"I just want to drop the clutch" UPS probably already did that for you
Sam Moitie too soon 🥺
noice
Ay ooooh
Ups is trash I’ve left comments about them losing that under so many of there Facebook posts
way to soon dude haha
This car represents every car enthusiasts dream of realizing their own car built their own way.
But even more the struggle of troubleshooting, fitment, frustration of waiting for parts, and dreaming of the finish line.
Blood. Sweat. Tears.
This is THE car of the people, built by a man of the people.
Thanks for bringing us along Rob!
You left out UPS nightmares
“Frustration of waiting for parts” js
Because how many idiots try to build a hypercar like this
@@Empty_Roar :| the point went so far over your head i really cant understand it
@@Empty_Roar not many since they lack funds.
Would I have a the money I would build a Mk3 supra, with the V12 from the top secret supra but with twin turbos AND a supercharger.
But most importantly two things. I would try to make it a road legal fan car, while incoperating as much of the Koenig wide body as possible (the most beautiful wide body in history in my opinion)
BUT I wouldn't go full racecar with it. It would get heavily chousend 80s seats with wool. Extra big glove box to store at least 100 cassettes properly. Led strips behind all panel gab so the whole thing can light up pink tron style.
And to top it all of? A custom 8 speed MANUAL transmission. It would be my dream autobahn cruiser
*I love entire episodes about Dahm’s shaft*
My favorite gif of Jack Nicholson nodding as the camera zooms in comes to mind.
damn that shaft is nice, long and thick
@@RobDahm the scene from Anger Management!
Brace yourselves, the shaft yokes are coming...
Those are some stiff driveshafts.
*Can't drop the clutch without a clutch Rob!*
Too soon?
My bad.
UPS dropped the clutch for him!!
Daaaaaaaaaaaayyuuuuummmm!
UPS beat rob and were the first to drop the clutch of an AWD 4 rotor
0:26 - "You know what is nice FedEx got me the high angle ones today"
Meanwhile at UPS: *AUTISTIC SCREECHING* CALL OUR GUYS AT FEDEX HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!!!
It is as if UPS was betting with Rob Spaghettinii against you finishing 4 rotor within our lifetime xD
If it weren't for these videos I don't think I would be able to fully understand the insanity of this car... this shit is so exciting, thank you Daddy Dahm for all that you do!
The people demand Daddy Dahm shirts hahaha
Dude! So glad to see you a little less stressed than your last video. I was worried about you. Keep pushing!
If I couldn’t have a better day than today’s video. It was amazing to see this come together
Its so satisfying watching the axles being pressed together
👴🏻yes nice profile picture
We all like a tight fit (but not too tight).
Rob: how much carbon fiber do you want ?
Rob: yes
Hear me out. Billet Carbon Fiber
Carbotanium ;)
@@RobDahm Apparently it's been tried, didn't go so well due to the toxic fibers and messing up the end mills on the cnc machine.
@@mr_benn Robdhamium
@@DJNokem I have actually put carbon fiber parts into a CNC mill on a job I had a few years back. Nothing special to CNC carbon fiber.
Loving this.... all this content... can you build another one when this one's done ? Just to keep the video's coming haha

Alex Elrod Nah a 4wd rotary hybrid, with the electric motor mated straight to the crank at the front or back of the engine, electric motor pulls down low, rotary starts getting fuel and kicks in up top (could run a pressure release so it doesn’t make any compression until it starts getting fuelled). Batteries regen on overrun.
Could even make it an epic collaboration with the guy who built the Zombie 222 Mustang.
@Dutch Performance
I'll have to agree with that statement! This build is mind-bogglng.
I wish I could volunteer a few thousand hours with Rob as an intern, so that I could learn new skill sets and absorb all of that engineering theory!
I've dreamed of restoring classic cars and building custom cars since I was a kid.
Somehow the opportunity to learn those skills and to have a workshop space just never came together for me.
Now, well into my 50's, it seems a little unlikely that I'll ever have the chance, but I keep on dreaming and doing my best to soak up all of the auto racing, engineering, and mechanics-related content that I can find, on CZcams.
