- Brandon invited me back out to learn how to fly the OH-6 as Pilot in Command (startup to shut down). Looking for a good book to read? Check out N.O. Justice, the latest in the ALEX SHEPHERD Series: books2read.com/u/mV6zl5

Jet Pilot at heart. (After Lift-Off) "When does the Air-Speed come alive?"
"and then we met Lester". So much love in that one moment between you both for someone who has helped you both out
When you love these kind of guys doing these kinds of things, a 30 minute video goes by like nothing! Good times!
Brandon is such a cool dude, he has that quality that alot of military and those who serve have. A quite confidence mixed in with humility, its rare to see that today in humanity. That lift off was Badass, no messing around typical dustoff
exciting and wow the take off, the landing wow in the dark on that small mobile plateau
Ну , да . Если бы еще и шутки , то чтение ,,молитвы" заняло бы половину дня .
I wish more young folk would idolize guys like you instead of these social media/entertainment clowns. You show what hard work, dedication and a 'want too' attitude can do. You are success the right way. It's also the kind of success that wont go away overnight.
Great video. Brings back memories from my tour in Vietnam. Our pilots used to teach us enough to get it on the ground in case they were disabled. I remember going out to a field and hovering and using the pedals to turn one way then the other the lt never gave me control alone but I believe that I could have landed. LOL might not have been pretty nbut struts are easier to replace than pilots.this I'd a great video. I HAD FORGON THE TEMP FOR Aas far a hot start.m concerned the best light helicopter ever built.!!
Idolize? Nope, set higher standards and get off the phone and pc sure. No human ever should be idolized
As you can see, I’ve done my job correctly! For all you instructors out there, teaching the proper way will cause a change in behavior according to Malvo’s hierarchy of learning! It makes the pilot think! Even the 3Gs toppa T checklist is embedded in Movers memory to make sure the helo is ready to fly. Even Brandon has a piece of it! As long as they both keep learning, mission accomplished. Fly safe my young Padawan The force will be with you, always. 🚁🇺🇸👮🏻♂️
Malvo? Maslow. I hope you didn't teach him the wrong stuff!
@@1225KPH
Maslow's was a hierarchy of NEEDS.
Hierarchy of learning was Cagne. (can't do accents,[ or is it a grave?])
8:12 The sound of a starting engine never gets old :-)
The best!!
Pure gold .. ;)
If you are in the cargo area you can hear it go tivk, tick tick tell it starts combustion.
CW hangs with great people. Brandon is another one.
Mover is literally living the dream, worked for the Navy and Air Force, Is and airline pilot. And literally can fly a helicopter.
Doesn't he work for the police/sheriff department
@@sicknote1558 holy crap I think you’re right! This dude has every job!
But do he farm weed?
Not yet…
@@bocefusmurica4340 😀
Next job? AIRWOLF.....🚁
Outstanding job on that final landing. Environment, hangar lights, anti-collision, new airframe, right seat. Very good job.
Yeah that is sweet CW, the OH-6 is such a cool helo. You’re adding onto your mad skills.
Your dad would absolutely have LOVED this!!!
I never flew helicopters, but my father loved flying with me and we had a couple fun adventures together, one with his mother who had never flown b4!! She was a little Cherokee gal who loved to fish & hunt and she swore up and down that she saw a fish break from 7500'!!! (She couldn't tell who was 10' from her, but she swore she saw a fish break down on a lake in western NC ;-) Take care Mr Mover, and have fun :-)
I can here the magnum PI music in my head.
I cannot overstate how jealous I am. Always wanted to get time in a little bird/loach.
I recently finished up my PPL and fly a 172 out of Stennis. I’ve been following you for a few years now and seeing you fly over the same places I see every weekend is awesome. I’m building XC hours so I’ll be ready to start IFR training in February. I’ve been listening to the radio waiting to hear ya make a call while I’m in the air. Congrats bro on your new ticket!!
Life altering words, "And then we met Lester"
Thank you for your attention to detail during training. Produces good pilots apparently. More importantly, I see a sheriffs emblem. Thank you for keeping your communities safe.
Can’t help but visualize the Magnum, PI, intro as soon as I saw this.
Paint this thing up in yellow, orange, and brown stripes and start a company called....Island, I mean, uhh...
