So jealous you got to go back out there

Hi mystic
Hi mystic
I played Pokémon go for only 1 month the first month it came out in 2016. I planned a trip to Japan for 28 days this past February. I decided to start playing again just before heading out. I played like crazy in Japan. Crazy raids, crazy amount of gyms and poke stops. I just came back to Canada. I feel so spoiled now playing in Tokyo. Now I’m struggling to play here
You just gotta walk around when it's nice out just not much of a community out here depending on where you are
Trust me anywheres better than where I am. I. In the country where have to drive to places just for only 4 or 5 gyms about 20 minute drive but can't get to them and no one plays out here so can't Raid or get good pokemon spawns
i started playin after i got back lol
That's what sucks about these games where its so dependent on "local" elements compared to the official pokemon games. I live in an area too where there is maybe only a dozen pokestops in like 10 miles of me and no one really plays. If you want people to feel bad about where they live or happened to be born or of their poor living situation because they can't travel, you make a game exactly like this@@talonmason4243
Hard in canada
I just love your travel videos. The camera work, the music, the commentary. The hyperkinetic stuff on some other channels just isn’t my cup of tea. Thanks for what you do, Nick!
His style really is great, I can't watch the others in the same way unfortunately. We get to slowly take in the surroundings too. Like how? Unless its a longer video when he's captured soo much and the cuts between are just faster. I think I need to revisit some videos now
So glad you got to go back to Tokyo again. It feels like old trainertips vids. I miss it so much. I follow Tokyo streamers/youtubers so I get to see Japan way more often now. I hope to some day travel and live freely, to play where ever I want in the world. Tokyo will be top of my list for sure.
Any favorite creators you want to highlight/share? I’m trying to find some new ones 😎
Oh, how nice to see you in Japan again! I wanted to go there too this autumn, but the Covid situation was still so unsure until recently, so I went somewhere else since I needed a timeout anyways. I hope I can go next year though. I miss this beautiful country. I found Bangkok and Hongkong not too bad, but nothing beats Tokyo I guess :)
Absolutely love how calm you are and your videos, many pokemon go players are so loud, its very calming almost like watching a vlog. :]
Yo belated happy birthday Nick!! I did NOT expect a trip to Japan what a pleasant SAPURAISU!!! Its just like old times man you're constantly on the move from city to city, just adventuring(in this case revisiting), eating and even shopping?! Like the Niantic or even Game Freak intended. Just fully immersed in the city. Love it!
Honestly if not Japan anywhere in SEA region city center. It's dense and pack with pokestops and sponsors stops as well. The only downside is we don't always get good exclusive events like the US does
it does and often. Usually through Yoshinoya, Eto En and Tullys coffee.
Visited Tokyo for the first time last month, absolutely loved Japan. It’s such a magical place, in fact it got me playing PoGO again.
Cheers for the video Nick, particularly loved the Mew quest you did a few years back 🤙
hi tiametmarkduk1
F1 and pogo-a match made in heaven
I want to go to Tokyo so bad
Same
Imagine not going to Tokyo after20days

This video was freaking good dude, love the way the new lens looks!
I was in Tokyo when the Regis were first released.
I walked off my train in Akihabara and the amount of people playing Pokémon Go was insane. I imagine it’s much the same now. I can’t wait to go back!
If you want insane - when you get so many players the internet stops, that is just normal. Taking 30 minutes to get into a raid - that can be just normal for a non-popular spot. Yes, I waited, eventually got to the raid once people moved to other spots..
Such a relaxing video. Thank you for sharing! 😍✨
Love this vlog style video!! Super fun to come along with you for the day!
Japan is my second home. I miss it and can't wait to go back for a visit. Last time I was there was during the Regigigas event in 2019 so that's the geotag on mine.
Great new lens! Loved the beautiful trees and the music in the garden! TY for the video!
Seriously, you seem like an awesome person to travel with! Enjoy your content so much!
