@@maximecaron2766 1 liter of soda is about 400 calories, it's like a pretty small meal, it's really not that much. soda only makes you fat when it's in addition to everything else. And he probably drinks less than 1 liter.
it's all about quantities, if his daily diet is one fast food meal(like 600-800cal) + one small meal with a tiny steak(400cal max) + soda(400cal max), he's probably not even reaching 2k calories.
Also he's like 6'2 or 6'3 so he needs a lot more calorie than an average sized person. Also asmon has gained a lot of weight the past few years, he's like +50lbs compared to like 4 years ago so it's starting to catch up to him. Look up photos of him from like 5 years ago he used to be a sekeleton, now he's pretty average for a tall person

If you talk to or are a fat or skinny person, one thing is clear; fat people love feeling full and stuffed with food, while skinny people find it uncomfortable to be full.

"stupid" isnt mocking the amount of knowledge someone has but how one uses it
Watching Asmon agonize over red apples and the skin of fruit is like watching an adult toddler. Some of these takes are just wild.
I mean I would peel them all as well, but I just can't be bothered and eat the skin anyway and much of the nutrients are in the skin as well.
But grapes taste better without the skin and so does apples and pears, you just eat it anyway because who can be bothered peeling that shit.
What I will say about fruit is when I started eating at least one fruit a day on average I stopped having dental issues after age 18, I haven't had to go to the dentist in 12 years. In fact I only have to brush my teeth about once every 1-2 months, usually when I switch my diet a little and don't eat enough fruit. My gums are even more healthy and tight only needing to floss every 2-3 months, usually when I eat some extra tough meat or lots of corn/popcorn. My guess is fruit acids and phytonutrients helps maintain an extremely good balance of bacteria in the mouth. If you suffer from bad breath, eat an apple a day instead of using mouth wash.

those highbush blueberries are really mild tasting, you dont know what blueberry is untill you eat the wild scandinavian variety, its like 5 times more healthy and tasty also it stains everything because it has so much color in it.

They fucked up on the blueberries for sure. They had the right idea to cut them open but you can see the one he had was clear color inside. They should literally should be a dark, dark blue for the sweet blueberry taste that's in all artificial foods. I for the longest time thought blueberries were nasty till I had a mushy one and realized that means it's perfect.

I don't think he's acting he's even getting red having to swallow and chew on some of these fruits. He's a very picky eater for sure, maybe even a supertaster they are known for having problems with many different foods because they taste them much more intensely than normal people do. Out of all of the fruits there I would say Cantaloupe is the worst by far, they should have bought him some honey melon instead.

This is not entirely true. I have 3 sons and the middle one is really picky, and I did everything the same as I did with my other kids. Things are more complicated when it comes to this kinda weird picky eating habit. Tbh they didnt talked about it but stage of growth of apples + the different species + some other things make a huge difference like some apples are really trash and mediocre and some are top tier tasty food. And i think in general that applies to all fruits and vegetables too. And of course you can find i think alot of flavor to suit your taste too.

I feel like shit after eating fast food, so I don't do that too often, the reason is pretty obvious...
Here's the thing tho... the more regularly you eat fast food, the less it affects you in that way. The reason for it (I think) is mostly due to it being WAY more sodium than your body is used to consuming at one time, so your system rejects the food... hence you feeling sick afterward. I used to eat fast food semi-regularly and it didn't really affect me much after I got used to it; but before and since then, I can't eat fast food without feeling sick for the rest of the day.

He might be, but for me it was with vegetables for years because of a unhealthy diet, I had gag reflex trying to tasting them. After I stopped eating like garbage every day, and went back to a normal diet my gag reflex for vegetables also went away. Now I can eat them again.

It's really the intensity of the fruit.
The stuff Asmond normally has is Super overloaded with sugars and acids and stuff, so of course anything else to the pallete is just gonna express the weak, bland, and bitter, parts of the fruits, cause the pallete has already been so desensitized to the sweets and sours and such.
I am more surprised about his problem with the textures of the fruits! (and that he disliked a nectarine, never seen anybondy not liking the taste of nectarines before)
There was a study some time ago that people like food better if it incorporates more than one texture in one bite.
A prime example would be a cake. With the dough, filling, maybe fruit and a topping and maybe even with whipped cream.
Even a lot of sweets tend to have different textures in one bite. Fried food that was dunked in some dough before...
I think this is the reason people hate Lacroix so much as well... When you're on a diet of more mild, subtle flavors and you cut out junk food and large amounts of sugary fruits, lacroix and other sparkling water taste just as strong as regular soda

Yeah that's likely the origin of his dislike for fruit never really growing up with it. His dad did say his mom fed him frozen strawberries when he was a baby but maybe as he grew older he was no longer introduced to fruits.

Didn't have a single piece of chocolate or anything with sugar inclusing sodas since then. I'm 22 now and as healthy as one can be.

@@christophfischer2773 Not necessarily. I have always been able to eat lemons like other ppl eat oranges and they taste delicious to me (except they give me heartburn if I eat a lot). But I shudder at strong berry flavors like raspberry, blueberry and blackberry. As a matter of fact, my own fruit tier list is virtually identical to Asmon's, which shocked me, because I've never heard of anyone with the same strange taste I have in fruits, before. Now I'm thinking maybe people can have some rare genetic mutation in their taste buds that causes it, similar to the way some people like cilantro and others think it tastes like soap.

Yeah Blueberries are probably one o the most horrible fruits along with lemons, pomegranate or however its spelt.
Bananas are interesting because it’s pretty much two different fruits based on how ripe it is. Semi green tastes a lot different than brown speckled.
strawberries (just like all other fruits) are picked befor ripe.... BUT, unlike most other fruits, strawberries do not ripen after being picked, they just turn a little more red is all.
so yeah, all strawberries you buy in any form of bulk stores (like supermarkets) are not ripe and don't have anywhere near the full taste of a ripe one.
the reason for the early picking is that many fruits and strawberries as special don't stay good very long... for strawberries to be good, you eat them either from the little bush directly, or within 1 day
