Film Disription: In a mysterious universe, the Green Lantern Corps, an elite defense force of peace and justice have existed for centuries. I always liked how creative a Green Lantern has to be under pressure, and how their constructs are usually a reflection of where they come from.
When I first seen this movie, Parallax scared the living out of me.

@@gabbar51ngh Parallax could’ve easily worked if they went for a tv show instead, set up Parallax as the big bad over the course of a season with Sinestro slowly becoming drawn to the yellow light of fear and becoming the leader of the Sinestro Corps by the end. 10 hour and a bit episodes
Parallax is still disturbing especially what happened to the alien lives he took, like go look at them very closely when he first speaks to Hal and you can see they try to reach out and escape to no avail.

They way Green Lantern is done in this film is like a mix of all the earth Green Lanterns
He has Hal Jordan's origin but Guy Gardner's personality,plus the fight scenes seem to feel like they capture Kyle Rayners imagination.

I think green lantern could make a great live action movie. If it had the right person directing it and the right people to star in it then it could be great. There’s potential here, green lantern needs another shot at making it to the big screen.

It's kind of funny that I was scared to death of this movie when this monster cloud came down onto the city and took the soul out of everybody especially that one scene where the woman is running and her soul is taken out of her body that one really missed me up XD
I like it how in every fictional movie when ever something is in the sky, everyone stops, to look at it, even stops there cars, just run for your fucken life
Both curiosity and an overwhelming sense of fear would put everyone in a state of shock, hence everyone stopping to stare.

You know this movie may have sucked bad but 3:30 is actually pretty dark imagine seeing all those innocent lives corpse kinda like Hectors at 0:56 after Parallax left to go after Hal in space

@@samkresil6011 what is even darker is the fact that loved ones will never be able to see there bodies, their souls and bodies were destroyed the second Parallax absorbed them plus the survivors are going to question there existence in the universe as well.
Even if the bodies were found no one will be able to tell who's who.

@@Forsoothious What I also managed to find disturbing is that Parallax appears to have monster faces 0:06 and even skeletal corpses flailing about his body, even at 0:06 when Parallax crashes into the hanger. There are even some corpses hands reaching out of Parallax while he's sucking out Hector's soul at 0:45. But even more so, you can see the skeletons in his body sucking out the souls of the people in the crowd as he sweeps over them at 3:36 and 3:39.
I thinks its so that they start to become visible whenever Parallax gets bigger but he had apparently taken more lives while in space and even killed four members of the Green Lantern Corps. I also think that Parallax is mostly a living embodiment of death rather than just fear, aside from the fact that he feeds off of it also.
Where is the whole Justice League during this.
I`m imagining this in the DCEU
I mostly put this to save the Green Lantern Corps film coming out 3 years later.

Ryan Reynolds might not be the ideal actor for the role of Hal Jordan, but the music and special effects really slaps. Plus Carol was beautiful to look at ;).

The pacing can get slow, and the stuff on earth is not very interesting.
The lantern members also felt underdeveloped, and Paralax was a weak villain.

@@RB01.10 True, the lantern did not appear to fight parralax in the later part of the movie, and parralax was supposed to be a universe level threat. I didn't find the pacing slow for some reason (maybe because I like slow movies lol). But other than those, I enjoyed the fight between Hal and Parrallax, even though Parrallax got slapped like a bitch in the end.
I like the concept of this movie. While flawed it’s still enjoyable, 6.5/10
Honestly everything else about this movie aside. Parallax‘s Design Is creepy as hell and the scene where starts absorbing people is disturbing seeing all those bodies moaning and shifting inside him. The slow music. Creepy.
It's funny how, when the Evil Guy gets his Skeleton Sucked out, you can see that his Skull Had Grown as well as his Head during the whole Mutation thing.

Say what you will about the failings of this movie, but that is one HELL of a monster design for this version of Parallax. Absolutely beautiful CGI work.

If you have noticed, The guy's mutated head from exposure of parallax's power which he got from Abin-Sur's corpes, is resembling that of a guardians and parallax was one of the guardians.

Ryan Reynolds, who played the protagonist, famously hated the movie. He has admitted to having a poor working relationship with director Martin Campbell and was glad to see the film perform poorly critically and financially, as he did not wish to reprise his role as the Green Lantern. In his later movie Deadpool (2016), he references the Green Lantern in a negative way when he requests a suit that is neither green nor animated while being rolled into the medical room on a gurney; in the sequel Deadpool 2 (2018), he goes back into time, preventing himself from ever taking the Green Lantern role.

Parallax being the first villian ruins the storyline of the comics. Especially considering it's Hal Jordan that turns into parallax in the comics. Happy Jordan is parallax but he's fighting him, what? It makes no sense. This movie is a disgrace to what is a great comic series. I can't believe this garbage is called a "Green Lantern" movie.