@@TimothyArcher get a car and do it! Learn as you go

Thanks for the encouragement, Blake!
I will be doing that, soon after immigrating back to America.
I've been living in the Philippines with my wife, for the past four years, since we married.
We hope to have her US Visa and fly back to the States before the end of January.
Before coming to the Philippines, I had a 2011 MINI Cooper Countryman S.
I've been watching the depreciation curve on those cars, and I think it's likely that I'll be able to buy one much more affordably, now.
I like the Clubman from that period, too, and might like to have one instead of a Countryman, if I can find one I like, with the amenities I want, at a favorable price.
I've also considered classic MINIs as well. Time will tell, whether I will go either of those routes.
I'm connected with contemporary and classic MINI clubs in my home locale, so finding something that I can get excited about, should not be difficult.
Overall, there are so many cars and trucks I like, from the 1940s to present day.
It's fun to watch a wide range of car and truck content, to study up and begin writing long and short lists of potentials, and to get an idea what kind of build and or modifications that I might like to go with.
This is possibly one of the coolest parts of the entire build
6000 ft lbs of torque, thank god the 4 rotor will have about 7 ft lbs
I was thinking atleast 12ft lbs
You guys are bad!
You are massively under rating it dude, it will make atleast 17ft/lbs
Hey, the 4 wheel drive launch is getting the tires to start turning in the first place. Needs at least 19ft/lbs for that.
@@patrickdabs I was thinking around 1ft lb per face I mean there's a lot of turbo but don't want to get too carried away

“Properties only in one direction”
Robs blown mind “ohhhhhhhh”
To be fair that's _extremely_ unusual
what about aggressive engine braking then? thats reversing the direction is it not?
@@wotever99ninynine you'll have fibers wound equally in +-45 degrees or so to take both forward and reversed torque
@@baviddeckham yeah, I think the correct way to say it is that the properties are in one axis, independent of the direction on that axis.
Never thought another man’s shafts would put such a big smile on my face 😃
you always had it in you ....dont act so surprised

You sir made my day
It's impressive that even when ups fuck3d up your project you can still provide daily uploads for us! We need this kind of guys on youtube.
And we thought it was LZ's year of the flex
CZcams year of the flex tbh
James needs these for the 240
Hell Yeah Brother!
I'm quite impressed that an adhesive can be so powerful.
Right on time, always get my lunch and ur vid in on break
Loving the daily uploads!
Rob, was surprised they didn't just use an ultrasonic bath and bag the part in alcohol, submerged in the bath to super clean any greases or oils before bonding. Wish I had a surface tester like that when I made composite test samples for aerospace apps ! We just cleaned everything immediately before bonding inside a hood as an assurance of cleanliness. This seems much more scientific and reliable as a standard. Can't wait to see it all come together for SEMA !
The group of gentleman who worked on these with you are seriously a helpful bunch. If I ever were to have a build that needs carbon fiber(Not in my lifetime) I''d come to these guys. Just really shows how their customer service and priorities are.
I love talking to machinist. They have such an incremental process to everything they do that makes me feel so reassured about the physics I'm about to test. Thank you Rob and company for pushing the boundaries!
Greetings Rob pretty impressed with all the engineering going into this car I really misunderstood when you say you was going to build a car usually means buying things and throwing things into a car not engineering a car.🤔
i like how rob says that everything he needs is in his shop... Except his clutch
F
Dude, too soon...
@Rob Dahm
It's really been fascinating to see this car come together!
I learned of you and this project, just about six weeks ago, when the @HOONIGANS visited your shop.
I really have no background in automotive engineering or mechanics, but I know that this car is very unique in many respects.
I appreciate the dedication and mad genius that you've invested in this car.
Last night, I learned that you have been developing this car for several years as a four-rotor, when I watched a video that was recorded at SEMA, two or three years ago.
The entire project has come light years, since then, with your new billet four-rotor engine, and these incredible carbon fiber drive train components.
I'm really excited for you, Rob, that you are finally realizing your dream at such an off-the-hook level.
