This was my unluckiest day in Pokemon Go. I only got 1 shiny out of research, that being Taillow. I also found a wild shiny Pidgey, but it ran away. Broke out first try from a golden razz and ultra ball. A Pidgey of all things....and the one time it was shiny

Literally played the whole event 2-5 with the .99c paid ticket, probably caught 200+ birds and found 4 total shinies.

I spent the .99 cents and went HARD! With research not ONE SHINY!! I just started playing again from quoting back in 2016. I was excited for this event and it was a total JOKE!!
Pisses me off I don’t even wanna log into the game! I had to have opened 60 research tasks NOTHING NOT EVEN A REG HUNDO!! BS and watching these videos of everyone opening field research with shinys MAKES ME SO MAD!!!!! Wasted my whole day for nothing screw this game

Research says are my favorite events. I had some errands to run so I just drove around my area, did maybe 40-50 tasks, and got 8 shiny. Much more likely to get me out and playing than hatch days, which I completely ignore.

I got a shadow hundo Suicune today. Do you know when the next event is that allows it to forget frustration so I can actually use it?
Ended up with 17 Shines (14 research, 3 wild) out of roughly 150 research tasks so really good day, only thing I missed was I didn't get a shiny Hoothoot which I need to complete the family but oh well solid day.
I just got back again from 2016. started 3 months ago and by far except community day and highlight hour this is one of the best event I've seen so far. the research mission are easy and if there's hard ones I just remove them cause the reward encounters are all the same just RNG on which bird you will encounter and the shiny rate for them is amazing. hope they make more of this kind of event
I got 2 shiny birds from the research, none were the Rufflet that I picked to get the most encounters with. Happy for the candy, but kinda crap overall
I loved this research day. I was only missing the shiny taillow from the research shinys, and I even found a wild shiny sandshrew and extra shiny hoothoot during the event.
The only thing stopping me was the amount of pokestops I could spin to get researches where I am

I walked around my apartment complex for about an hour and got 7 shinies. I did pay $1 for the special research since I really wanted a shiny hoothoot, since hoothoot is one of my favorite Pokémon, and I ended up getting 3 of them and 1 hundo hoothoot. The only shiny I didn't get was taillow, which was a bit of a bummer, but it was still a great day for me overall.
I played for 2.5 hours and found 10 shinies; two random in the wild (Slowpoke & Wingull) and 3 Doduo, 2 Tallow, and 2 Hoothoot. I did not counted the number of field researches but it was probably arround 75. Hoothoot and Doduo were newfor me, very happy!!

My shinies from research were 3 Spearows, Tailow, Hoot hoot and Ruflet i also got wild shiny Wingul, Pidove and Duskul

I only was able to play for 45 minutes. Wound up with 5 shinies (3 Rufflet, 2 Spearow). Would have liked more diversity, but can't complain about 3 Rufflet!
Completed 8 field researches from this event and all the checks from the ticket as well. Got shiny Spearow, Doduo, and Hoothoot from field researches and one of the eleven checks from the second page of the ticketed research was shiny (chose Rufflet).
If you purified the Suicune before powering it up, you would have saved a bunch of candy and stardust

I got busy with the day and literally almost forgot about this event going on but thankfully I remembered/realized that with a little less than 20 minutes left of it to play lol. So I quick hopped in my car and started trying my hardest to speed run getting at least those 10 field research tasks done so I could complete the ticket research I paid for and with about 30 seconds to spare, before it hit 5 pm, I managed to complete it 😮💨 And in that whole process I managed to snag 2 shiny hoothoots, a shiny taillow, and 2 shiny doduos which I had been shiny checking/searching for before this event for what seemed like centuries lol. So I was very happy that I got those and pretty happy with this event overall. If I had been able to play the whole 3 hours I probably could’ve gotten some more shinies, but I’ll definitely take what I got regardless bc it sure beats not having any if I had missed it completely 😅
I got 9 shinies from this event, including 96 and 98 IVs for shiny Hoothoot, as well as for shiny Doduo. Also got a hundo Spearow (not shiny). Personally, I thought I was grinding this event pretty hard, as downtown Toronto has a ton of stops, and I completed about 140 research tasks. It boggles my mind to hear that Fleeceking got something like 20 shinies.

Two perfects. A Rufflet and a Hoothoot.
FYI, When battling the trainers it counts as a super effective move even if they use their shield. I used to think I had to do 3 to get past their 2 shields.

Well, I got zero shinys from that day, but I spent the afternoon at a brewery with my wife and daughter. We had a great time, and I think I have cured my Pokemon Go FOMO.
I caught a shiny Fletchling in the wild during the research day!
Mystic I used my hundo Suicune (not shadow) in the great league and it did me wonders before I started using Origin Palkia

I did pretty well. 3 Shiny Hoothoot, Shiny Taillow, 2 Shiny Spearow, Hundo Rufflet (not shiny, unfortunately), 2 Shiny Dodou (I already had one from a wild encounter), Wild Shiny Fletchling, a pretty good Tapu Fini from a raid, and finally a Shiny Rufflet, just as I was giving up hope. (Not hundo, unfortunately). I was having a coffee after the event, and caught 2 back-to-back Shiny Onix.
I caught 6 shinies on Saturday. 4 were the birds, I chose Rufflet as my path. Not too shabby☺️
found 6 shinies for this research day. i really only needed one more shiny spearow and a hoothoot. almost dropped my phone when i found out that the only shiny spearow i caught was a shundo.
I managed to get 9 shinies total and an UNBELIEVABLE shundo tailow and shundo doduo! TWO separate hundo doduos from research. Also a wild hundo eevee and hatched a hundo lickitung! It was the best day I’ve ever had in Pokémon go since 2016. Still can’t believe it, I never have luck like that.

1 shiny which was a Taillow. A shiny I already had. Really wanted the shiny Rufflet but for all the stops I spun I only encountered 2 which sadly didn't shine. Disappointing overall, but I enjoy these kinds of tasks more than a com day

I played the full 2-5 and I saw like 40% of my spawns as birds. I got 1 shiny. But on the previous day I got 4 shinys in about 5 hours.. used all my luck there haha

I am super pissed. My car broke down just as I was heading out the door for this event. My bike was broken so I couldn’t take that and I live in the middle of nowhere so it’s at least a 30 minute drive to get anywhere.

I was able to get 11 shinys altogether. I got 3 Spearows, 2 Rufflets, 2 Doduos, 1 Hoothoot, 1 Fletchling, and I special traded one of my shiny Vaporeons, for a shiny Poliwag since I missed that community day.
Got 3 all new to me shinies. Hoothoot, Spearow and the only I wanted the most Doduo
there wasnt enoguh poestops around for me i live in a super small area with only around 10 stops around me and only 1 task gave me a shiny which i guess wasnt bad since it was my first one i did

I was super late this time around to the research day, didn't get to my local park with even an hour left. In about 30 minutes walking, I completed the payed ticket, Got a Hundo Rufflet, and 2 shiny Doduo.
Played 2 and a bit hours (paused for coffee which limited us for a half hour or so) and then did some shopping from 4.30. I got 6 shiny one of each with 2 Taillow and one Hundo non shiny hoothoot.
I only got 4 shiny. I played three hours and got all possible research around. But I got the Spearow that I needed for the shiny dex.