Bayou Hoppers? Haha
It was scary and nerve racking at the beginning, but learning the UH-60 was amazing. The start up on any helicopter is extensive and methodical, but absolutely necessary. Having a good co pilot makes a huge difference. Ive heard recently that the engineers are making this process much easier now, using better computers to help navigate system checks etc. Flying a a single prop was so easy compared to helicopters.
Houston PD has several OH-6s in its fleet, so I see them buzzing in and out every day at work and its always a joy. They recently brought one out of maintenance and they did the post maintenance hop checking all the controls and everything so it was kinda cool seeing how nimble the OH-6 is as the pilot did all the checkout maneuvers around their pad.
Love the 500 series. It's a shame they're not as popular anymore.
@Cutter Well that's god to hear. They seem to like them overseas in places. The Taliban now have a nice collection. (ahem). Here in SoCal it's nothing but 350s. Been that way for a long time. Maybe they'll order a new version for the 160th guys a some point.
We have two brand new 530F models in our dept.
I've watched a load of your videos, Mover, thanks for all the work you put into the pot and then sharing what you take out of the pot, it's a beautiful circle of life and now you've flown a Loach; super envious fella, big thumbs up from me and my buddies!
12:22 best advice. Feel what the helicopter is doing and stay ahead of it.
That Sheriff aviator is a Super cool instructor pilot
Man that engine startup is something else. Congrats on all your success.
Awesome man! This is a much deserved moment!
Can’t get over how much i enjoy watching your skills improve and the interaction/banter.
Great to see Brandon again, classy, with understated confidence. Great job Mover! Enjoyed the night views of Gulfport.
Very nicely done on the lift off and hovering. It looks so fun!!! Thank you, Mover, for sharing your flying experiences!!!
Well I have been waiting for this vid for a long time - great work Mover, we all knew it would happen eventually (no sleight on you) and happy to have been along for the journey! Cheers.
This brings back so many memories, especially landing a bazillion times on a dolly during my offshore flying for 10 years. 🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🚁 Thank you to all instructors and students. And a HUGE shout out to the maintenance staffs. 💥💥
You can reach under your leg if it’s not uncomfortable for you. I used my thumb for the starter and have left thumb ready for “cut off.” Plenty of techniques out there but that one worked for me. You can count “clicks” on the trim to give you an idea of what to go back to from hover to forward flight and back to hover. Gets you in the ball park.
Great flying Mover. You piloted the OH-6, went through the preflight check list and the start, like you've been in the right seat for years! Your take-off and landing was awesome! The white sandy beaches and the beautiful gulf water was a great area for the "sortie". Deputy Brandon is a cool dude. He had your back and you had his like all of our law enforcement and military brothers and sisters. Harrison County and Gulfport are beautiful areas. (Bill from Slidell)
I'm so impressed by how calm Brandon is during this whole video. I have to say there was a couple of times it looked like he wanted to take the controls. He had ice running through his veins. Nice looking flight.
That was fantastic! Awesome work, well deserved.
Nice job CW !! anyone would think you'd flown before hehe !! Glad to see you with another video, hope the hurricane didn't cause you or your family any issues. Best wishes, Daz, Leicester, UK
I really enjoyed this. I look forward to more of them. Thanks.
Buzzing for you Mover! Love watching these videos👏🏼👏🏼
Mover, lots of new F-18s flying out of STL today. You can't mistake that first take off and acceptance flight. Nothing like taking off and punching that angle of attack to about 50 degrees and watching her fly. Beautiful.
Never forget your first love.... The OH-6 was my first EVER ride in an aircraft. The fact that it was a helicopter, made the love affair that much more intense. Should have stayed with it lonnng ago!
My wife would argue though
Lovely. Absolutely lovely. Great flying and thanks for sharing.
I haven't flown/piloted since 92 and I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed to detailed vid of your first flight in the OH-6! It made me feel like I was learning and flying all over again! Your instructor was much better than mine! God Bless and don't hit your shadow!
These helicopter videos are fantastic Mover. The sound of that engine start up, so awesome.
Great video Mover. Thanks for the ride along!
Great stuff. What a great opportunity.
Learning never gets old!!
Excellent video Mover, thank you for taking us along!
Totally awesome video!
It's really amazing that you get to do these things with these folks.
It pays to not be a douche!
And yes, based on watching you with Lester, I believe Brandon will make a superb instructor. 👍
My first job {1979 - 1980} was working the flight line crew at an airport FBO in St. Petersburg, Florida. One of the area TV stations had an orange Hughes 500 helicopter for traffic reporting. They sometimes did morning 'show-off the helo' flights, and I got to go for a ride on one.