It's truly a work to be proud of. Hats off to you and Isaiah--what an awesome welder and fabricator--and everyone who contributed their time and talents to this build.
Rob, you need that gentleman with the moustache back in front of the camera and say "Diabetes.... "
Just fucking around, awesome pieces of engineering and art right there.
I work at FedEx!!
Thank God I didn't work at UPS 🤣🤣🤣
This was really cool! Love to see how this stuff is made and assembled
Awesome stuff Rob! Hope you get your clutch soon! Can not wait to see the finished Car at SEMA!
Must be some amazing adhesive, to handle that much torque. You have some fantastic people working with you.
Rob: Posts a vide
me: OH WORDDDDD LETS GOOOOOO
nice 👍
This car will be a monster at the track
I’m stoked!
Do they spin-balance them? If yes, how off are they compared to conventional shafts.
I’m so happy to see you’re in full send mode on this build now. The amount of money that must be flowing out of your pocket must be insane. I’ve never wanted to see a build get finished more then this one
It’s so cool and admirable how much Rob has struggled and kept on working because he seems to want to make this car THAT badly! It’s cool to show that following your passions isn’t without its challenges.
Great video Rob, love seeing the process of how stuff is made for the 4 rotor
I love all these videos, just all this dedication to the project, amazing
Keep up the good work man! I'm very glad you are still powering through the build
I think the fact that these guys really know what they're doing has helped rob relax a bit. Even with ups shitting the bed as per usual
Love the project Rob amazing build. Can't wait for the next part of the process. Thank you
wow, i am amazed. way to go Rob, love the content, love the 4 rotor! thank you so much for all the great content! cant wait to see more of the 4 rotor!
I know next to nothing about cars, but I still enjoy every minute of these.
DAHM this is one interesting process .
Looking forward to seeing the Completed project .
Its has been one hell of a Road ! But Finally almost complete !
I highly reccomend putting a whitness mark across the carbon tube and the pressed in fitting. That way it's easier/faster to see if one has slipped. I have a carbon driveshaft at the house that the yolk spun inside the tube.
Rob you work with some wonderful people and really good companies. This project is going to be one of the best if not the best CZcams has ever seen. EVERYTHING IS CUSTOM!!!
Cool, I was wondering how they mated the shafts to the carbon without them slipping under torque.
Love the frequent uploads! Keep up the good work rob.
Yeah, that's some impressive kit.
Nice work, Rob!
It's pretty damn cool to see experts in their field sharing their knowledge and experience. Very cool Rob, thanks for sharing.
Love you, Rob Dahm
This car is going to be amazing. You're amazing Rob. Thanks for bring us along through the whole thing.
Really funny. I just taught myself how to order all the parts to make custom driveshafts the last two days. After watching your latest vid I wanted to find the one discussing angles and found this. Super cool!
I remember waiting weeks for the next video to come out. So great to see everything coming together man!
Wilford Brimley has mad knowledge about driveshafts
This is the kind of video i like to watch !!!! Maybe im weird but , i kinda want you to never stop posting these video , like your channel is for REAL car enthusiasts and thats why i like it !!
Love ya Papa Rob
Watched the whole thing. Awesome engineering
So happy for you that you got a sponsor like raycon. Love these episodes
Looks awesome. My partners and I use J.E. Reel for all of our jeeps. Great products. Can't wait to see the RX7 done
You have been very fortunate to team up with these people. They got it going on.
Keep it up Rob! Can't wait to see it drive
This is actually super interesting. I love getting the REAL info strait from the guys that ACTUALLY know wtf they are talking about.
The sheer passion and enthusiasm in your videos are inspiring and uplifting. Keep up with your rotary madness, I think we all really want to see it rip and tear in the nearest future!
Ray J has infiltrated the Automotive CZcams space. Smart man 👌🏾
Dude, I'm now sitting in a puddle of my own drool, Those parts are gorgeous! To say I'm envious would be an understatement. I find it hard to keep it together while waiting to see your project come to completion, 4 Rotor AWD High boost launches are gonna be EPIC!
