  • The first half of the video demonstrates sanding and preparing two small axes to electrochemical etch the classic logos of a Lincoln ax and a Black Raven ax.
The second half demonstrates a process I use to splice sanding
belts for an expanding lapidary wheel and custom small sanding blocks I manufacture.

Best part about your forgery is the warning on the bottom of the Lincoln scene "beware of imitations", I've got a different sense of humor I guess. Thanks for making the video, it's a good day when I see a new Paul Hamler video.

Why doesn't the salt solution run under the silk screen? Is the screen stuck down and sealed? Or is it because the pad is just barely damp? Also, could you describe how you make your silkscreen and where you source the screen material? Great video. Thank you.

I send the artwork to a company called Marking Methods, at some point you realize there are specialist that can do it faster and cheaper than having to learn a new process.

Ok, making a list of things Paul Hamler does not do...
      1. Make silk screens
Alright, that seems like a complete list as far as I can tell.

Thanks Paul. Always interesting, and useful. You might want to check out CombatAbrasives.com. I don't think they offer Trizak, but their other stuff is good, and at a good price. Have you ever tried the material from those tough shipping envelopes from FedEx as a splice backer? Might be just the ticket.

Jeff thanks for the link it looks interesting, I haven't tried the fed Ex envelopes but have tries the USPS with limited success.