It was COOL!
Thanks for the beautiful views, and congrats on the right seat Mover!
Outstanding job Mover I know Lester is loving this
Awesome job!!! I'm really happy for you!
Excellent! Been so long since I’ve been up in a chopper. Used to hitch rides with our local NBC pilot in a 206. So much fun in a helicopter. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Awesome stuff Mover, glad to see you move onto a new goal. I also started watching airwolf because of this!
Airwolf a awesome series downloading as I type this.
You guys picked an amazing afternoon to go fly! And you landed that thing on the trailer....dude, you leveled up!
This is my all time favorite heli! Living the dream!
Very cool. The one I’ve flown my hangar neighbor owns is the Viet Nam version. Has a rocket control panel and a bunch of ashtrays. Even has several repaired bullet holes in the engine covers.
CW that is the helicopter I always wanted to flying and now I’m excited for you sir
Great start procedure CW
"Then we met Lester" yup!!
Thanks for the ride along! Well done sir!
Back in my line boy days 1968ish I asked an Army loach driver to show me what it would do when he departed OWB. He wound it up and popped into the air like he was fired out of a mortar. Awesome.
this is a serious machine ! thanks for the video.
Great Video CW!
Always fun to ride along 🤠🤠 with you on your adventures
We're proud of you sir
Wild. In my back yard. Flew right over the Chouest and Tidewater vessels docked in the industrial canal. Was cool seeing them fly by the Beau and Deer Island.
So many times 😢 just the most beautiful experience
I was stationed there in the Navy only a couple years ago. Pretty cool seeing you fly there
This is the content I needed! That startup sound is money!
"And then we met Lester" :D
Awesome video Mover :-)
Welcome to the club brother. Keep up the good work. Scouts Out.
Another great Vid Mover, easy watching. Thank you
Dad flew them in Vietnam! 54th Field Artillery Group and some great guys. Thank you!
Very very cool! Great flying👍👍👍
Glad to see you in the OH6
Man nice landing, Mover! When he ashed you if you wanted to put it on the trailer and you said, "I do not." I thought, yeah me too, man. But then you just did it like a pro--and at night!. And you're right, Brandon is a great instructor. Very, very cool.
This is my favorite helo. Great video.
In my opinion one of the best helicopters made. Though they have been made by different companies over the years they still are great performers. Hope you had a great time.
Dude, I just started watching your channel and I was excited for you on this ride! that was fun to watch...good luck with your Heli future!
Great job love your vids keep up the good work!!!!
Really nice intro! Really good flying!
All them Edison Chouest boats at 18:35... Brandon is definitely low key. Great flight!
The good ole little bird, gotta be fun to fly, and brandon a great dude.
Great stuff Mover….enjoyed it.
That was another really interesting and awesome video Mover!
While you're flying different helicopters, if an R66 flight became available to you, if you haven't already flown one, I'd be interested to see that flight and then hear your opinion on the different Robinsons that you've flown.
Mover! Awesome video! When are you going to put second flight in the OH-6 video up! Lol love your content! Keep up the good work!
When a person is comfy w their machine they give off this calmness when using it! I love it! Great instructor! I was taught to use have machinery and never had a teacher this good! 👏 Damn construction guys actually didn't want to teach me /: had to learn ony own after a co worker forced me into one and taught me under the bosses noses. Thank you for posting. Great work!!!! Hope more men learn from you in how to b a proper instructor.
Love your heli videos, keep em coming!!
Awesome video Mover, thanks.
Nice trolley landing Mover!!!! well done on your first time.. it's a challenge to get on those and you pretty much nailed it dude..
awesome machine , great flying
"You wanna put it on the dolly"
"UUHHHHHHIIIIIIIII do not" LOL!
Great flying, Mover. Love choppers in DCS but man they scare the shit out of me IRL.
Awesome, as usual.
Great video, looks like your type of helicopter. It serenely keeping things moving :)
These are awesome. I hope you get to take us on some flights when you're doing some LE work
The Hugh's / MD series and F-15 Eagle. One of the prettiest sounding start-up sequences in all of aviation...er for turbines.
Thank you 🙏 beautiful video
Now that's a cool video....Well done....you're a pretty good stick in a whirly bird.
Great video CW. Makes me want to learn to fly the Huey in DCS. It looks like you had fun. :-)
