I have really been struggling with this and never even thought first the problem was my trail leg, thank you guys!
I was thinking the same thing
My feet and legs play a bigger part in my game than anything else. Thanks for the tips guys.
The biggest thing that Kyle and Marshall have is their body structure. Long, Talln, Linky frame is a contributing factor. Plus it adds to it be a little bit more flexible.
Great tips but I think you forgot to mention the balance arm , it's probably as important as the trial leg for balance, a video on the balance arm and creation of upper body torque would be greatly appreciated.
I focused on two things for this week’s league. Posting the shot (trail leg balance) and a quicker release from the ball. The lanes broke down in game three but I managed to average 182 over 3 games focusing on the 2 things.
This will be a breakout year for Brad! In the League competition you could literally see him get better shot by shot.
I liked Brads Balance , in the famous Brad shuffle video 😂😂😂.
Thank y’all for such great videos !!
Struggled a lot with this at jr gold and everyday thanks for the video
I was actually up and down a couple times at jr gold
Great video guys love your stuff. Using it to get better!!!
Thanks for those tips, guys! I too struggle w/ my trail leg coming up!
This video was great for me I’m so glad you made it.
Good information. Jasnau specifically talked about this in my coaching session with him and actually compared me to Brad in terms of how I would bring my trail leg up instead of keeping it on the ground behind me.
This is a lesson I really need... I'm headed to Vegas for the military tourney in a few weeks. Last year, I had balance and fouling issues. This will be apart of my practice regimen moving forward.
Definitely needed this tip, thanks guys!
Great video, definitely helpful to your form and something I space out on from time to time. Lately I've been leaning into my approach after my first (of 4) steps and it's giving me more trajectory down lane. As a higher rev tweener with a problem going heavy into the pocket, this was something to add for me personally. Thank you guys for all your work!
i was going to bowl today and tried this on my last 3 games that i bowled and shot 20+ my avg helped a lot thank you. also keep up the great work always watching your videos and excited to see more.
I thought this video would help alleviate issues at the start of the approach which cause bowlers to be out of balance at the line. The trail leg is at the end of the approach and in my opinion is an advanced level technique. More tips for balnce at the line would be predicated on issues at the beginning of the approach, such as ball position, shoulder alignment, pushaway, etc. And I have seen other videos you've done about these things, but not specifically related to balance at the line.
Man, I've been struggling with hip/glute pain and I think it's caused by not having enough knee bend. This tip may actually help a ton with this issue.
Same here, plus my trail leg is bone on bone in the knee:(
Great job! It is hard to find instructional videos that discuss the trail leg. My problem is that my trail leg is more like 6 to 7 o"clock, which makes it difficult to get the ball close to my slide ankle. I keeop trying to get it to 8 o'clock, but it is difficult to fight a lifetime of muscle memory. LOL
I’ve had 5 lessons with Jas, but kept failing and failing until I read his notes and reviewed his flash drives he lets me take after the lessons and just noticed this is one things he has repeatedly tries to dig in my head because each time he sees me he has to straighten me up on this. Very bad and frustrating on my part. Im glad he has been patient with me, but I pay him😏. Im just glad and fortunate I have him as my coach.
A video I could listen to
I struggle with a consistent slide causing me to have bad balance. I will slip and stick and can’t seem to find the middle ground. Any advice on how to find a good middle ground?
Tips for 2 handers pleaseeee. Also I got my 300 ring in and I love it soooo much
Brilliant!!!😎😁
Cool video talk tech bowling brad and Kyle
My son got a impromptu lesson from Parker Bohn III at a ball demo... he STRESSED to him.. balance balance balance... he called it "sticking the landing" meaning .. when you slide, that slide foot does not wiggle around at the foul line
Every time I see Jasnau he references Brad and his progress. I just realized this lately too. Brad current post/balanced is a good visual.
I threw a 288 last week. Very proud of myself.
Nice! Good bowling.
balance is very important. my average has broken the 200 barrier because of it. pusing 220s
What gets the Ball so close to your leg/ankle during the release. So after bowling mostly just one league a week for 30 years with mostly no practice I just noticed how close Pros release. I see the angle of body, but what gets you there in your approach?
How about us with almost constant vertigo issues? I have to adjust almost every throw and cannot get consistent.
Do you have a video to get power...
What bowling shoes should I buy?
Are you guys in St. Louis? Im from there, wish id been into bowling when i was there... 😅
I start every one of my son’s practices with a balance (no-step) drill.
And what about the two-handers? I am really trying to keep my trailleg on the ground. But with al the power
Good stuff! Do you guys have any tips on getting and keeping a deeper knee bend? I notice I can keep my foot down, but it still wants to lift because my body can't stay low enough through the knee bend. Is this just a muscular thing that requires the gym?
I'm not sure it requires going to the gym but you have diagnosed the problem correctly. If the muscles around the knee aren't strong enough you will reflexively pop up to protect the knee. If you don't want to go to a gym these are muscles you can strengthen on you own. Biking and climbing stairs will strengthen them as will doing squats and lunges. as you get stronger you hole a dumbbell or a bowling ball while you do your squats or lunges.
