- 3rd squadron, 17th cavalry regiment, 3rd combat aviation brigade, made history as they retired the squadron’s kiowa assault helicopters at
hunter army air field during a final training flight spanning the savannah coastal region. photojournalist zach rehnstrom was along for the ride and joined 3rd cab for this historic event.

My dad worked on that beauty. He was in the army for 6 years and he worked on the OH-58D Kiowa. I’m glad I got to see and be around and even climb in such an amazing aircraft and even see it’s final flight up close and personal. Still miss that beauty.
