It's kind of brilliant to design a game around speedruns, so every time someone breaks a level, you have that tiny voice in the back of your head wondering if you're still just dancing in the developer's palm.
This is so fascinating to see! As opposed to most other games showcased here, this one is MADE for speedrunning and you can see that in the dev commentary. It's incredibly beautiful to see!
Yeah! And since EVERYBODY has to speedrun to play the game, you have a far greater understanding of the work it took to get these times.
Made for speedrunning but the devs have completely abandoned the speedrun community for a year now 😭

after being part of the speedrun community in the demo this is definitely my favorite devs react to speedrun episode
The laws of speedrunning:
If it has health, it can die.
If it has bomb jumps, it can optimize.
If it has devs, you can shock them.

There's probably lacking collisions on a few corners or pixels so yeah probably gonna break the game to under 10minutes

I’ve played the game, went to their show organized by a friend, had hell of fun, discovered way after they were the same guys lol

the book of life levels were so fun to watch, their attitude when somebody teleports through solid objects was genuinely so funny to watch.
They’re so much fun to play, too. Not only are they hilariously OP, but they’re very forgiving of mistakes too.
just watching the speedrun feels so well, like a calm visual asmr where all pieces go in the right spot and is very cool to hear the devs opinate
Easily a top 10 favorite game of mine. Perfect fit for casual speedrunning and very engaging gameplay and the soundtrack makes it such a vibe. Hope they make the leaderboard more navigable.
"Aim for the heavens!" the sondtrack is such a banger.
so cool how every level from a game designed to make you speed through it sticks perfectly in your memory
got an ace rank on every level and 100%d the collectibles, had no clue destroying bullets gave you a boost…
time to go for all dev time medals, or really strong individual level times! :p

That would place it in my top 3 games of all time if they would do that.
loving this game so far (with the exception of estate....) cool idea idea might dlc where you play as the other colored neons with their own unique weapons.... could be cool to have character leader boards and such
devs who actually play their games just make me so happy.

Getting author medals for every one of the maps became insanely difficult. Was having to get into top 2500 on leader boards for them. Love the game though!

This is the Level Rush mode, which is just the levels back to back with none of the in-between stuff. It's unlocked after completing the game and has its own leaderboards.