I can't believe how patient you have been with this build. It will definitely be worth the wait! Hopefully we get to see it soon!
6:10 watch without sound:DDD
Cracked me up lol
Cannot be unseen. Thanks alot for that you jerk lol
What's so funny?
That's amazing
always nice to see how you lay out the parts.. very satisfying
Rob is back at it👍
I cannot wait until the build is finish and then the testing and tuning stage comes around. This car will go down in history for performance and beauty.
I have NEVER been more fascinated by drive shafts and axles EVER
I'm pumped to see this thing launch
100% the coolest thing ive ever seen on youtube ive made my own drive shafts out of metal and friction welding but this is a whole new level
Wow Billet Carbon! Its amazing what company's can do nowadays!
Very neat to watch. Amazing driveline.
Girls be like when saw Rob's driveshaft for the first time : "That's beefy!"
I have no words
What amazing process
I'm for sure ordering a pair of the earbuds! I really needed a pair.
UPS needs these parts Rob , to complete their 4 rotor ;)
Angelo F lol
Angelo F watch they show up at Sema right across from Rob with a 4 rotor lol
I love when ppl are knowledgeable 👍
It's crazy that adhesive is so strong that it can handle all that twisting force. Those guys seem like they know what they are doing!
I absolutely love watching master craftsmen at work.
At least this wasn't lost by certain brown and gold company! 😂
Bro that's the most insane drive line setup I've ever seen I've seen lots of carbon fibre shafts before but not that heavy duty and the ones I saw were going on some pretty high power cars yours makes them look small and you just sold me fro now on all drive shafts I need for my race car are now going to be done by them thanks for finding them and showing there work and a big thanks to them for showing us there work place and how they do it I love how they helped you go through what will work best for you and didn't try to jurk you around and say well you need this so modify your car and shit instead he cam up with better stronger shit for your car that's a great company right there and that's why I want to do my biasness there
Oh my god, that is an engineering/machining thing of beauty. Absolutely magnificent. Thank you Rob for sharing, despite your logistical 'challenges'
Those Driveline components are so sick. I don't think I'd ever have the power to need something like that but I still want it.
Bravo big bravo from Greece!!!
This is awesome Bro 👊👌👍😎 every time I watch your channel I learn something new.
Dahm those girthy shafts look good!
hey @RobDahm I am more excited than you to see that beast flying off!! I'm always here supporting you and your team and your Monstrous Project!
Glad to see parts made at a plant in my hometown, and that I used to work at being used in such a badass car!
I watch CZcams on phone, and every time one of your videos end abruptly I feel like its because I'm about to get a phone call and my anxiety shoots through the roof. Haha
KICKASS video ! Very interesting !
Thanks for the ride along !
I get excited when seeing your notifications. I feel your anxiety. Honestly the best channel on CZcams. I have one complaint though I miss the daily long content. Next is rob dahms podcast.
1310 U joints... being that small I hope they are made from the strongest U joint material like 300m. I dig shop visit videos like this so we can get all the info from the horse's mouth. I've always wanted to learn about the adhesive process on CF drivelines.
Fire video love this stuff I could watch them put them drive shafts together all day.
Every evening I'm looking on CZcams just to see your 4 rotor content, keep it up!
I hope you'll find a solution for the clutch, even if it means hacking scrapyard parts for now
This is the most insane build i have ever seen!
Damn it man! I just got my 2nd pair! The first pair broke from sweating on it within 3 weeks! I'll never wear a head band. So this second set better not short out!
3:00
Yes, glad it is a rotary!
And about the insane load capabilities of the shafts, they cannot hold that indefinitely. So you actually made your drivetrain essentially bulletproof!
The water that came with that tool might’ve been heavy water. No way to be sure while I’m typing this comment . I just got my rx8 (I know the renesis sucks) and I love it. Having a small idle problem but I’ve heard that’s typical of freshly rebuilt renesis motors for about a hundred miles . Either way I can’t wait to see footage of sema and this awesome car . Good luck with UPS (I saw the Instagram 😂)
