people never have to use a single word outside Mandarin or Cantonese in their entire life. They work for Chinese, buy from Chinese and live with Chinese landlords or bought homes next to Chinatown from, guess what, previous Chinese owners.
I can speak Chinese (mandarin), and they know how to fool the governments in order to hide their wealth (either in China or elsewhere) to pay less tax but to also enjoy social programs. They even have WeChat groups to discuss various tactics to fool the federal and provincial governments. Oh, and the CCP is well aware and involved in these schemes.

This is indeed troubling, and no doubt a security concern for both Canada and the US.
It’s not within a couple of orders of magnitude of what’s happening on the US southern border though. Current illegal border crossings there are peaking at more than 10,000 *per day* 😮
US intelligence has finally warned of Chinese agents entering that way. I’d love to see you do a piece on what China might be doing with a completely open border of one of their chief adversaries.

Canada's internal security measures are very weak.
Even though Canada's Security agency can update the PM's office about CCP threats through immigration, it seems that Canada is weak in passing laws to curb this.
Rumored one of the main reasons Canada was not invited to participate in AUKUS is due to the security concerns that the US sees in the current government of Trudeau.

I pity Canadian citizens for the worst political setup they have. The anti west interest groups are so strong that their political leadership has no choice but support these fringe elements. This unfortunate reality will continue till CCP is destroyed.
Now, I am not personally extremely anti-immigration nor am I that much pro-assimilation. What I am against, and strongly, is when immigration becomes a speculative activity and against people using immigration services to conduct criminal and harmful buisness that are detremental to the local economy. Also, immigration should serve the accepting country, that is not to say immigrants must be exploited, but immigration rates should never be above what is necessary to serve the bare economic needs of the country, and not in competition with the local population.
Also, at too high rates, immigration destroys any benefit it can have.
Canadian bureaucracy is hell, and thus, on principal, I have no issues if companies offer services to make it more understandable, and helps people understand the proceedures. However, it has to be an honest buisness, a service for money. It needs to be transparent.

I am an English-speaker, and not all of us are familiar with USD, at least not in terms of value per dollar.
Assuming Lei data, information and Intel collections are correct & accurate, Lei is likely to be funded by some 'opposing & renegade' countries or parties. Between the two competing sides, who's to decide who's good & the other's bad.
That aside, I enjoy her programmes but I draw no conclusion

Meanwhile yt people are not even allowed to live in most villages in rural China (even if married to a Chinese) or stay in a hotel let alone own property or a business.