First thing - where is your “Show Up” shirt from? Need that!
Second thing - recently came across your channel and so glad I did. Watched your video where you went to Grenada and I love and admire your travel outlook.
Excited to check out more of your vids
I think NYC is similar to Tokyo.....raid lobbies are always full gyms and pikestops everywhere.....anytime I want to grind raids and not worry about invites.....I go to NYC
YUP! Can attest to that. Any raid I join in the city always fills up and there's no end to the PokeStops
Wish this was true...I live in New York n have yet too see a almost full lobby
Nice video. I used to watch you daily a few years back, now I check in every once in a while. Really like the way your editing style has changed and improved over the years. Really enjoy watching these videos.
This got me so hyped for my upcoming Japan trip! You did forget to get your Kabuki trim Furfrou (its on my list!)
Here I go, continuing my journey to catch up with your videos!!
I love when you’re in Japan! Thanks for the video!
I've been following this trainer since 2016 while I was in Japan thanks for sharing Trainer Nick ^^
Very cool video, Nick! I really enjoyed playing in Chicago during the Go Fest when it was city wide and I’ve been back since to play - very fun!
Oh my gosh just seeing all those old pokemon games there brought me so much joy
Awesome that you remember where was any stop or gym from 3 years ago in Japan. Plus, 3rd time's the charm.Nice!
It's always fun shopping for new lenses. Most of my purchases are online but when you can get into a store to see and feel the weight of one it is nice.
I love your travel videos the food, locations, journey. It is my fav part of the video
Ahhh I can't wait till I have the chance to go again :) Such a wonderful city, glad you were able to visit again!
ありがとう!また来て下さい!
@@doseisan3848 またいつか行くつもりです!本当に楽しみですよ!^^
Beautiful photography!
Back in Tokyo 🎉 dope videos my dude 👍🏽🤙🏽
Great vid. Looking forward to going to Tokyo one day. Cheers!
Hello from Tokyo - where you play also makes a big difference. Some areas are friendly and have huge communities (where I live), others are more isolated, but still good grinding spots.
If I had not been playing (while working) in Kyoto, would have been great to be able to meet.
Great content. Thanks for letting us explore with you!
Love your travels video. Thanks for sharing.🎉
You gotta start taking us with you on these trips!
Can we talk about that guy failing at throwing a bagof trash in the back right at 3:34 ? 🤣
The reason why so many people can raid in person in Tokyo is because it's extremely walkable and has fast, easy public transportation, which we severely lack in the US. At least we're getting high speed rail in California though. (10+ years from now)
glad your doing well nick havent watched in a while hope youre good man
So good to see the travel vlogs back On the channel... always was my favorite content
Your Japan videos are always S tier videos! Theyre my favorite by far!
My mom's from Ishioka Japan, a super ghost-town like place in Ibaraki yet the raids still get pretty full in some areas
The scenery was beautiful as for the best city to play pokemon go I've only played in 3 cities where I live now, a small town where I used to live, and the only other place is close enough I can walk to so unfortunately I don't really have an opinion on it because I don't travel
I loved visiting Tokyo. However they only had ingress at the time and Pokémon go didn’t come out to the next year😢
can’t wait to visit again
i play games with small communities like ccgs, roguelites, puzzle games and whatever pogo is but honestly pogo creators make the best contents and get very little views for it. this was an awesome vid but deserves higher viewcount! thanks for making these!
Thank you for introducing Tokyo. I'm happy that you seemed to enjoy so called "Poke-katsu" (katsu means activities, so this word means Playing Pokemon Go) in Tokyo.
Love your videos! It brings some spirit to play and incentives! From all my video list I always chose yours 🥳 first to watch , Thank you! 🍹
this is perfect!!! Living where I do, in rural NH, it's difficult to find stops close to each other. When I get near the local college, Keene State, I can do well. But being disabled with limited. walking, what is fun is my husband will push me in the transport chair and I'll have fun cleaning up when the college is OUT for the year! :)
We’re going to Tokyo in March! Can’t wait for all the pokemon
Just discovered your channel. Love the content.
