Film Disription: In a mysterious universe, the Green Lantern Corps, an elite defense force of peace and justice have existed for centuries. I always appreciated how, when the Lanterns fly off, they just go. They don't push off or "Up, up, and away" or anything. It's just as natural as walking.

Ryan Reynolds often jokes and apologizes about this movie and how bad it was. He met his wife while working on this movie. I feel there's a lesson there.
The lesson is make the best with what u got. Bad movie and writing, great people he met for instance, Blake Lively.

It's called the deer in the headlights effect it actually hypnotize you to not move so you can accept your death. It's the same thing that happened with somebody pull a gun on you you know they mean business and you have no choice to try none of that fancy Kung Fu s*** better get the bullets pump in a lot faster next thing you know you're shocked wondering why the f******? It don't work like that in real life trust me I know. That being said Green Lantern just didn't work out for Ryan Reynolds

70% of Green Lantern is actually good. Race track was for all the Hot Wheels fans, a reflection of Hal Jordan's childhood. Fun!

This is the only dumb scene. The rest is fine.
I've seen a lot of people complain about him making an entire Hot Wheels track rather than just stopping the helicopter, but I think it was better for him to do the Hot Wheels thing because the helicopter's momentum would have probably pushed his construct back (and hit him and Carol), but the track helped the helicopter stop more smoothly. Plus, it was also possible for the helicopter to get crushed if it crashed into his construct.
That's one of the few things that i still enjoy in this movie
Hal of all people would absolutely know that you can't just bring something that's moving fast to a dead stop. Under pressure, the track and car was a genius idea, though he could have stopped it sooner (But love the scene so I don't really care).

People complaining that this is ridiculous, it was done to show how Hal was still goofy and desperate and could focus all that great yet.

Waititi puts TOO MUCH comedy in his super hero movies in my opinion. Ragnarok was such a joke. To me, It would have been a good movie if I wasnt supposed to be watching Thor’s most serious story line. Would’ve been a good slap jaw comedy though

Bad writing and a disregard for the source material is mostly what prevented this movie from being successful. A shame, since Ryan Reynolds does a good job with the acting and the visual effects were good for the time.
The visual effects were not good, the whole point of the was how the cgi shit flopped. Reynolds was the only saving grace of this film. But I still wasn’t the best.
Luc Germain Visuals were never great, if you’re involved in filmmaking you would understand. I’m a student in film production and I can tell you that that isn’t Hollywood standard cgi.
Luc Germain I would’ve first off implemented the mask to be fixed. The detail is completely gone from the eyes and mask, making it look like someone has just carelessly animated his face, even Reynolds made the joke himself about his GL in the first Deadpool. Also, you’re asking me what I’ve been involved in? I worked on a project for the red arrows with Aston Martin with my boss, I edited the whole film. It was a sponsorship event which had the red arrows go out on a professional Go Kart track and do a couple races. I put together a small compilation of the clips, applied music and colour graded it.
P.S I never said my opinion was superior in any way, I just pointed out that this is my future profession so I know what I’m talking about.
Luc Germain It wasn’t solid at all, you can’t watch a film like endgame and then come to this and think the same thing. Perhaps your standards are just lower or something but the cgi wasn’t good and that’s a fact. You can have your opinion thinking it was good but from a movie standpoint it wasn’t and that’s not just my opinion, it’s the critics opinion, and not the “everyday random critics you get on the internet”. I’m on about professional critiques who say this movie had much more potential than it showed out to be.

It kind of feels like he should’ve acted a little sooner, the fact that apparently nobody was gruesomely crushed under that helicopter was pretty lucky.

Bro, I'm so with you. I know it's an unpopular opinion and it had bad ratings but I genuinely loved the movie. The movie also generated my biggest celebrity crush in Blake lively
The only thing wrong with this movie is that it was too short. They needed to give the characters a bit more backstory. It needed about 40 more minutes.

I never understood that, myself. I love the movie. I guess all the negative reviews were why there was never a sequel, which really sucks, because that scene at the end, where Sinestro puts on the yellow power ring would have been perfect for a sequel. We could have seen Sinestro begin his quest to destroy the Guardians and the entire Corps. Who knows when we'll get another live-action Green Lantern movie, if ever.

I always thought one of the coolest things about the Hal was his imagination. A creative imagination offers infinite possibilities for what you can create and what can be achieved through the ring. Without imagination, possibilities are limited and bland. Also, more importantly, sudden blunt stoppage can kill. Deceleration works better.

He needed to avoid whiplash, which would have happened if he just stopped the chopper instead of slowing it down, and he needed the elevated racetrack to make sure it doesn't run over his wife. As silly as it looks, it's a pretty smart idea.
