  • This video demonstrated different options and materials for scraping wood and other materials. Note there are two known errors in this video...I referred to the Highland Woodworking band saw blade as a wood miser......ITS A WOOD SLICER. Also StewMac is located in Ohio not California.
Maybe I forgot my meds again I can't remember.

Hey Paul! Your tip about using beeswax on the dremel grinding wheels is pure gold! That's going on a sticky note in my shop.

Paul, The "non-skid" you are using to hold your slabs for scraping, is probably a 3M product known as "Safety-Walk". Comes in various widths, and you can even get it with a rough rubber surface. Superb videos you are pushing out to us regarding your decades of experience! You are "the man". Thank you.

    THX, Paul.
Let me add a tip to your collection for miniaturists: the very *sharpest bladed-tip instrument available --useful for micro-scale work--- is what eye surgeons use: a triangular section of a double-edged razor blade, SNAPPED-OFF at an angle using a clamp.
Sure, eye surgeons use a fancy pencil-shaped clamp, but a vice-grip would do it (maybe your ruler-holder?). Just clamp from the outside-in [insert eye protection warning here]
Will be watching all your vids..

The "mylar" material you used for pencil drawing transfer at the end is what I used to buy as either ClearPrint drafting film, available in sheets and rolls, OR Denril drafting film in the art supply shop. Its impossible to tear but it will stretch after using roughly. The technique also works with tracing paper, and there's also Saral graphite transfer paper to place under a drawing.
Easiest, cheapest way for small quantity or occasional use? Rub charcoal dust or pencil on the back of a drawing on copier paper, trace over it with a ballpoint pen to transfer to wood; rub back with a "china marker" (waxy) to transfer to metal.
[The ballpoint pen will help you see the area you've already gone over; use another color for another time.]
    Yeah, I'm *that old.
    Thanks for your video wisdom!

your skill and knowledge seems very impressive ! I would gladly encourage you to keep making video and share your knowledge to this world, brilliant work! The stick back grip roll you have might be the same as grip tape for skateboard try going to sport equipment supplier they may have it by the roll in the repair shop so you can pick the length you want

I think you meant "woodslicer" band blade if it is the one from Highland Hardware. Another great video! Thanks!

On "super glue," handle it wearing those really crappy gloves they use to make your sandwich and it will not stick to them or you.