This video was so fun to watch. My son has been in Japan since 2019, we are finally going to visit and Tokyo is our first stop, with Kyoto, Osaka, and Okinawa visits as well. I'm super excited about the regional pokemon that I can bring back to my local friends.
I dont think my city will be close to this, but Prague is quite good as well, specially when using public transport, it doenst go that fast and it stops alot, you can make alot of KMs on eggs and catch alot. Walking is even better, stops and gyms everywhere really.
During the end of guzzlord raids in japan there was barely anyone raiding, yea it was rough at the end of guzzlord
Last year went 3 days to zaragoza in spain
Crazy there
Japan is on my bucket list.
My introverted self would like that raid culture though it is fun to bond here over pokemon sometimes.
Do those that wanna stay in the US, San Francisco and new York city are pretty cool too. Santa Monica in LA is closest to me and is really good for raid days and raid hours
your travel vids are the best
The name of the most delicious ramen shop in Kinshicho is Saichi. It's a rare oyster ramen. I always enjoy watching CZcams! Enjoy Tokyo!
vacationing here in the country right now. so so many spawns. raiding is enjoyably very convenient.
So dope that you're back in Japan!
The actual best place to play as far as I know is Zaragoza, a city in spain, yes it has a lot of spoofing but if you want to go you're going to have lures wherever you go and all the raids will be filled with people during the entire timer of the raid, it is bad if you want to take over gyms but if you are just visiting and have plenty of raid passes that would be disneyland for you xd
Buddy functionality idea:
What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the trainer were given the ability to improve the buddy’s IVs by 1? And let’s say the Km needed were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained. For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV improvement. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs.
Pros:
- This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon.
- Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex.
Cons:
- All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough
- Pvp players would need to make sure to avoid gaining hearts walking their buddy, or not apply the “bonding” IVs earned.
If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! Ideas welcomed and I’ll update the post accordingly.
Side note:
Could it be this is why Ash Ketchum’s Pikachu was so powerful? Because Ash built a string relationship with him?
Second side note: friend me so we can help each other to lvl50!

Really like the idea of encouraging more best buddy functionality, but so many people already game the walking system with auto walkers. Not sure if we want to encourage even more people to do that...
@@JosephBayot if someone is using an auto walker chances are they are just sniping 100IV pokemon anyways lol, it would defo encourage the right players who play legit
@@WindRegalia2 wait how? I thought it was different for everyone. Huh guess that’s why people ran to a hundo when Pokémon go was new
I think Niantic should introduce breeding into the game. It's in so many other pokemon games that I think it would just make sense. It would allow people to gain more of a certain pokemon, roll new IVs, and also roll lower CPs, if they want it to be low enough for the Great or Ultra Leagues. It would add functionality to the gender of your pokemon, and encourage players to catch at least one male and female version of each pokemon. Of course, this wouldn't apply to most legendaries, as they're mostly genderless, so I don't think it'd be OP. It would also explain where eggs come from, which are already in the game.
Terrible idea.
I hope you had a great thanksgiving yesterday
Wow! I would figure there’s a whole bunch of cities that meat that standard comes to best place to play Pokémon go… Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle, just the name a few… but that’s pretty good! ❤
But you CANT forget the smaller cities as well. People play everywhere. No matter if it's a big city or not. I live in small city and I have been playing for years. (New england side of USA)
Well, there is a similar density in term of poke stops in Manhattan. And most of them almost always have lure activated.
Planning my trip to Japan for late march... looks good
New York City is pretty good too. Can't wait to get to Tokyo one of these days.
Honolulu in Hawaii always has people raiding, you can go in a raid and couple seconds there will be 10 people.
I moved from rural Missouri to Oahu and my Pokemon Go experience changed completely. Such a better game with the city life.
