Great video. I'm going to install a single din Alpine in my 2002 Suburban. I'm also replacing the front and rear door speakers with 2-way infinity replacements. Are there any issues or things to look out for with door speaker installations? Thank you in advance. Ed.
I have a 2000 Yukon SLT can't get the factory amp to turn I tried looking everywhere online to figure out which wire it is 😠 I just can't get that damn amp to turn on what color was it? do you know?
Come on fella. What about the factory amp. We need to see if the door speakers are working from the new radio or from the factory amp. Factory amp takes 80 percent of the bass out of the front speakers.
Question. I have the same vehicle. Once I replaced the radio, the speedometer stopped working. Did you do anything with the dark green/white wire? That's the vss wire.

The rem cable is what turns the Amp on when the stereo is on. Either the rem cord is bad, the Amp is bad, or the stereo is bad. For installing audio on my friends car we replaced all the cords with a new Amp, sub, and still didn't work. We then replaced the stereo and that worked.
Hello, thanks for the video. Can you tell me more on the pink wire? I just installed an aftermarket radio with the same harness but now Yukon dont start. I put the stock radio back and it starts. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks
There is an orange wire with a silver stripe that is the security wire. Make sure it is not grounded or connected to anything because it trips the security system and will not allow it to start
ok so with most on star cars there is no automatic shut off when you turn the keys off if you want to do that you would actually have to hook up the triggered wire i think its red to an accessory wire so it turns off but there is none with most onstar capable vehicles so you could run a wire from the actual ignition switch so that you have that luxury other than that just turn the stereo off manually.
My sububern has extra plugins for the back seat headset and the a cassette player below the radio that's wired in what wires are they and where do I wire them into the after market player?
Am currently trying to figure out what the difference between metra 70-1859 vs metra 70-1858 I have the 1858 but it says I need the 1859 harness for premium sound no Bose my problem is I have no sound from my stock sub in the back I replaced with new pioneer still no sound
Hence I figure the pink wire is going to fix my problem but the pink wire that comes in second plug that comes with 70-1859 I don’t know where that plugs in there’s only one other plug and I’m under the assumption that it’s for tape player.

Do you know what would curse stereo static? 9.25 is a hip-hop r&b station and every car I've been in it's always come through crystal clear but when I try to play the station it's really staticy and annoying
I’m assuming the pink wire is the cause to many ppls problems to no sound? I have a Chevy Tahoe 2001 and I’ve been thinking about adding a aftermarket headunit, so I’ve been searching around the web for a proper way to install, so I’m assuming if anyone is having a no sound problem it’s cuz of the pink wire , i heard you can either connect the pink wire to the remote wire on the headunit or bypass the amp itself , but correct me if I’m wrong , I’m trying to do this properly before I install
I installed a stereo and it would play for a few seconds then cut out. I returned it thinking it was the stereo but did I just need to connect the pink wire?
@@kentschuyleman7127 there is a way to bypass the factory amp and if ur Savvy enough and have the money it is the way to go... I just don't have that cash for it, even though it's cheap on eBay or Amazon.

GM didn't make your life hard, GM made you a (on) STAR.
Thanks for this video. It was super helpful and I liked the commentary.
Mr.ManDudeGuy ... That's what I was looking for, he didn't really say how but now I know. Thanx Mad Modz ! Very useful. (Y)

You didn’t clearly show how you put that pink wire with the harness. It was the most useful piece of information your skipped

How did you get to the short harness when you can't pull old stereo out. I have same problem. Do I take apart the entire dash?

The remote start cable is usually blue and is required to start your Amp.

You need to use a wiring diagram and hook it up correctly.
My 2000 Suburban stock radio is only playing AM. FM is very faint to no volume at all. Is this a wiring issue or after 22 years, the radio is bad?
Don you have the parts name for the aftermarket harness
How did the power wires connect? Mine wont shut off with the key off so I'm assuming I have the constant power wire connected somehow.

You need a wiring diagram.
After connecting ping and blue do you plung the harness to the thing you unplugged it from
Since he spliced the wires together I would think you could hook it back up.
What’s the dash kit info
What is the connection on the left for? (The one that was all the way in the back)
It's for the lower tape player deck I believe. The tape player is down below the 12 power sockets, closer to the cup holders