@@janderson8401 Thanks for the tips! I've been doing gymnastic ring work with my pull-up bar to get into deep knee positions and emulate the proper form at release, but I think I really just need to start lifting weights or doing weighted squats.
I do frequently use a 15-pound dumbbell and go through the approach and that has helped a ton with my arm swing, but definitely still struggle keeping that deep knee bend without the need to bend at the waist. Just a work in progress I guess.
@@janderson8401 Hope whatever exercise(s) you are doing are improving your balance and game. I am an older bowler and noticed my left knee (right handed) isnt as strong as I wish it were. I found a guy on U-tube who has several exercised to help with building the muscles around the knee and strengthening the legs. I've seen improvement since I started his program. kneesovertoesguy.
So what does it mean when you are putting too much pressure on your trail leg. I noticed a pain lately in my ankle and I fear it's from putting too much pressure on my trail leg through my shot.
One of the things I have to concentrate on is not letting my shoulder dip on my release as I try to get lower for a better release on the lane. Every time I let up, I cross over and at best can hit Brooklyn. Most times it's 6 pin for me as a lefty.
How do you get lower without dipping your shoulder? Do you bend your back more, or bend your knees more?
@@cybersteel8 I try to bend at the knee more, but when it goes wrong, I'm bending at the hip/back and the shoulder just dips down.
@@michaelplowman8674 Understood. I have been trying to get lower as well, and my main focus has been the knees, but mainly I try and change my step distance a bit. Keeping my legs a bit further apart allows me to get a bit lower. Still working on it though. Maybe that'll help
Guys, thanks for the video !
I do think your explanation needs tweaking tho.
Dude- pinky side ? Wtf ?
How about practicing with an ankle weight on?
I feel like every video follows after the problems I had at league that week prior 😂 I have 99 problems but getting info from these boys isn’t one
I just looked at my shoe tons of wear on the wrong side of the the toe I am not getting my toe around no wonder I have been struggling wow
Don't forget the balance arm!!!!
Yo first!!
I keep hopping at the end of my approach like I can’t keep myself balanced so I hop to not fall. Anybody have any advice?
Is it normal to get wrist pain when bowling?
Even like after I’m done, like I haven’t bowled in maybe 5 days and my wrist is weak compared to my other one
I’m new, joined a league and got up to 171 average in 8 weeks. However I can bowl a 218 in one game and a 89 in the next. I can’t figure out how. It drives me crazy. When it’s going bad I concentrate on concentrating and it doesn’t work. Any tips?
What kinds of spares were you leaving/missing, and what kind of strategy do you have for spares? Cuz those kinds of numbers tell me that you may not be taking your spares as seriously as you should. The exact same happened to one of my buddies as what happened to you: He went 220, 90, 130 and missed probably 13 or so spares. His 220 had I think eight strikes and three opens.
Throw your ball straight at each and every spare you leave. Doesn't matter what the spare is, throw straight at it. Get a light house ball if you have to. Once you have the fundamentals to hit the targets needed for your spares, everything else gets very easy.
Fun fact, and I've crunched the numbers to prove this, If you can run as little as 4 strikes a game but cover every spare you leave and maybe miss like 2-3 splits a game, you have a 200 average.
@@SirJoelsuf1 oh man, thx, yes, picking up spares is my issue. I will work on that.
Hi Brad 😘🥰😍
When I go to practice and bowl 8 to 10 games over two hours my legs are getting a lot of fatigue.. and tips on how to reduce the fatigue
Could this be practiced out of a One Step drill or just full approach?
I think yes in the one step. Have seen the Kegel video on one step & they do it there.
What about someone like me that is wrong Footed due to my cerebral palsy?
I swear I keep thinking the camera boxes are dead wood, then I realize it's way too big to be a 3.4-3.6 lbs pin
what about two handed players?
Don't you know? You're supposed to step off every shot lol
There's a guy local to me that has 30+ 300 and at least 20 800 in town that falls off every single shot. He becomes human pretty quickly out of town.
I feel like two handed bowlers, are very kin to the child who pulls his pants all the way down to the ankles just to use the urinal..
Its 2023, 2 handed bowling ain’t going anywhere. Get busy adapting or get busy dying
@@BradandKyleBowl Oh No I’m down for it! I think it’s great for the sport. Just about every kid in the league throwing two hands.
It’s just wild as hell👏
These videos are GOLD. Thank you very much!
Tips on general rules to follow when bowling on short and long patterns in the future please. 😊🎳
Can someone recommend a good camera and tripod to record my practice sessions?
In all honesty, at the beginner and even intermediate levels we recommend just a phone setup. The cameras in them are so good and it is so convenient, and great quality to rewatch the footage easily. Any basic phone tripod mount should do! Amazon has loads of them
This is something I have been working on over the summer, and I’ve been inconsistent with keeping my trail leg on the ground and in the right place. Gonna keep working on it. Thanks for all your tips guys. I’ve watched a lot of bowling tips videos from other pros and coaches, but your videos are the best imo. ❤️🎳