Pokedex number 999 Gimmighoul evolve to Pokedex number 1000 Gholdengo hence these mysterious coins are highly suspected to be an evolution item for Gimmighoul to become Gholdengo.
LOVE this video and yes I'm very blessed to be living in Tokyo! Thanks for showing it to the world!
Just to clarify a little bit:
(1) all of the advantages you mentioned are true, but for raids if you are at a smaller non major station, there are very little people in raid lobbies unless you go in when the egg hatches.
(2) One disadvantage playing in Tokyo is it is very difficult to earn gold consistently by occupying gyms, unless for some people who have time and attention to put extra efforts in occupying gyms everyday, I have a long work schedule and don't have a group of friends close by who can fight gyms together, so I very rarely get to put a Pokemon in a gym on a regular day. Eventually end up buying gold, but it is my choice in play style and I am happy with it since the game give me so much fun times. For others, especially free to play players, will need to put extra effort in this area in order to get gold. ^^"
I’m going to Japan this summer and I was interested to see how Pokémon go is going to end up. Definitely even excited after seeing this 👀
Clean scene in the garden, walking up to the camera 📷
Shinjuku Station is very awesome place in tokyo to play pokemon go
Looks like a fun weekend 👍
I like your photos very much you're a pro photographer man and i loved all the photo's on your Instagram story, I believe they were from singapore safari zone trip 😃👍🏻
I visited Hong Kong at the start of January. That is another serious Pogo city.
Brillant public transport system, very safe and certainly walkable (if you don't mind slopes)
Caught my Sensui Oricorio on day 1.
Going to Japan soon. I'm so nervous but I know its going to be fun.
Love the video but I think you should see circular Quay in Sydney I personally think it is compatible to this.
Keep on doing what you do buddy, love from India 🇮🇳
ever since I saw this video a few months ago I wanted to catch a shiny Yanma & I finally had one spawn for me yesterday!!
5:18 as he leaves at the last second!
but great video
Forgot how peaceful yours videos are
A very good video. I have definitely missed these. Would love to go to Japan just to experience it for myself. Thank you Nick. 😀
Nice video Nick. Where is that hotel you are staying? Is it a convenient location?
Hawaii wasn’t pretty cool to poke hunt. There were quite a bit of poke gyms and a ton of poke stops in Honolulu and Waikiki
I was watching quietly until u showed that lens, "holy s***" i verbalized very loudly. Followed by instant laughter and smiles hahaha
This place looks absolutely incredible
have u been in zaragoza yet? its crazy lured near the ebro river. been there a while ago for bussiness and it was spectacular
All I can do is watch wistfully while you play in Tokyo because there are no large cities I can travel to in order to play. I live in a rural area and must travel 20 minutes in order to just spin a pokestop. Travel is not in my future at this time, but I can dream. 😁
i remember having a convenience store lunch in hamarikyu gardens 4 years ago :')
Japan is up there on my bucket list!
Too me. Japan is one of the biggest countries that display such “high tech” ways of doing things in Tokyo.
But on the flip side of that comment….
The rural areas are some of THE MOST beautiful and relaxing areas you could ever visit!
That diversity has me Driven too get out there! 🤞
That Balloonciaga pikachu aged well didn’t it lol 😂
Well i can tell you where its not the best place city to play... and thats where i live.. love the travel videos.. i get to see what its like to be in an area with actual pokestops
Where do you live that is not the best city to play
Japan is such a great country! Everything looks so nice!
We went there a few years back during a comm day and it was crazy. Soooooo many people were playing the phones wouldn't work properly.... it was nuts
Did you remember to change Furfrou to Kabuki form?
i have the exact same spitfire hoodie at around 45 seconds into the vid
I love this video!!
I freaking missed your vlogs like this one man, the fact that is in tokyo makes me love it even more.. I love tthat city and country so muuuch, i hope i can see it at leats once in my life :(((
