  • Millions of people knew invading Iraq was wrong. Twenty years on, they’ve been proven right, time and time again. The Bush administration never found weapons of mass destruction, and their dream of building a U.S.-friendly government in Iraq blew up in their faces - all while the Iraqi people endured decades of violence and societal collapse.
So did anyone benefit from the war? And how did the invasion change the world?

Thank you for making this video. I was one of the troops sent to Iraq in 2003 for Operation Iraqi Freedom. The only thing that came out good about that experience for me was that it opened my eyes to the lies our government has told to justify it's selfish wants and maintaining power. I lost 2 friends out there during that war and for what? You know the part of this video where it shows President George W. Bush misspeak and say Iraq when referring to one man deciding to launch a war was spot on. Then he said "Iraq too" in a joking way. I don't see how that was funny. All the lives lost because he wanted more power. He was playing an international chess game with our lives. This is why my mind is open to videos like yours. I know now from my experience I need to see both sides of a story before believing in anything. Thank you.

As a latino that worked for a uk trader for 3 years i learned plenty about the age of spin and how everything you consume about politics it's just a facade that a banker is pulling on you so they can earn another million no matter if the stocks are going down, even at that moment there are people making money.

So what's new if millions of Iraqi citizens enraged and billions of people across the planet aggrieved by the 1991 & 2003 US invasion of Iraq that found NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. The US-led invasion of the West resulted to the destruction of the country and caused the deaths of million Iraqi women, old folks, children, livelihoods and destroyed this nation historically called Babylonia. Geopolitical sentiments of humanity shifted away respect for US political leaders, instiutions and all things American. US had alienated people on earth away from them. US made a martyr out of Iraq and former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein no matter how the West picture him dictator. To the eyes of the world it's otherwise. If another state is strong enough to apply the same procedure to the US, surely its political leaders are super aggrieved, and would go to war. The threat to world peace is not the poor, developing and emerging states, but the US and it's Allies arising from being dominant economically and militarily- who want to control and manage the world when they themselves cannot resolved domestic problems such as recession, huge unemployment, border security, immigration, illegal-drugs, home-grown terrorism and home of the homeless people on earth across 50 states millions of Americans to name few social problems.

"Liberalism endorses war (e.g., colonialism, humanitarian intervention, military occupation) to impose its law (international human rights law) across the world. Therefore liberalism approves killing people across the world. Liberals are dangerous - your liberal neighbor literally wants to knife your little daughter and then blow up the local mosque."
Why do so many idiots find the first argument logical and compelling, while they find the second argument illogical and absurd? Aren't both arguments illogical and absurd?
Do you want to know why the US is broke and subject to an increasingly totalitarian surveillance regime?
It is because the American people allowed themselves to be duped by absurd arguments into endorsing the "Global War on Terrorism" - spending 8 trillion dollars and agreeing to give the government unlimited surveillance/policing powers in the name of "fighting terrorism/extremism" as characterized by the first argument above.

For all of those who think it is ideal if Muslim women are not financially dependent on men:
Would it be ideal if Muslim men were not sexually dependent on their women? For example would it be ideal if men could purchase (at low cost) harems of docile life-like forever-young sex robots?
How would you respond to Muslim men who justified this by saying such robots are necessary to give men true independence, such that they are not forced to stay in relationships with women who are rude, jealous, controlling, manipulative, fat, old, or ugly?
How would you respond to Muslim men who said that Muslim women need to "step up their game" such that men choose to be with them instead of a robot that is more friendly, beautiful, young, and thin?
The cop out answer is to say sex robots are haram, but there are other conceivable halal alternatives that would do the same thing: flood men with cheap alternatives. Obviously such alternatives would weaken and ultimately destroy marriage because it takes away the dependence that men have on women for sex.
But that is literally what giving women financial independence does; it makes them independent from men. And that's why no society or religion ever did give women that independence, except for our current dystopia..

In an objectively just world, they both would be, but unfortunately the current international system is based on Anglo-American power projection, therefore, the ICC's authority is based on their primacy in the international order. That means American and British leaders, and their close allies are more or less exempt from the ICC's authority unless they willingly submit to it's authority. Had there been an acute and extreme backlash to the Iraq war and opposition parties gained power in either country based on promises to make those leader's be held accountable, then there might have been some maneuvers to turn them over to the ICC, but that didn't happen, unfortunately. For me though, Bush was a willing stooge in all this; he was too stupid to come up with this on his own. The true master minds were Cheney and Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld is dead, and Cheney is not too far behind. Powell is dead too, so that leaves Rice, but her culpability is not as big as those top 3, imo.
