- Rise, Tarnished, and be guided by grace to brandish the power of the Elden Ring and become an Elden Lord in the Lands Between. Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between, a fictional realm over which several demigods rule. It was previously ruled over by the immortal Queen Marika, who acted as keeper of the Elden Ring, a powerful force that manifested itself as the physical concept of order.
When Marika shattered the Elden Ring and disappeared, her demigod children began fighting over pieces of the Ring in an event called The Shattering. Each demigod has a shard of the Ring called a Great Rune, which corrupts them with power. In the game, the player character is a Tarnished, one of a group of exiles from the Lands Between who are summoned back after the Shattering. The player must traverse the realm to repair the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord.

you might wanna go over your recent items tab, you’ve picked up leads to ranni’s quest that you never followed up on.
As others mentioned, open that chest by rennala! It contains a pretty good item for you. I also wanna let you know there’s some pretty useful things you’ll wanna see directly outside Leyendell. You found the teleport there, so you never went in the “intended” way and you may not wanna miss a couple things out there. There’s also a ton to explore inside lower than you’ve been so far. I dont wanna spoil anything big, but trust me, explore more!

His questline culminates in trying, and failing, to turn Ranni into a puppet. And she will kill you too, and stop talking to you until you confess your sins. So yeah. This man is awful. And might also be a puppet?
26:53 So you may recall that you were maidenless. You may also recall the silent woman in the Radahn Festival who merely bowed. Seluvis did not show up for the Festival himself. Instead he sent a puppet... a puppet who may have been set to be your maiden.

The final key to Ranni's quest is a key to a chest in Raya Lucaria. Thankfully, there's no deadline for this. Fear not, Tarnished. All will be well. I do also recommend trying to enter the Capital from Altus as well, whenever the mood strikes you. Just for the sake of exploring more area.
The similarity in physical structure to the Fallingstar Beast has definitely got me asking some questions!
